  1. That's awesome man, how did you become a fan?
  2. I think 38 is a fair prediction...maybe a little high. We are putting together a real nice core of young players, but I think they are all still a little too young and inexperienced to make a serious playoff push this season. I pray to God they prove me wrong, but I'm guessing we win about 35 games...if we catch a few real lucky breaks along the way we COULD be looking at the 8 seed with about 41 wins, I think that is a bit optimistic for the upcoming season though.
  3. I just really like the idea because I feel like with all the moves going on right now Chill is the odd man out. The team is shaping up in a way that he is probably not going to see too much time on the court, and that's a shame because he still has a lot of talent. If we could work out some zone defense, and have every player on the floor be 6'8-6'9, I could see some great things on offense for us, the defense would be the weak point though against quicker guards.
  4. What do yall think about letting Childress get some minutes at PG? I know I know, "he is a SF" and I agree, but the guy plays solid defense, and he handles the ball relatively well. I feel like if he came in knowing that his job was to distribute the ball, he could do it pretty well. It would also give us a chance to get our 5 best players out on the court at one time. By midseason we could see: Chill JJ Marvin Smoove Shelden As our starting 5. I know this idea is way out of left field and I will prob get flamed big time for it, but I figured why not throw it out there
  5. I think Miami is clearly the best team, but they (namely Shaq) take it real easy during the regular season. I think 3rd seed is comfortable for them and acceptable.
  6. Off the top of my head, with the appropriate seedings... East 1. NJ Nets 2. Cleveland 3. Miami (Shaq never plays hard in the regular season) 4. Chicago 5. Detroit 6. Indy 7. Orlando 8. Oh what the hell...HAWKS!! West 1. San Antonio 2. Phoenix 3. Dallas 4. LA Lakers 5. Denver 6. LA Clippers 7. Memphis 8. Sacramento
  7. I just hope he becomes the player we all envision him to be. Personally, I think he has the potential to be a top 15, MAYBE 10 player in the league once he hits his prime and the talent around him develops more and more.
  8. Could someone tell me a bit about this guy? How tall/weight, could he ever REALISTICALLY be a factor for us...etc... Thanks in advance
  9. Would you do the JJ trade all over again? 2 1st round picks, and Boris Diaw for JJ.
  10. Speedy/Lue JJ/Chill Smoove/Marvin Shelden/S.Jones/Batista Zaza/Foster I don't think we are going to be able to get the value we want for Harrington, but for the sake of this post, lets just assume we get something along the lines of Foster/1st round pick 2007. I say this team gets about 35 wins...maybe more if we catch a few breaks
  11. They would have a REAL nice front court if they added Al in there. Only problem is that Duhon is not that good, and I doubt we could pry away Gordon or Hinrich just for Al...maybe we could throw in someone else to get one of those two. Just a thought.
  12. Quote: Quote: Wednesday, June 28, 2006 This and that from a memorable day Are you ready for this? Nate McMillan has already named his starting point guard for the Blazers' first game: Brandon Roy. "Roy will be the starting point guard," McMillan said. Roy, you will remember, was picked by Minnesota, then traded to Portland for Randy Foye and cash in essentially a swap of the Nos. 6 and 7 picks. Oh wait, there's more to McMillan's quote: " ... of the summer league, and he will get the opportunity to get some playing time there." Well, Nate knows a lot more about basketball than me, but personally, I don't think Roy can run the point...we'll see I guess
  13. I understand the attraction to him, because there is a chance he could turn out to be the best player in this draft, BUT why the heck would you want him on the Hawks?? Roy is the definition of a pure SG...not a PG, not a SF, this guy is a SG (and a damn good one at that)...Last time I checked, we already had a SG...one that we happened to give up two 1st round picks and a rising star for. How in the heck would it make sense to draft Roy??? HE WOUDLN'T EVEN START!!! He would not fit in on this team at all. A backcourt of him and JJ would simply not work out...our assist numbers would be even lower than they were this past year (20th in the league I believe). JChill is already an adequate bench SG...where would Roy fit in? Now, Foye, I can understand, because I believe he can eventually run the point in the NBA, but Roy (even though a great talent) would have been a complete waste of a pick IMO.
  14. JB, IMO Cassell would be PERFECT for this team...great defender, alot of fire and tenacity, a very good distributor, and a veteran that knows how to win...what the heck else would you want in a PG for this team???
  15. Portland's PG's are too young for my taste...I think we need a grizzled veteran in here who is also a distributor to help these young guys. After seeing what Cassell did in LA last year, I would welcome him with open arms. JT would be my second choice with Andre Miller being my third. Only bad thing about getting Cassell is that we would literally have the two ugliest players in the NBA! But if he leads us to the playoffs, I think I can handle it.
  16. That get us that veteran PG we need. I seriously think if we got a PG at the level of JT or Cassell, this team could make the playoffs NEXT season. Our defense should be better with the drafting of Shelden (and especially if we got Cassell)...I feel like this team is really headed in the right direction! So, after that being said, what PG's are possibilities?
  17. Next season??? I would be happy with 15 pts and 7 or 8 rebs, don't know if he can do that though. Will he be starting next year, also?
  18. Time to predict who we are going to take at #5...assume no trade is made for us to move up or down. I think we end up taking Aldridge.
  19. Two things...first of all, I don't think we could get the #10 pick in the draft for 2 2nd round picks. Second of all, I would LOVE that line-up in 2 years, but I still think we'd be too young next year and maybe even the year after to make it to the playoffs. We need some veterans!!!
  20. Thoughts? JT/Lue/Salim JJ/Chill Smoove/Chill Williams/S. Williams/Batista Zaza/S. Williams Not sure JT would want to come back, but that line-up is fine with me
  21. I thought you were talking about JOSH Howard... I think Smoove has the athletic ability and playmaking ability to be a top 10 player in the league someday, but I don't know if his shooting/post game will ever shape up.
  22. Quote: Ask this question after that one....is there any one that was drafted after we drafted that could be a top 5-6 player one day? Hmm....Iggy/Deng? Nope, won't ever even be the go-to players on their teams. Paul/DWill? They are both great players but will never, ever be top 10 worthy. So what is your point? Here are players I think are at the top in some order: Shaq Duncan Garnett Kobe Lebron Wade Dirk Nash AI The new wave of top players includes: Wade Lebron Bosh Howard Stoudemire Anthony Did we have a chance to draft any of them? No. I think Chris Paul will DEFINITELY make it in the top 10 within a few years. Had a shot at Howard a few years back. I see your point, I just wish we would have gotten more superstar value for our spots in the drafts. Not really arguing with the picks, just whining a little bit about our luck.
