  1. I'm sorry, but whenever the Braves play on Peachtree TV I cringe. I can't enjoy Chip at all and I get the vibe that Joe doesn't like calling games with him either. I don't know what it is exactly. Maybe that horrible, Ace Ventura type laugh that goes on for hours after a joke, or when he tries to bring up a point that makes hardly any sense, and if it does, its a mute point that lacks any interest at all. Or maybe its his constant drooling of the 'elite' teams. I remember when the Braves were playing the Red Sox and the Sox did something great late in the game, and Chip said "You gotta love that". Are you serious? Imagine his father saying something like that?

Boog on the other hand, he's insightful, funny at times, his laugh doesn't make me want to punch kittens, and more importantly, he realizes that Braves fans are the majority of his viewers.

Which talking head do you guys prefer to be at Joe Simpson's right?

  2. I like the deal. Seems reasonable. Although now everything he does wrong on the court will have a tread started. Ugh.

If Teague becomes a good NBA PG, we have significantly upgraded over last year. The only thing I worry about is will Crawford have the same killer attitude that Flip had? Guess time will tell!

I think he will have a more extreme killer attitude than Flip, maybe even to a fault. And by 'killer attitiude', I mean, "a frequent ball hog who will try to score no matter what" (kinda like Flip).

  3. I think this will take a long time like how last year took a while for JS and Chilz only for the fact that he's a RFA. We wait for someone to make their move, then we match, or not. Its not like MW is that important. If someone wants to overpay for him, let them. We could spend our money better. MW doesn't bring much to the table. A few jumpers and thats it. Defense is suspect and his drive to the hole is painful to watch. Your almost waiting for him to injure himself.

  4. I get what you guys are saying about the 2010 cap and all, but I think the TC is basically saying that JJ shouldn't be "THE GUY" that we build around because if we do, we will be what we are right now. JJ is good enough to be a piece that we use to build with (support roll), and not a piece that we build around (THE MAN).

With that said, he will be to expensive to play a support role so our best bet is to cut ties with JJ when that time comes and hope we find a diamond somewhere down the road (like Indy did with Granger who I like way better than JJ). Basically, JJ will handicap this team if we give him what he thinks he deserves because we all know that a JJ led team is not capable of winning a ring, and thats what its all about.

  5. This is good news because he can still come back in time for the playoffs. This also forces Woody to use the bench which will give our guys like Acie and Mario more confidence when playoff time comes.

I agree 100%, but this only applies if Acie uses him minutes positively and not negatively. There is a chance that Acie's confidence is reduced farther if he doesn't take advantage of the time he's going to get. With that said I really like what I've seen from him so far.

  6. 3 Vs 3. Of course its really 9 Vs 9 but I'm talking 3on3 over Live/PSN instead of 1on1 when it comes to actual real players. When your team is batting, each player rotates when it comes to the batting order and if you get on base, you control the base runner. Its cool because its a lot more realistic to only concentrate on baserunning or batting, not both. If you have a situation where bases are loaded, the batter would control the man on 3rd.

    Lets move on to fielding...

Easy. One person controls the pitcher and catcher...another controls the in-field, and the other controls the outfield. I know everyone would want to be the pitcher, but maybe there could be a system where players rotated positions to keep everyone happy.

Now the fun part....tear my idea to shreds. GO!!!!

  7. I'm a little upset that they weren't able to get Burnett, but I'm glad we didn't overspend for him though. We offered 80 million to that guy and he's not worth that all. I'm glad the Yankees outbid us. I'm still looking for the Peavy deal to poke its head out again. Other than that, I don't really see what we can do. Throw the bank to Wells? Hell no. That guy wants over 16 million a year. I want 16 million a year as well, but I ain't gonna get it and neither should he. I don't know what Wren can do. He should give JS office a visit.

  8. Unless it's changed this year, you don't always get the home teams broadcasters. So far this season in both of our games that has been the case, but there were MANY times last year where the Hawks were at home and we'd get the other teams announcers.

I don't think that Nique was all that biased in his announcing.

If you live in Atlanta you always get the Hawks announcers. Of course, I'm not talking about NBA League Pass, but that really doesn't matter. No matter what your getting some teams home town announcers and you should expect them to be bias towards their city. The only time an announcing crew should be obligated to being unbiased is if the game is on ESPN, ABC, TNT, or NBA TV because its directed to a national audience.

  9. That makes me think he might not know what he is talking about. Smith is only a decent defender. He is no where near the class of the top defenders in this league.

Nowhere near? I agree that he can be a better one on one defender but he is up near the top when it comes to DPOY. The guy blocks the hell out of everything and even when he doesn't get a block you get players changing their shots and throwing up garbage because they know he's there about to stuff'em.
