The next evolution in Trae's game is not throwing games with hero ball. We were fortunate to win this one. But ugly wins beat losing every game. And a good part of that game was fairly high quality basketball by the team.

Damn, OO flipped a switch in that 3rd. That was one of the meanest defensive performance I’ve seen. He straight up decided KAT wasn’t allowed to score anymore.

Please post the links to where it was widely reported since last season that Travis Schlenk would be aggressively trying to make trades. I guess I'm confused since he publicly said he wanted to bring the band back for this season. But if you say that was widely reported since last season then I'm just asking for receipts. We're talking about Cam. Cam has been reported to be on the trade block since last season. Don't accuse me of ignoring things and then come back with that silliness lol.
But on the subject of making trades, everyone and their mother had us in trade talks as soon as we started to struggle this season and Schlenk himself came out and talked about his failures in constructing the roster. Who didn't know a trade was coming?
Listen, people can believe what they want to believe. I said my piece. I'll go back to rolling my eyes and moving on to the next post like I normally do.

I think there is some conflating of opinion and facts here but there are easily verifiable things that have been proven out so if you are going to describe what's happening you should at least acknowledge that. Seems like you are trying to ignore the 5 things that pan out to focus only on the 1 that didn't.
Things shared here before they were reported in the media on Cam:
Reports that TS is aggressively shopping. Check.
Report that Cam is on the block. Check.
Report that teams have made specific proposals for Cam. Check.
Reports that Cam wants out. Check.
Projected value for a Cam trade. Miss.
Analysis: The only thing that counts is the poster's interpretation of what value TS was seeking.
I'm not giving credit for information that has been widely reported since last season. None of that came close to originating on here. Schlenk not entertaining those weak offers (much less being the one looking for them) is where the talk on here went against those reports and it ended up being wrong. And I'm not being critical in that regard because I didn't believe the reports either. But I also don't claim to have insider knowledge.

Hard for me to think you aren't grinding an ax when you say something like this. You literally had a bunch of solid things said on that same thread but the one missed prediction is the only thing you focus on.
You have to know that is an incredibly disingenuous way to describe this situation. Like feel free to believe people here are just repeating something they saw on reddit or whatever but this is about the most slanted possible perspective you could offer.
What I mean is that's one of the few specific things that has ever been mentioned that we can actually say was true or false. Normally it's just stating the obvious or speaking in broad terms and calling it a leak when anything happens.

I'm not really seeing what difference it makes. I'm not paying anyone for this information.
It doesn't make a difference. The fantasy that we have 3 insiders on here and them constantly patting themselves on the back over their nothing leaks is just cringe to me. The most solid thing we have to work on from these years of "leaks" is the denial that Schlenk was interested in dumping Cam at low value and we saw what happened there.

I think the problem is a lot of people only look at Hawksquawk for their Hawks news. All the stuff you think was posted first on here has been posted ad nauseam on Reddit for instance. So when I see all of that discussed on there and then come here and see people acting like they’re offering new information it’s weird.

Hes had some leaks regarding bogi and jc come to fruition this week and trae's interest in wanting to play with ben simmons. Not sure if that was from him or the campster but stuff slowly but surely coming out
Again, I feel like the things being said about Bogi and JC are all pretty obvious. We're a team that's way underperforming and only have a few pieces to trade if we want to make a splash. And I missed any leak about Trae wanting to play with Simmons.

A lot of what you said previously has been coming out by the media this week...
Such as? You don't need a source to know Trae talks to Travis. This will ruffle some feathers but the next time someone on here "leaks" something that's not a vague, general statement will be the first.
And while I'm at it, this thread title should be changed. At no point was that said.

The Hawks have enough non shooters in the starting line up already with Capela and Bogi.

Just now, h4wkfan said:His dad isn’t wrong. Trae shoots nearly 5.5% higher on catch and shoot 3s than pull-ups (41.5 vs 36.1).
And for the last week to few weeks, it’s been pretty obvious trae has tried to defer to teammates. And up until last night, nobody really stepped up. We need a legit second option to take things off trae. Be it Hunter or a new guy.
Playing off the ball isn’t just allowing others to dribble while he stands near mid court though. He needs to move to make it more effective.

He turns the ball over 4 times as much as any other teammate. Maybe it should be the other way around.
It would be nice for him to get under 4 a game, but 4.1 for someone who creates the largest percentage of his team’s offense in the league isn’t terrible.

He didn’t exactly say that Trae wants to play off the ball. Just that his dad said he’s better at catch and shoot than off the dribble. He certainly doesn’t act like someone who has any interest in playing off ball, but that could be a product of not trusting his teammates.

Trae started last season with dark horse MVP hype after the masterclass vs Chicago. But he kind of sabotaged himself with that early season slump/drama when people weren’t even sure if he was trying. We also were never 31-15 (we were 31-26) and 3rd place in the conference (after the very beginning). It is what it is.

This is honestly the most embarrassed I have ever been of the Hawks. When we sucked in the past it was expected. We're a joke on both sides of the ball. Teams get open 3's and score over us in the paint all night long. Our offense puts up numbers but is extremely unreliable when we need a bucket. What a nightmare season.
-
This team is trying so hard to kill my buzz from UGA winning. At least they put up a fight tonight, but all that did was afford them the opportunity to absolutely shrink at the end.
-
So this team just embarrassed us and our locker room got a big shakeup. If our team is ever going to show an ounce of fight it should be tonight.

Ultimately I don’t know if this is a bad trade, as Cam may never be a good player and this may be the first step towards a bigger move, but it certainly feels bad. Especially with it being the Knicks. Part of the excitement with this team was Cam’s potential so to give up on that for a mediocre return hurts.

Lets be clear though, Bennett didn't "win" us that game. That game was won 2 places. The front 7 got inside Young's head all night and sped up his internal clock and late 3rd, early 4th (can't remember) there as a drive that started with 3 straight runs by Zamir White where he looked like a man wanting to hurt someone. White willed 2 first downs and then a 4th on that drive. White and the offensive line on the drive that put us back in front won that game.
The Refs tried to steal it, but White would not be denied. White and Dean won that game through leadership as much as play.
Stetson made the plays we needed when he wasn’t running for his life. He was as responsible for the win as any other one player.

I only ever see you comment here in game threads when we lose... and it's usually gleeful comments on how we suck and the FO messed up and our players suck and the team sucks.... Are you a Hawks fan? I'm relatively new here so genuinely asking
Every season he says our team is doomed and then gloats about it after every loss, it’s all a boring routine. Most people have tuned it out at this point.

Truly embarrassing. The Lakers have been a lifeless husk all season and we make them look like peak Showtime. And I swear Trae always turns it over like crazy and misses a ton of shots on national TV. At least in the regular season. Also when Cam ignored Trae and dribbled the ball up I knew that I could go ahead and chalk up an empty possession. I'm not sure he can exist on this roster when we have most of our guys. Ugh, just a frustrating game all around.

If nothing else I feel like he knows his role and will do it without pouting. I was always a little uneasy watching Cam when he wasn't popping off because his body language was so bad.
