    Foye ..

Sorry I haven't made it around here in a while, but what would you guys have thought if the Hawks drafted Foye instead of Shell? I'm working on a redraft, and I was thinking that the Hawks could have used Foye's unselfishness and could have groomed him as their PG of the future. He's getting some more time right now in Minny and is doing pretty well. Anyway, what're your thoughts on the Hawks potentially seeking Foye to fill the PG hole and not going after the "ready-made" big man in Williams?
  2. The last time this happened, a team complained about the information in the article and demanded it be rescinded.
  3. The article went down for a while (and I have conspiracy theories as to why), but it is up again: http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20901.shtml
  4. It is back up! http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20901.shtml
  5. Hey fellas, Here's my latest at HOOPSWORLD.com about the Hawks and what they'll be looking to do in the next few days and weeks. http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20901.shtml Enjoy!
  6. Running iso plays for Marvin is a really good idea, but that just isn't how Coach Woodson wants to use him. I don't know what else to tell you, really. In speaking with Marvin, he's comfortable in his role and he did a good job of not hinting in any fashion that he is unhappy with it. Smart kid. Making body contact was one of Marvin's strong characteristics in college. I really am not sure why he is less physical now - probably because he's been moved to the wing. It's really too bad.
  7. I don't really think Magloire is going to be moved at all. The Blazers have little interest in picking up a contract and will more than likely be okay with just letting him walk at season's end. Dixon has been rumored to be on the move, but they want a shooter for him and they want a deal that ends as well. Translation = the Blazers are too freaking demanding for their role players.
  8. Yea, notice Scottie refers to himself as a point-forward more now than ever. He's strictly interested in getting others involved. Smoove's great and all, but that really isn't the pressing need in his game. Marvin would truly benefit from Scottie's tutlage.
  9. The Hawks were in the Francis sweepstakes last season, but didn't have the expiring contract to make it work. The only guy I can see the team going after from that list is Morris Peterson. Pure speculation, but I think if you put a package together with Salim in it and find a way to make the numbers work, the Raptors would bite. Salim would thrive in that system.
  10. Well, if Peter Vescey can copy his articles off a Lakers blog, I'm pretty sure I can come here and see what frustrates Hawks fans! Marvin's a good dude and is really just doing what the coaching staff is asking him to. He really should take it to the basket more often, but the team is trying to establish Zaza and Smoove in the paint, which doesn't really leave much proper space for three slashers. Marvin is one of the best shooters in the league as far as in his form. He's got a Michael Redd-like consistency to it. It'll come together for him soon, and when it does I'm sure he'll be looking to get people in the air with a pump fake and then create a little. IMO, the Hawks are not using him to the best of his ability. He needs to have the ball in his hands a little more to set up other guys. It's really a shame his passing isn't being utilized more often. I guess that comes down to the Hawks getting more movement as well.
  11. I had a chance to quickly interview Marvin this week. It's not much, but he gave some insight into his game and Smoove also chimed in with some thoughts. Check it out: http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20848.shtml I hope you enjoy it! I'm hoping to get a chance to speak with some other guys this weekend if I see them around Vegas. I'll post anything I can get.
  12. Good stuff, guys, I'm glad I joined up here so we can talk about this. From what I've heard, Childress will return without surgery. They're really concerned about Speedy, though. As far as forgetting Josh Smith - DAMN my bad! Whoever said Josh would play the 4 on offense and the 3 on d - you're not wrong in thinking that it would be a good move, but Woodson is convinced about Marvin's post game. When I watched Marvin at the RMR, he really did play well in the post - better than what we've seen from Smoove so far.
  13. Hey guys. Here's my latest at HOOPSWORLD.COM: LINK Tip off is in less than 90 minutes - in this edition of the Hawks report: Marvin Williams returns, Speedy's looking better, and what does it all mean for Coach Woodson's lineup? Enjoy!
  14. Marvin coming back to help guard the Laker swingmen is a great step. He'll probably get Walton in his first game back and can ease his way into things. Speedy is of more concern. He can BURN the Lakers.
  15. Although the Nuggets did sort of fall apart, luck really didn't have anything to do with scoring 37 points in the fourth quarter. Just like luck didn't have much to do with scoring 13 in the third ..
