  1. That's why I mention trading for Hibbert.
  2. If we get 2 and draft Durant, could we trade Marvin for the 7 or 8 pick and take Hibbert? Acie Law/ AJ JJ/Salim Durant/Chillz Smoove/ Shelden Hibbert/ Zaza That is a stacked team, IMO.
  3. Quote: "People that say stuff like that don't know what goes on with this team, on the inside. They don't see practice and they don't know about the work we're putting in trying to win every time we hit the floor. Do they know that the lottery is just that, a lottery? It's a gamble. We don't have any control of over what happens when those numbers come up.
  4. Quote: "That is flat out the dumbest thing I've ever heard," he said of those who advocate the Hawks tanking the rest of the season in a race to finish atop the draft lottery. So, basically, for all the people who want to tank, Smoove is calling you an idiot.
  5. Quote: Remember...we've still got the anti-tank weapon...Josh Smith. nm
  6. We need a defensive big, and that's exactly what Oden is.

Can't do it. Not that I believe you. Try again. W Ever heard of the "Larry Bird Exception"? It's the reason the Bulls were able to pay MJ $30 million in 1998, because if you are extending the contract of a player ALREADY on your team, you can go over the salary cap to do it!! Don't come with that weak crap in here!! We CAN afford every single one of them as long as they are on our team for 3 years before we extend their contracts!! Try again, fake fan! I have to agree with Walter here. They aren't all staying. They are going to have to pay to get a big in here and they also need a pg. To fill those holes AND keep everyone will be too expensive for a cash strapped franchise. Walter said we couldn't "afford" for them to stay (whether they would want to is a different issue)... Thanks to the Larry Bird Exception, we can absolutely afford Smoove, Chillz, JJ, and Marvin...Absolutely no question about it.

That's what this team AT BEST will be, lesser mediocre, without significant improvement. Want all you want, waive your patriotic fan flag even, it won't solve this teams enormous problems. 10. Stop putting words into my mouth. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be confrontational, it just really pisses me off when "fans" of a team cheer for them to lose...Kinda goes against the whole point of being a fan.
  11. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
  12. I will absolutely never cheer for my team to LOSE under any circumstance...It goes against the entire point of competition. Let's get better by LEARNING HOW TO WIN...Not learning how to lose so we have a SLIGHTLY better chance at getting Greg Oden.
  13. Oh well...I guess I'm pretty much solo on cheering for the Hawks to win all the games they can.
  14. Falcons give up: Schaub #10 overall pick 2007 Texans give up: #8 overall pick 2007 #39 pick 2007 2nd rounder in 2008 If Adreian Peterson drops at all, we have a GREAT shot. Hopefully we will use our two second round picks on Charles Johnson, DE- UGA and Arron Sears, OT- Tennessee
  15. Especially if we make some noise while we're there.
  16. Quote: I wouldn't worry too much about those two. The truth is that Marvin has played better the last 6 weeks. He will have a great 2008 if he stays healthy. He and Josh Smith are going to be the best forward tandem in the East within a couple of years. We just need a better defender in the post...and a true PG...who isn't an old re-tread. Of course, with no pick next year it's going to be tough. You don't think Smoove can be that defender in the post?? Or were you referring to the C position? We definitely need another big body there.
  17. That Marvin has been playing some pretty good D, especially lately?? If he can turn into a good defender (which his athletic ability certainly gives him the potential for), that would help out immensely.
  18. We need to figure out a way to unload some salary and do this in the offseason.
  19. Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: There is NOTHING TANGIBLE to be gained by winning. A win is as tangible as it gets in the NBA. W's and L's are the bottom line. Seriously. These terrible fans we have are probably the reason why the basketball gods won't let us make the playoffs. The basketball gods frown on fans who root from the opening tip of the season until the last second of the last game for their team to win? Uhh...Maybe you haven't noticed, but there seems to be very few fans on here that actually subscribe to that line of thinking. There is quite a large contingency that cheers for us to lose...Which by definition, makes them not a fan of our team. I wish they would go choose a new team to cheer against.
  20. Quote: I don't cheer against my team under ANY circumstances. We need more fans like you! I wish the tankers would go choose another team...It's embarrassing to have people claiming to be "fans" actually cheering for us to lose.
