  1. Yeah gotta give Sothron credit here. Some people didn't believe him when he posted that.
  2. Wow, good post. Where did you find this article?
  3. I was just watching the ESPN draft preview and Andy Katz said the Hawks refused the trade and that it will not happen. I guess Sothron's talking about Gasol and Amare then?
  4. Thanks Sothron, always look forward to your posts. Surprising that Amare is 3rd most likely scenario. Phoenix is willing to trade with us even though they have our first rounder next year? Can you provide us with a possible scenario? I assume this has something to do with a 3 team KG trade. KG going to Phoenix, Amare coming here, on our end I'm guessing both picks, expirings and/or Chill?
  5. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives..._for_11th_pick/ "The Sonics are eager to begin the restructuring of their roster and have offered the Atlanta Hawks point guard Luke Ridnour for the No. 11 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, according to three NBA sources. The Hawks have long coveted Ridnour and he could be the point guard they have sought for years. Atlanta passed on New Orleans' Chris Paul and Utah's Deron Williams in the 2005 draft in favor of Bremerton's Marvin Williams. Atlanta also has another deal on the table from a third team for a point guard and is mulling that offer. If the Hawks accept Seattle's offer, the Sonics would own two of the first 11 picks and four of the first 35 and almost certainly would deal the No. 31 and 35 picks for perhaps another first-rounder or future picks. With the 11th pick, the Sonics could nab a point guard prospect such as Texas A&M's Acie Law, who worked out for the club earlier this month, or Georgia Tech's Javaris Crittenton, a freshman who would probably need a few years of seasoning before taking over the starting position. 6. The question was about Horford. BK didn't even mention Yi. That comment was definitely about Horford. Sorry guys. He says many teams play their PF's at C. He's talking about Jermaine O' Neal, Emeka Okafor, Amare Stoudamire, etc.
  7. Just kidding. The link was posted a day early on the Hawks Basketblog from hawks.com.
  8. Hey Sothron, any news from your sources about the Hawks pursuit of Camby? I hope this is true and not just a rumor. Imagine having the #1 and #2 shot blockers in the league on the same team. BK needs to pull the trigger before the draft. As some posters have pointed out we are an attractive trade partner because of our cap room so we can absorb some of Camby's salary.
  9. I actually almost lost my job in the Hawks FO for leaking those jersey pics a day early.
  10. Lol "the hype machine." I've seen Horford play for 3 seasons. You've seen Yi play at most 3 games. Yi is all hype, nothing else. Just like Milicic and Tskitishvili before him.
  11. Is it possible that Dwight doesn't sign an extension with the Magic and he becomes a FA after this season? I believe he becomes an RFA and the Magic can match any offer we give him, but if they make a run at a big FA like Rashard Lewis this offseason we may have more cap then them. I support getting Dwight in any way possible, but I'd rather wait a season and only lose cap room then get him next season and lose both picks, Marv and Chill.
  12. This argument really makes no sense. Why does everyone think just because Yi's on the team people will buy more merchandise or buy more tickets? If Yi's on the team and the Hawks still lose nothing will change. No one's going to watch the Hawks lose just because a Chinese player is on our team. And that's assuming he's not a bust. Also, no one will even see Yi. There's not enough playing time to go around at the forward spots. The Hawks will still lose because Yi fills no need, and if he turns out to be a bust, still no one will care about the Hawks except us Hawks fans. HORFORD PLAYED CENTER IN COLLEGE. YI IS A POWER FORWARD, HE SAID SO HIMSELF. DRAFT HORFORD.
  13. Why is everyone saying this when they give no facts or reasoning to back it up? We've all seen Shelden play, at least in Hawks games. Most of us have seen him play in college. That should be proof enough that Shelden and Horford are two very different players. About Shelden, from Draftexpress.com: Offensively, his game is based around hard work and brute strength rather than a finesse approach. He runs the floor extremely hard and finishes well on the break. Williams sets terrific screens and is a solid target on the pick and roll, improving his hand-eye coordination dramatically over the past few years and becoming a very steady presence for passes and easy finishes around the basket. Williams uses his lower body strength to the fullest at the college level to carve out space for himself, bump his man and work his way to the basket for a strong finish. He shows solid footwork, a simple, but effective jump-hook shot, and decent touch around the rim. Far from a post game. About Horford, from Draftexpress.com: Horford started the game off by hitting two mid-range jumpers, one of the spot-up variety from 15 feet out, and the next on a post-up from about 10 feet away, where he turned into his opponent and put up a quick jumper right in his face. Horford missed his next two mid-range jumpers, and then drifted out of the Florida offense for the remainder of the first half. In the second half, Horford directed his offense to the painted area, where he really started to impress with a nice array of hook shots and a great touch around the basket. Horford started off by making a drop-step lay-up off the glass which he was also fouled on, then quickly came back down the floor to hit a fading hook shot from about eight feet out. He hit two more hook shots as the game went on, one of which he used the glass on. The article goes on to say that Horford's post game is still developing but that he has shown that he is extremely coachable and in control of his emotions. I understand that some people are in love with Yi after watching a couple of his games, but the competition is way weaker in China than in the US. It's true Yi could turn out to be the next Dirk. Or he could be the next Bargnani. Or Fran Vasquez. Or Olowokandi, Tskitishvili, Milicic. Come on. Also, everyone who doubts Horford shoudl go to this link http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=2128 and see how he ranks at or near the top in every category. Really an eye opener. Just imagine if the Florida offense had run through him.
