  1. Should we make a run for him in free agency? I think he would be a good back up power foward. much better then Joe Smith. and he's a decent low post scorer. i think we MUST do this.

Yep, we should sign him immediately. He is a better option offensively than Joe Smith and more active around the basket.

He is avging 9 and 7 with 1 block in 22 mins a game.

  2. Any intellegent would 'cry' about the numbers of isos we run...unless its Jordan or someone like that.

Joe could easily get his average off of open ball rotated jump shots and pump and go drives. Why can't he see this?

  3. Come on, Durant is not even close to the playmaker or defender that Lebron has become. Even if he scores as many PPG.

Again how would Durant be better for THIS particular team? Do you guys realize Zaza would start at Center? If we ever hope to win a championship, you have to have post play on both sides of the ball, and we would not have that without Horford. He's not an all world defender but we could do a whole lot worse

Durant remnds me of a young Big Dog Robinson.

  4. I said the same two weeks ago; Mo plays a lot better with the starters because he is a utility type guy that can hit open 3s.

Marvin is too passive with the starters but with the 2nd unit he can be more aggressive.

Not only would I make that move; I would start Jamal. I want to play with leads instead of falling behind and catching up.

You can get 17 pts of the bench from Marvin and Bibby...let Bibby play pick and roll/pop with Joe and ZZ, hopefully that would get more out of them because they are currently giving us nothing.

I don't think Woodson has the balls to do it, though.

  5. Seems to me that everybody is falling for the okadoke...

I was torn.. and this is why.

When we had Manning, we won 57 games. I think that's the most in our franchise's history.

It remains to be seen if we will top that this year. I believe we can, but will we.

The Smitty Mookie Deke team had 2 guys that were the best at what they did. Deke was the best defensive player and Mookie was the best defensive PG (this side of Payton).

Nique, Rivers, Whittman, and Rollins team won 57 games also but is often passed up for the Nique, Moses, Theus team that won 52 games and lost in the first round of the playoffs.

  6. Smoove is slowly easing his way back out towards the three point line. he hasn't shot any yet but is taking more long jumpers as the season goes on. Just an observation.

It's usually against teams with big front lines...Smoove's advantage against bigger guys is that he can face and drive, he can't drive if they play off of him and give him the jump shot.

If Smoove is to reach the next level he has to be able to hit jump shots from 12-15 feet.

  7. The problem isn't the offensive gameplan- is the personnel on offense. Horford doesn't present any problem whatsoever for Howard on Defense so Howard pretty much doesn't even bother to guard him when Horford tries to draw him outside. That means that he is free to roam on defense. If the Hawks had a big who was actually the least bit of a threat from outside it would help a TON. The problem for the Hawks is that the Magic are perfectly happy to let either Horford or Smith shoot from 18 feet out and it means they can take away everything inside.

We simply don't attack Lewis and Howard on the offensive end. Horford and Smoove need to attack the basket and not settle for hooks or jumpers. What happened to Smoove taking two dribbles and trying to break the rim he rarely does that anymore.

Vince gets to guard Marvin, which means he can relax.

Attacking the interior and creating fouls is the way to go. We have to keep the game close. If you watch the Magic, when the game is close Anderson, Redick and Barnes are not nearly as comfortable taking and making threes, but when they get a lead it's like those guys gain confidence because a miss doesn't mean as much when you are up by 10-15.

Defensively, fouling Dwight as much as possible is the key. He gets frustrated and we don't have to double. Be aggresive and push him of the block, if we foul, so what. Al, Z, Collins, Smoove, Joe Smith, that's 30 fouls use'm.

And yeah making Jameer defend Craw is also a good Idea.

  8. Same thing I said in chat tonight. Bibby is just too slow to start and play 27 minutes a night.

If we don't make a move, the only thing we can do to improve is to start Craw and have Bibby run a bunch of pick and rolls when he is with the second unit.

I still think he can be effective as a pick and roll jump shooter against 2nd stringers. If he can get a lot 0f 10-12 ft jumps shots off the bench he can help.

But if we want to get better without making a trade or signing a free agent, we have to move him to the bench and start Craw. (Push Craw's minutes up to 37 and Bibby's to 20).

If Teague would stop making so many simple mistakes and could make a jumpshot we could give him a few extra minutes.

I think that just makes us a deeper, more frightening team....we can then bring an entire second unit in with...

    Blink

    Craw

    Stackz/Evans

    Smith

    Pachulia

nice blend of youth and veteran on the second unit....look at what the Spurs do with older, wily vets

    I'm ALL for it

We better sign him; because if y'all havent noticed we are beginning to use a Craw/JJ backcourt in the 4th. That means that Woody is going to become comfortable with this and JJ's minutes are going to start to climb.

  10. Well obviously we prepare, because he drew up plays according to Lang. So if he drew up plays and the team was expected to follow them then we know they had to practice the play at some point. Like that game showed however offense can come and go. But, defense is a constant.

We avg about 103 pts a game, without "givin a s***" about offense. The only team that avgs more in the East is Tor and the give up 2 pts more than they score.

So maybe Woodson is right if you play D like I want you to, then that 100 pt avg is more than enough to win games. Who cares how we score 100?

  11. Priest Lauderdale! He was like 7'4"... SHEED!!! :))))

Yeah, Rodney Monroe, I was certain this dude would light up the NBA off the bench, dude avg 27 pts his senior year; boy was I wrong.

How is Barry biased, what does he have to gain by pointing out the Hawks weak spots?

Boston had obvious weak spots last night also, he just was not as vocal about it. That is all I'm saying.

  13. Well, after this game against Orlando, it looks like John Barry knew exactly what he was talking about

Jon Barry's biased observations about the Celtics Hawk game has nothing to do with tonights game.

I WAS REFERRING TO HIS CALL OF THE GAME LAST NIGHT....LOL
