  1. He does that and it's great but what about the poor defense, the changing the offensive tempo and not in a good way. Hey it's only game one but it isn't like he's brought into a system(Woody's aside) at any point in his career.

That's what I like about Larry Drew. He actually bench Crawford late in the fourth quarter because he knew defensively Crawford is lacking and offensively we don't need him when we have Joe, Josh, Bibby, Horford, Marvin, ect...

  2. Motion offense is looking good. Joe got most of his points on easy looks. Only a few ISO plays so far. Similar to last game versus Heat.

One thing that's a bit disappointing is that Josh Smith take half of his shot so far in the form of a long jump shot.

Marc Gasol is not playing and Hawks taking advantage of rebounding the ball. Zaza doing good for Horford in foul trouble.

  3. Since the trade, Yunel is playing better: (1) .340 OBP versus .291 OBP for Gonzalez, (2) hitting .275 versus .240 for Gonzales.

Right now the Braves need hitters or someone to even get on base. Gonzales strike out too much, when he's not hitting he doesn't do anything else (eg: take a ball, work the pitcher). With Yunel being here, it decrease the likelihood of an automatic out at the bottom of the order. Same with Blanco.

  4. Chances are slim now that Prado's injured, but I believe the Braves would've had a chance if they didn't trade away Escobar and Blanco. The bottom of the order is not producing anything since the trade. The Braves were hitting and walking like a contender (as hot as the Yankees or Phillies) before those trade and called ups (McClouth, Diaz). Defense in the field can only take you so far...pitching is the only defense that matters anyhow.

  5. I have to believe that Dampier would be an improvement over one (if not all) of the Centers the Hawks currently have on the roster (but, I could be Wrong!)! From what I have read about Dampier the Hawks would probably get more Offense out of Dampier than they will their other Centers but I think he would also give more of a challenge to the Dwight Howard's (NOT Stop but hopefully Slow Down) of the League. Seems to me he might have some health issues but personally I hope the Hawks do attempt to sign him! I keep reading that the Hawks have been looking for ways to get another BIG on their team and this seems to be their opportunity. No, Dampier is not Howard or Shaq (Younger version) but he is probably going to be the best they can do (at least at this time)!

Too bad that big is on the decline. But I agree with you. Dampier is one of those center that Hordford was refering to... the one where he can slide to the 4th spot for most plays without a dropoff in production. However, the Hawks did say that their roster is complete for training camp and no further addition will be made. Dampier will most likely sign with Rockets.

  6. Looks like it's out of reach now.

I don't get why's Hinske not in the lineup against the Phillies? It's not a good idea to rely on McClouth and Ankiel to produce anything. It seems like Hinske the odd man out in the outfield, which is crazy because he have a big part of that run before the allstar break.

After those trade I feel like if the other pitcher contained the 1 thru 5 hitters, they can basically forget about 6 thru 9.
