He was working out a deal with Indy before his 10-day ended with us. That’s where he wants to be and apparently the only place he’s good.

I’ve been tempted to call Cam the worst passer on the team but he did drop a couple of dimes last night. The one when he lost his shoe may have been his best pass yet.
Any win without Trae is huge. And honestly just any win at all right now is very important. Nice to see some (some) good team ball on both sides and for Kev to step up in such a big way. Still can’t believe he hit that one shot.

Plot twist: Supes, Sothron, and campster are all each other’s anonymous sources.

It was directly to you, it was to that trade offer. With Bogi, we need someone back that's impactful. We can't just get rotation bench vets like Thad Young. For Gallo, that's great but not for Bogi.
I've said this a month ago, what happen, we got more injuried than ever before. This team is brittle.
The whole team going into protocols isn't the same as getting injured. They are on the brittle side, but you can't hold all most of these recently missed games against them.

A unprotected 1st for Murray is the best they will get for him. Who else in the top 10 right now would do that?
He's their best player, he's 25 years old, and he's on a team-friendly deal for 2 more years. They're not trying to unload him for any FRP. And as mentioned, we're probably not a lottery team as it stands, and we definitely wouldn't be one with Murray.

In any Bogi trade, we need something good back. I would trade Bogi and our unprotected 2021 1st for Dejounte Murray
No shit lol. Why would SA?

Really wish Lou just rode off into the sunset after the playoffs. I feel like it's an awkward situation with him being one of our only true vets and seemingly a respected mentor. They want his knowledge out there and they also don't wanna risk things turning sour by gluing him to the bench. And he was super dramatic about being traded last season and being in Atlanta is supposedly the only reason he didn't retire. Not sure he has any interest in moving on, but maybe he could be convinced to join a team with a better record if any of them want him.

The rotation has to stop. I get Trae can't play all 48 mins, but watching us lose a lead to start every 4th quarter (if we even had one) is getting old. He gets a breather at the end of the 3rd. At least let him start the 4th to jumpstart the offense and then sub him out early. There is a major momentum shift that happens at the end of one quarter and the beginning of the next.
We lose that momentum every game it seems. And we expect Trae to come cold after sitting for 15 actual real life minutes and bail us out every night.
Truth is, we NEED that 2nd star who can be on the floor when Trae isn't and get his own offense. That's what we are missing right now.
He came it with 7:40 left tonight and didn't attempt a shot until 4:08. He wasn't even trying to touch the ball during that stretch apart from that double dribble. That makes me think he was still trying to catch his breath so I'm not sure what the answer is with his minutes.

I haven’t been able to respond but yea that’s exactly what I’m saying @JayBirdHawk:…unless I’m not understanding the rules right , schlenk could have signed the 3 players as he’s suppose to (not breaking the rules) then that would have given us only 7 players total who could play which then we can have games postponed but still not break the rules!….IF I’m understanding it correctly but I just don’t understand how we have more COVID players than all the other teams in the nba and the most 10 day contract players yet teams with less are getting games postponed.
we can blame silver sure but im going to blame schlenk for not taking advantage and thinking through this and being the smart gm he is. Like him or not schlenk sucked in dealing with this.
Once more, last game vs the Bulls was the only time we've been at 4 players. You keep saying games plural, but that has been the only one. We'll be in that boat again if Cam is out and no one else comes back, but we have a few guys that will be eligible to return.
Two, that would have required Schlenk to anticipate us dropping down to 4 and deciding to stick with the first 3 10-day guys he signed instead of searching for contributors. I think Chaundee Brown was like the 5th or 6th guy we signed and he was huge tonight.
Three, you're assuming the league would allow us to just sit at 7 players which, again, I really, really don't think they would. Canceling and rescheduling games is a nightmare.
Four, from what I understand, other teams have gotten their games postponed because they had more guys out with actual injuries (meaning no 10-day replacement players for them) and they were falling under the 8-player mark on game day when there wasn't enough time to work something out. Now maybe there is some gamesmanship there, but it's still a different situation than what we've faced.

