Hawks weren’t expected to win this game, no biggie.  Sixers actually have a sound defense and clearly the best player on the floor.

Nick Nurse is 10-6 versus the Hawks.  LP and Nate weren’t equals and Quinn isn’t either.  I hear him talking about getting beat on cuts.  When your players don’t cut in practice they won’t defend it in games duh.

Vegas has hawks as the favorite to win this game

I never tried to understand this new play in format but since it looks like that’s where the Hawks are headed I think I should now lol.0157D5EB-E94C-4974-AD57-BE0C52A6F09B.thumb.jpeg.0d54435fe52e04f398573852d0ef877d.jpeg

Why is the Hawks’ chances of finishing 7th so much higher than the 7 spot in the play in?  And does 7 play 10 or 8?

I think it would be a better format where it's just one game, so 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9. If the former, win they get 7th and if the latter wins they get 8th spot.

Only OO was a rookie under Nate and he played limited minutes.  Earlier in the Covid season when we were so short handed, we chose to play 10 day contracts instead of our rookies.

    🕵️‍♂️

Exactly. Nate is not in a good light in that regard. You're telling everyone you think those 10 day contract is better? Not in the long term or short term imo

One weakness of this team is that Hunter is really the only true SF.  Kev, Bogi, Wright, Lou, Skyler, Coop are overmatched there.   Kevin can do it but he hasn't been that much better lately.

And he needs to stay a sf. Don't make him Pf which he isn't accustomed to

So Cam wants a bigger role and end up going from 20+ min a night when healthy to 7.5 min with 2 DNP-CD out of 4 games?

Damn. Grass ain't greener right now. Add in the fact that the Hawks are now rolling without him and it's just not a good look for him.

Most like him because of the potential but base on everything he sounds like a me first player. Even if he become a star, not sure if that's someone you want on the team. Probably a good lesson for him to be in NY and not playing.

Depth can be a secret sauce in the regular-season. It fosters competition. But such competition -- and hovering contract situations -- can build stress that manifests in minor shot-chasing.

That could be infecting Reddish, jacking about four pull-up jumpers per game -- well above his career average.

Reddish has made only 30% on career pull-up 3s, and 33% of pull-up 2s -- not enough to justify inside the arc and hoisting with plenty of time on the shot clock:

Reddish has 10 assists in 12 games. It's hard for any perimeter player to record so few dimes.

The Hawks have scored 117.3 points per 100 possessions with Reddish on the bench, and 95.9 when he plays -- larger than the gap between the league's best and worst offenses.

That's not all on Reddish, of course. Atlanta's bench mob lineups are pretty punchless. But it's somewhat telling that Atlanta's offense with Reddish has been about as bad regardless of whether Young is out there too, per http://nba.com.

And ya'll want to start this guy?

Cam needs to go to the G-league or the end of the bench. It's early but it's clear he's not ready for the 6th man role.

Capela has not been great and isn't healthy.  Cam is playing too much ball dominance for a minus player.  Bogi not defining his role, but that is Nates fault.  Kevin is obviously recovering.  JC has been our best player.  Hunter is hunting for his shot too much.  Trae has been off, like he is either moving too slow or too fast for the other guys.

Yeah I feel like Cam is playing way too many minutes than he deserved. Maybe he's trying to build him up like Kevin last year but it's not fun watching it. Roll out a rotation like last season and give him some minutes but not most of the bench minutes.
