  1. I still think that KG is getting too much credit as the guy on those successful BOS teams. He was definitely a key cog and perhaps the most important but those teams were well constructed and and well coached. Our current roster pales in comparison to those BOS teams and JJ isn't the reason why. I get the premise, but don't see much symmetry between the two situations.

I agree. People is underestimating the impact of Rondo. Imo, they would be a middle of the pack team like the Hawks if it weren't for Rondo to get them to the next level.

Hopefully Teague can do the same to this Hawks team next season.

  2. That is because you ignore baseball statistics. There is such a thing as a systematic way to evaluate baseball decision making. If you want to learn how to evaluate such a decision, I would be glad to teach. If you'd rather go on hunches and druthers, then join the club of Fredi Gonzalez. Trouble is, you're going to make the wrong decision an awful lot, and over the course of 162 games, that will cost you a couple W's. So when you've missed the playoffs by a game, you can sit at home on your hunches.

Well, the decision is not a hunch; it's base on the personnel on the team, I would think it's best to play small ball on this team to generate enough runs support for the pitching staff. And I like to see this statistics (if there's such a thing) of teams successfully getting a run in when bunting in a situation with no outs and a lead runner on.

  3. I can see why he did that; I actually prefer getting runners in scoring position with less than 2 outs. And bunting is the way to go. If I have it my way, I would have my player bunt the lead off guy who reach bases every time if they're in the bottom of the order. It cuts down on the double play possibility (and generate scoring opportunities). The difference in this game is I would go with a bunting specialist since Tehran is finished for the day.

Didn't see this game but it seems the game was lost 'cause our closer couldn't close. Kimbrel's walking too many people to my likings.

  4. 17 Turnovers :negative:

I think there's still hope for him though. But if he continues to take the jumpshot next game, then :rtfm:

  5. After watching Omer Asik and Gibson punk first Zaza and then Collins I'm leaning towards saying that this is just a desperation tactic that really has no effect on the court. What we need is better centers or centers that arms can at least reach above their heads or the ability to at least get an inch off the floor when they jump.

Collins didn't play much to say that he's not effective in this series.

I've been calling for the Collins lineup since game 1 because I think Collins will do a much better job at boxing guys out then what Smith has been doing.

They need the big lineup to stand a chance unless Joe goes perfect and Jamal goes off again.

  6. When I look at the previous meetings with the Bulls this season, it doesn't look good. Safe for a miraculous comeback the Bulls have destroyed the Hawks, home or away. The biggest difference that stands out was the rebounding... +20 for the bulls/game as I recalled.

I think LD need to dial up the big lineup for this one to have a chance esp when Hinrich is out. Additionally, I'd rather have Marvin and Crawford subbed rather than Zaza and Crawford.

Teague, JJ, Smith, Horford, Colins. with Craw and Marvin off bench as main contributors.

  7. To me, it really felt out of place. It was the unnecessary Jab to the kidneys that SVG kept hitting us with last night. No humility in losing. Yes, he took the blame for his team but he kept saying that " Those Atlanta guys are good when they are out front.... but if they're playing from behind they suck.".

    SVG has called us frontrunners?

Then he talked as if his team was better than ours and that they could beat us.

The truth is that if he didn't have refs helping in game 2, it would have been a sweep. If Zaza was not suspend for game 5, we would have been more competitive and may have beaten them in 5. If Hinrich doesn't get hurt in the 4th, we cruise to a double digit win in game 6.

Why can't SVG just humbly give us our props!!!!!?

To call us front runners is to ignore the fact that everytime your team came back and tied up the game or got the game close or even took the lead, we took it back.

    Fear the possum.

Zaza was not suspended in game 5 and probably won't make any difference. He was suspended in game 4 and the Hawks won anyway.

  8. The Falcons gave up their first-round pick (No. 27) this year as well as their second- and fourth-round picks in this draft. They also gave up their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012 to move up to No. 6 to grab Jones.

Whoa. He better be allpro.

  9. Last night, LD pulled Josh at least two times letting him know that every possession is crucial and that he wants to see Josh drive to the basket more instead of taking long jumpers with time on the clock. Woody would never do this, but I digress.

When LD puts Josh back in several minutes later, a funny moment happened where the Magic left Josh wide open for a long jumper; Josh was salivating for a jump shot, but thought better for a minute and drive to the basket instead. The effect seems to be working there. But will it last for the next game and the whole series?

  10. It's just 10 games. Nothing to worry about here.

Uggla is a typical poor April hitter. Wait til the summer heats up and so will his bat.

There are good signs in the offense, and some worrisome. I think it will come together sooner than latter and this will be a 94+ win team.

He's hitting .300 the past couple of seasons about 10 games into the season. :resent:
