  1. Here we go again! Hawks management making yet another bad decision. I have seen Hinrich at Chicago and after he was traded from there and he was not the same player after the trade. I consider this trade not an upgrade at all. We gave up on a young shooter, and a veteran guard and a 1st round pick for another aging veteran? Where is the upgrade? This was supposed to take us to the next level????

    Hinrich (2010-2011 stats)

    RPG 2.7

    APG 4.4

I am hoping beyond hope that we are not done dealing, otherwise I look forward to yet another early exit from the playoffs for this "core" team.

  2. Diesel, you seem to be under the mistaken impression that people don't respond substantively to your posts because they don't have answers. Allow me to disabuse you of that notion. It's not because there are no "answers" to your opinion on Marvin. Many people have given you many "answers," but you deride those answers as "excuses." So after awhile, most people figured out that you are so closed-minded and arrogant (especially) on the issue of Marvin that there's nothing left to do but shrug our shoulders and make jokes at your expense whenever you make your completely predictable posts about Marvin.

In other words, the joke is (on) you.

I agree with Diesel, Marvin is not the answer. I was watching the Houston game with my nephew and Marvin was going down court on a breakaway, only him and is defender. All of a sudden seems as though Marvin tripped over his OWN foot falls to the ground and loses the ball. This guy is a joke. He is only a set shot shooter. We wasted a #2 on a set shot shooter. He has no handles. He falls when driving to the hoop (hit the gym), and he doesn't demand the ball, he waits for it. My nephew is the biggest Marvin fan out there and even he has given up. I have been waiting for Marvin to prove me wrong, I believe now is the time for a trade. Caron Butler or a big man for Marvin and some picks I believe would benefit the Hawks better at this time. We need to solidify this team now. It is the best we have had in a long time. Add a piece to replace Marvin, that can push us past the Cavs, Spurs, Lakers...

  3. I've done said that I don't find them blameless. But nobody should be sick enough to touch little kids. No blame should be taken away from MJ if he did this. Parents stupidity doesn't excuse sick perverted behavior by somebody else. Simple as that.

Rest in peace Micheal Jackson. The greatest entertainer of our era!

  4. I believe this is a critical offseason not only for a contract but developement.

I think Marvin's number one priority should be his body.

He shall be in the weight room 3-4 times a week.

He shall address agility training (Ballet, speed drills, ladder drills) 3 times a week.

He shall allow a chiro to treat and adjust the back twice a week.

He Shall watch Videos of Danny Granger, Brandon Roy and LJB once a week each.

Check with me Marvin in July for your vacation (you get 18 days) regiment.

    Marvin = the wrong pick

  5. i would trade josh smith before i trade al horford..josh smith has shown that he's an inconsistent player without much space to grow now. sadly, the high school superstar mindset hasnt changed with a few years in the league

Josh produces more than Horford. Hortford's intangible is his winning pedigree and spirit. If I had to pick between he and Josh, Hort is outta here.

  6. But not with both of them starting. They are just not a fit when they are together. To be honest, Smith is a bad fit in most starting lineups, not because of talent, because he has plenty but because of his lack of consistency needed for a playoff team. He could very well be the best 6th man in league history. His potential is good and he is capable of being unguardable at times. That isn't enough when your play is so sporadic like Smith's. Joe lacks the temperment to be an #1 option on most playoff teams. He is as talented as anyone but just doesn't have that "it" factor to his game. I believe he is best suited with another star or two. JJ needs to play with guys who know their roles even when it's not given. I believe we have roles but some players don't want to play them. That could set us from the current state to a potential title contender. Opinions?

    Edit

You have got to be kidding. I could not get pass the "To be honest, Smith is a bad fit in most starting lineups, not because of talent, because he has plenty but because of his lack of consistency needed for a playoff team." Did you watch the playoffs. Josh Smith was our best and most consistent player during the playoffs. Look at the stats:

    Josh Smith 2009 Playoffs Statistics PPG 17.1 RPG 7.40 APG 2.3 EFF + 16.80

    Joe Johnson2009 Playoffs StatisticsPPG 16.4 RPG 4.30 APG 3.2 EFF + 11.50

Joe Johnson only showed up for 2 games during the playoffs and ZaZa continuously outplayed Al Horford. The third game of the Cavs series, Hort played scared. He passed up shot after shot, even the announcers commented on it. Josh at least fills up the scorecard unlike anyone in the NBA. Josh plays with heart, and shows it, plus he is a local. The last time we traded away our local star (Dominque) it was the worst move we could have made.

Our problem is we have no offensive system beyond one on one basketball and on defense, it’s switching up on everything. Both are ridiculous! The system is broke, the players are good. We need a true star player and a 7 foot center. Woody no Goody!

  7. Sup, i've been around, busy with work and all that. Just had a baby so that takes up some time and work has been pretty busy of late. Odd since this economy is supposedly so horrible. I guess it depends on what you read or watch. Hopefully you'll see more of me in the near future though, thanks for asking!

The Watchmen sucked!! Boring as hell.

  8. I didn't see the game. It look like they got off to a great start. The spread offense or whatever it is called is the new it offense in CFB today. It is nice to a change out there. If GT can make a serious run at a BCS bowl we could see it being brought back. GT should be able to land a few top notch RB if they have success with it.

Now you know why Georgia Southern has won so many Championships!

  9. Is it me or does Marvin seems to stumble and fall each time he drives to the hole. The young man needs to learn how to take contact and finish a drive. Plus Woody plays Marvin far too much with little return on that playing time, play someone else!!!... Richardson

  10. Salim is clearly a better choice than Law coming off the bench in the playoffs. At least Salim can produce points and possibly win a game. Law to me, seems content to get bring the ball up the court then pass it to Joe. We will need a lot more of our point guards against Boston. Salim's Basketball IQ is as high as any other hawks player, he unfortunately has a coach that hates him and refuses to play him. Once he is traded then let see how "low" his Basketball IQ is then. I heard the same thing about Boris Diaw. Play your Bench!!!