We should be reporting injuries like other teams to postpone games. Just saw Cap has been having respiratory issues. Hold him out, etc. Every player has something that could use rest.
Yeah, the premise of this thread is wrong, but I would have given Schlenk props for finding a way to work the injury report to get at least the last game postponed.

Again, last game is the only one we could have theoretically gotten postponed based on these roster rules (but not practical). And if Lou is back then we probably *knock on wood* won’t have only 4 roster guys again. It’s a frustrating situation but not much to be done about it.
-
I doubt he can simply choose not to sign more players to get to that 8-player mark. Regardless, last game was the first time we’ve been at 4 roster players and at the point we already had more than 3 guys signed up. We’re probably better off trying to get these 10-day guys acclimated to hopefully beat other weakened teams than trying to finesse a postponement.
Not to mention it’s going to be funky trying to get these postponed games made up. We already have one with Cleveland.
-
We've been way too diligent reporting these positive tests and bringing in 10-dayers. Needed to force the NBA's hand like these other teams are doing.

Trae is obviously an incredible player, but he can only do so much with his physical limitations and a GLeague roster around him. It's too easy to key in on him and bother him with length when you don't respect anyone else on the floor. And people always seem to ignore this, but it's not uncommon for Trae to look pretty gassed out there. There's a reason his 4th quarter numbers take such a hit. They want him to play more, do more, but that's obviously not his game right now. Especially when he has to do all of the heavy lifting.

I watched the game. He had good contests on a ton of their shots. They hit them, but it wasn't bad defense.
Yeah, despite the result this was one of the better defensive games I've seen from Cam this year. Granted it may have been because DeRozan is so content to settle for contested midrange shots. Just about anyone else taking those shots and you're quite pleased with the defense. And then LaVine hit some just stupid shots too.
It's hard for me to be too critical of these wacky COVID games, but it sure makes all those earlier losses hurt more.

We've been playing like garbage anyway so maybe this will ignite something. Probably not, but you never know.

The logo 3's are fine, Cousins is super duper washed, and JJ is the definition of "empty numbers" right now. Still wouldn't mind seeing if he could give us a spark when we're in a funk, but it's probably better to give him consistent minutes in the G-League. I can get behind the rest. Except TLC is fine in his intended role. Obviously when all our wings die and he has to play significant minutes it's no bueno.
-
I wouldn’t mind seeing the rookies get a shot but people need to stop acting like it’s a sure thing that they’re ready for real NBA minutes. Also need to stop putting all of the blame on Nate when they’re not even with the team most nights.

Not sure if that helps. We only lost to the Knicks because Gallo and Huerter missed everything. If Gallo isn’t playing like a bum then I think we’re better off with most of his minutes going towards stabilizing the offense with Trae on the bench.

Interesting or not that only Mays has been recalled? Practice body?
Skyhawks have another game on Tuesday, maybe Coop and JJ will be back after this game?
We need help on the wings and I guess Mays is our best in-house option at the moment. But JJ is apparently ill so that could have something to do with it, IDK.

I know that team fell short, but the 60 win Hawks team had a similar stretch of dominance during that 19 game win streak.
That team was 1 point better in their best 7-game streak. +122 vs +121. But this streak was all double digits which was neat. There was a pathetic +8 in 2015. Maybe offset by the fact that it was in the middle of a 19 game streak and 33/35. Meanwhile the current squad completely gassed after their 7 wins.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the best 7 games of Hawks basketball ever. In terms of average margin of victory. Super light portion of the schedule but still extremely impressive. Everyone seems to be settled into their roles and Trae is in complete control out there.

Just that, as usual, you’re complaining about the Hawks not doing something that was never a realistic option.

Surprised DeRozan has almost twice as many votes as LaVine. Also surprised Trae has more votes than Luka even though he deserves it.
