I wouldn't say it is rigged but I'd be mad as hell.

Yea, while I do like Prince I have been wondering if we couldn't use a slight upgrade at that position in terms of height and athletacism.
I think we really need more height at SG. Most of the contenders have SGs at 6-6 to 6-7. Ours are 6-5 at best.
We're also a little short at PG but I'm not as worried about lenght at that position.
I guess the Hawks teams recently have always been a little undersized. Might as well get some length while we are rebuilding.

Thats an impressive stat. The Hawks offence has been really good this year. Need to step it up on defense though.

Okafor's crime is that he's not Embiid. This dude could ALWAYS ball.
Clips are from his rookie year ( first 3 months )
Well, he's not afraid of contact.
If the Hawks can land him for a decent deal, then why not?

The past 6 quarters have been as entertaining as possible from the worst record in the East. We’re mixing in a better team game around Dennis doing his thing than they are around Kyrie.
Taylor Gang just got a knack for finishing. That one slow down finish on the break looked Wade-like, then he gets the soft bounce on the short jumper like Dennis.
It’s safe to say Dedmon is one of the better PNR Bigs.
Babbitt and Belli lively and confident in the shot.
Collins will get it together.
And somebody ask Nique who the hell is Uncle Buck.
So true. What makes it entertaining is that a loss hurts a little less this year. Let's be honest, had the Hawks lost this game in the past 10 years there would be a lot of players, coaches, and referees being thrown under the bus right now.

Dennis could have scored a bit better but I like that he had 0 turovers.
While I like him on the team, I can totally see Belinelli being traded for a young asset or pick before the end of the season.

Really enjoyed this win.
Collins continues to impress and I'm glad I was wrong in my assumption that he would see next to no playtime this early in the season. Hope that trend continues.
As for Dennis, I think looking at his assist to turnover numbers can be misleading. Players have to take and make shots for him to get the assist. I've tried to look for a "pass per minute" stat but it isnt readily available. His pass per game last year was actually on par with Jeff Teagues. I don't see how anyone can call Dennis a ball hog.
By the way, I'm starting to see why Bud likes Josh Magette. He's a great facilitator and made some really good reads.

Man, I feel bad for Hayward. He has to be dissapointed.

By the way, Schlenk will be on the show every Tuesday just after 8 am.
And, yea, nothing new this week given that the season hasn't started. I'm sure the naratives will get more interesting as things progress.

Finish in conference is listed to be the first tiebreaker.
I like A/TO ratio for Dennis as a second one.
Ah, cool.
Ill go with 2.7 for the A/TO then.

@AHF do we need a tie breaker? Like:
1) The number of dunks by Collins.
2) Assist to turnover ratio for Dennis.

31, 51.
12th in the East.

I think trading Dennis is a huge risk. Finding a quality starter, even with favorable picks, could be a challenge.

Oh, so the 2020 pick is from either Miami or Portland?
Still not sure about 2019.

Just checked the Cavs future pics in hopes that we might get a good one. Doesn't look like anything is available until 2021 at the earliest.

Actually, their 2019 second round pick is confusing as hell. Can someone enlighten me?

I'm still trying to figure out what the purpose of acquiring Jamal Crawford was for if we are just going to be carrying around his dead salary all year
I think the Hawks wanted to keep him but when Jamal indicated he didn't want to be here the Hawks thought to best to avoid having a malcontent on the team. Especially with the team being so young.
It was also a show of goodwill.

I'm with you. Can't wait to watch the Hawks play unselfish basketball and lockdown D.
Also can't wait to watch the rookies get serious minutes but would not be surprised if Bud limits their minutes until half way through the season.
As for Dennis, the recent altercation was a letdown. I really hope he learns from it.
As for their record, I really don't care. It's a win/win in my opinion. If the Hawks do well then it just goes to show how good our young core is already. If they do poorly, then we are looking at a high draft pick to add talent.

So, I know that Babbit had a terrible shooting night but I was impressed with his defense, which was a nice surprise.

Actually I like a dennis, bembry, prince, illy, Collins lineup more.
You need some shooting to spread the floor for Collins, Bembry and Dennis.
Thats nothing against Dedmon. Hes just too similar to Collins at the moment to have em both on the floor imo
I liked this lineup as well, but I think it's our "small ball" lineup and mignt not fair as well against some matchups.

I think these 5 represent the young core the Hawks are trying to build arround. Our starting 5 will change a lot this year.

What surprised me most about him last season was his inability to shoot.
Agreed. His jumper looks great and he hits midrange shots at a 44.5% clip. I really thought that would translate into more consistancy beyond the arch, where he only shot 23%.

Hope he can make the leap this year.

A little off topic but I feel like the Cavs wouldn't make it past the 2nd round in the playoffs if they were in the Western bracket.
Deffinitly going to be either the Celtics or the Cavs in the finals from the East and I'll begrudgingly give the edge to the Celtics this year. I dont think either stand a chance to win it though.
Anyway, anyone know if this game is televised?

Glad we have Schlenk to help with talent evaluation. Clearly the Warriors made some good decisions. The drafting of Collins also shows that we can find great talent with out later picks.
