  1. .281 batting average is near nothing with that bat ?

A .281 batting average is nothing to sneeze at.........especially when you combine it with his gold glove and low strike out numbers.

You're talking about a First Baseman though. Not a lot of 1B in the league are that bad in hitting. A first baseman usually has a lot of power and Kotchman has very poor power. He's still young, but his ceiling as a hitter is not that high. Having a first baseman who only hits for average kils a team. That's what his problem was in LA too which is why the Angels ditched him off for Teixeira.

  2. It's sad, but Abraham has got to be the most underrated player in the league. However, I think we've added some more pass rushers so we'd be OK without him, but he is a very big part of our defense. I still think we need an athletic LB and a good CB. However, we got some good safeties (if Moore works out) and we're solid in the trenches.

I think our cornerback core is fine. We lost Foxworth, but I have a good feeling about Von Hutchens and Chris Owings. I have a feeling Owings will be the starting CB by the time the season starts or somewhere close to that time. Remember, last year we had a terrible pass rush. With an improved pass rush by the addition of Peria Jerry and Sidbury along with the return of Trey Lewis, I'm sure our pass rush will help boost our pass defense and take some stress off of our cornerbacks. Also keep in mind that in the Cover 2, the cornerbacks are not as relied upon as some other defenses because they mostly play zone and safeties are integrated into the pass coverage as much as cornerbacks are.

(Boy, talking about football sure gets me fired up for this season...)

  3. I don't think it was his wrist so much as his mind. Dude has a huge hole and no bat speed. Baseball is totally about adjustments. The kid will never make any. He's done. Juan Pierre on the other hand, will have played over a decade when he's done. I think you guys are putting a little too much stock into the Braves and their "scouting". It ain't who or what it used to be.

Woah, I think your'e undervaluing Jordan Schafer there a bit. Although I don't agree that he'll be much of a Grady Sizemore in his career, I do think his ceiling is still quite high with his ability to field, steal bases, and also has considerably a lot of pop in his bat for a center fielder. He was injured all year with a wrist injury, yes. But I also believe he wasn't ready for the majors. He couldn't hit a curve in spring training, but I was willing to look past it because of his potential and the fact that J. Anderson and G. Blanco were not much of an improvement over him. However, I think he will be ready next year and should be a serious contender to win a starting spot in the outfield - probably his old spot which is in center. I think our outfield next year will look something like McLouth at left, Schafer center, and Heyward at right when he is ready.

  4. I want him to fight JMM again.

I don't know, but Manny Pacquiao has already beaten him. I know it was controversial in both fights, but Pacquiao deserves to go after the real cash cows in the higher classes. Marquez has followed Pacquiao wherever he went, but I don't think Pacquiao will fight him. And even if Pac does fight JMM, I don't expect it to be much of a fight at all. With JMM fighting Mayweather in September, I don't think Marquez will have much left in him after that fight. If Pacquiao loses to Cotto, maybe the fight will happen, but Pacquiao doesn't do those fights anymore. He goes after the big fights now, and we all know that Pacquiao is money hungry.

  5. I would rather sign a solid big man first. We would have room for Barnes since we are losing Mario, Gardner, Solo. That would just give us a very strong bench which we need.

    Bibby/ Flip/ Teague

    JJ/ Crawford

    Marv/ Mo/ Barnes

    Smith/

    Horford/ Zaza/ Morris

Flip is no longer on the team.

  6. I got this game. Got bored with it after a week or so. They put too much emphasis on counter punching, so it gets repetitive.

Also, as a word of warning DO NOT ACCEPT ANY FIGHTS WHILE YOU'RE TRAINING FOR ONE ALREADY. Don't schedule a fight when you're in the middle of preparing for a fight, in other words. It's a glitch, and it ruins your legacy like it ruined mine.

  7. Here's my list of shows to watch...

    Dexter

    The Unit

    The Wire

    Six Feet Under

    24

    NCIS

    Burn Notice

    Royal Pains

    Monk

    The Shield

I've already watched every single in Supernatural, House (not this season though, I have to get on that), The Office, and Fringe.

  8. Flip will not be back... I still don't know which big we should go after yet. Some part of me wants to go after Magloire, but then that same part wants me to go after another big if we get Magloire. A bench of Zaza + Magloire doesn't seem to cut it for me...

  9. I really hoped Andersen would get his head out of his *ss and decide to play for us.

At least we got something out of him though. Now that he's not going to play for Atlanta, I wish we s*** on him in Houston if we ever face him.

Does anyone think this was a move that we could have used in the beginning of the free agency when there were more big-time players asking for more money? I think the money will go into a free agent big, but I don't know if we should have waited or not.

  10. I still can't figure out why the Hawks keep drafting foreign players when it does not seem to me that they ever make it to Atlanta.

I think most European players have a bit more upside than the second round picks. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's worth the investment.
