Well he was correct in saying Dwight never wanted to come to Atlanta or else he would have done that before now.  He is a desperate man and the list of teams that what anything to do with him is pretty/was pretty short in my opinion.

    Thank you for your opinion.

I must say, for better or worse, this has been the first time the Hawks threw caution to the wind to try to contend since the Moses/Theus days over 25 years ago. I fully believe that they will be able to fill out their bench, which is probably the reason why they drafted a pair of wing players in the first place. This is a far cry from the days of Erick Dampier giving BK the Heisman or touting Craig Claxton as our prized free agent acquisition...

I remember when we "got our PG" when we signed Craig.  So sad how few games he played and how bad his jump shot was..

  3. Do we have our own thread?  Lots of doomsdayers on here after the Baze and Howard signing.  We are actually being aggressive for once, swinging for the fences, and taking what we can actually get (we would have never gotten Durant).

This will begin the shift of perception of Atlanta as finally a FA destination.  The system is in place, a great coaching staff, player development,  and an amazing city.  I think if we added Tyler Perry and his empire to the mix we would be unstoppable.

That being said, I think we let the chips fall where they may and go support this new team.  I believe Howard will tear it up and Baze will continue to improve on his game.  Can we fill out a bench?  That is my question.. Not even worried about Horford because we will figure it out.

32, 32, 32!! Proud of the Hawks today!

You guys are remembering things differently from reality. There was not one game where Cleveland was worried about us or what we did defensively.

    Wrong.

Basketball is about matchups.   Cleveland has advantages against Toronto and us.  When they play GS, those advantages disappear.

I think there is a "swagger" factor.  The Cavs come in, disrespect Atlanta, and "know" they are better.  When you have the better players, why not?  Believe it or not, but Bud out coached Lue/LeBron in that series.  We will look back and see that.  I will continue to pound in the idea that if it were not for the historic performance from 3, the Hawks would be in the Finals this year.

  6. Yes, sour grapes.

Cavs have 12 (twelve) 12!!!! Threes in two games versus the raptors and didn't make less than 15 per game against us. Had a game with over 25 threes.

We had the perfect game plan to beat them. Play the percentages. You will literally never see a team shoot like that again.

Makes me sick. This isn't even a series.

  7. It pisses me off that they have all of the ring chasers on that team.

Also got Lebron to come back after crapping on him when he left.

Got the first round pick for Kyrie.

Got the first round pick AGAIN for Wiggins

    Traded for friggin love.

Traded for all of those other great pieces (Smith, Shump, Mozgov--who doesn't even play)

just unreal how they have been able to assemble a team like the New York Yankees with little pushback.

Ever consider that maybe Tyler Perry does not care to be involved? Maybe they have tried but he declined the offer?

Tyler Perry is a pretty serious Christian from my understanding and maybe he considers it pimping himself. I could be way off base but throwing it out there

What does Christianity have to do with any of this?

He also cusses in all of his movies. Let's not make his "faith" an argument.

Also, do you think he didn't take a dime when he did the "Passion" tv special on fox? Cmon man.

  9. I think this was discussed before.  Atlanta could be the new LA (minus the hot chicks).

Tyler Perry has been killing it out here.. Why not try to attract some FA talent to Atlanta via the hip hop scene, the booming movie industry in Atlanta, etc?  You can come get a Max deal in Atlanta, be the man, and be in movies... boost your net worth.  No?

I just don't know why TP hasn't been engaged.  Ludacris, TIP, yes... Perry? No.. Why?

How did we greatly outcoach the Cavs when they set an NBA record for 3s made in a series, in just 4 games?

They were being coached to double the ball handler and collapse the paint on anyone driving, which left 3 point shooters wide open all series.

We don't have the talent to even compete with Cleveland. This was an A- coaching job.

Again, the Cavs were historic from 3... You have scrubs like Jefferson and frye just crushing it from 3.. And if there were any dry spells, someone caught fire (like love or Irving).

It it was just unreal how we kept these games so close.

No, some  of it sits squarely on Bud, to linesup, rotations, sub patterns and playcalls.

The rest on the players  for not playing up to their capabilities and being better come playoff time. 2 years in a row our 'best' players were not better in the playoffs than the regular season.  Just not good enough.

Bud needs coaching school this offseason.

Our best players played terribly. The Cavs were HISTORIC from 3.

And we were in 3 of the games with no superstars. Should had won at least 2 of them.

Yes, hump should have played more.. But bud made some adjustments. We just don't have an elite roster.

We  don't make it to round 2 with Drew or Woody as coach.
