  1. You guys do realize that sony loss more money than they made with the ps4 right?

Even though the ps4 out sold microsofts xb1 by far sony has not made a profit off their ps4 and they are constantly losing very large numbers of money (i believe it's in the millions)

I too have a ps4! So this isn't coming from a Xbox fanboy.

I know that may be hard to believe but trust me...I argued this with others until I did my own research and sony is indeed not making a good profit off of their ps4. Read this: http://ps4daily.com/2013/11/playstation-4-cost-to-build/

How dumb is that?...You make a 381 dollar system and sell it for 399! Good thing they have billions.

Need more proof? Read this latest article on how sony loss 1.26 billion overall....http://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps4-sales-look-strong-but-sony-expects-to-make-another-loss-next-year/1100-6419620/

Love my ps4 but that's crazy to outsell your rival by far margins and not make a huge profit.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are sold at a loss, but that's not what Sony nor Microsoft are concerned about. They purposely sell at a loss to acquire a large install base.  Most of the money is actually made in software sales and licensing fees.

  2. Looks like Monroe was more upset as a Piston than pissed on.

Well this sure does explain why he was tired being Piston.

Like they say, better to be pissed off than Piston.

Please someone help me I can't stop with these corny jokes.

What an invasion of privacy, I can't believe this story got leaked.

It is relieving knowing Monroe didn't hurt anyone though.

  3. LOL, I stand corrected good sir.  Surely...there is a considerable marketing concern for decent Asian ball players.  Is that a true positive context though?

"We get that Chinese kid, we'll more Asian draw for this team."  Is that more acceptable or politically correct than wanting more white draw?  Is that a more pressing concern over what this guy can actually do for the team?  Personally, I wouldn't want Dante Exum because he brings Australian or international marketability and exposure.  As a fan, I want a player because he can ball his ass off and he's a good fit.

There's nothing inherently wrong or politically incorrect with wanting more draw among demographic groups or seeking out resources to increase interest levels among said groups. It's what advertising is all about. When businesses want more sales, they evaluate demographics and strategize accordingly to accommodate for any bodies that could see improvement. I see no difference in a team hiring a player for marketing purposes and a celebrity being hired to market a product, service, or organization because it has the same effect. This isn't defending Levenson, what he did was stereotype African Americans and viewed them as incompatible with white people.

I agree with you that a player's talent and fit is what should decide his signing, but not all organizations have this mindset. Winning basketball is more important to the Mavericks and their owner as apposed to... well, us and our ownership.

Surely I would want a GM and ownership group making decisions along the same line of thought.  Moreover, in light of our own saga, how does this spin positive context to bringing up Deng's "little African" nationality...?  Especially when you examine the actual reported context around the comment. Unless they were having a conversation about how to make the team more internationally diverse...in which case, why would that comment be so out of place as to cause such a crapstorm?

There is no positive context for our situation, I wasn't trying to imply that. There is no excuse for what was said and I will not defend it. I was simply answering the question you posted as to why the nationality of a free agent might sometimes come into play during free agency.

  4. I'm in the Gwinnett area (around 30 miles from Atlanta) and I try to make it out to ~5 games a season. Between going to school full time and working part time, I can't really find the time to attend more unfortunately.

Once I finish my degree and get a real job, the Hawks have themselves a new season ticket holder.

  5. looks like a bad Photoshop to concern fans. Pride not dropped

It's the yearly Adidas catalog and it's not a Photoshop as bad as it may look. Here it is in its entirety and an ESPN link spotlighting this year's changes before the catalog was leaked. Pride dropped.

It doesn't even have the Hornets jerseys inserted and those were released over a month ago.  I believe the sleeved jersey are still a go.  I really wonder what wording will be used across the chest if Portland had rip city and Detroit had Motor City.  Hotlanta is the only nickname that comes to mind.

The catalog was revised and sent out the day before the Hornets jerseys were officially unveiled thus blank placeholders. The sleeved jerseys are still a go and Portland has already revealed theirs.

  6. Idea of a six year timetable with Al and Sap is hilarious. If Sap is still here, we won't see Al in three years in Atlanta.

It's a hypothetical, replace Millsap with Josh for the 6 seasons he played here with Horford. The same time table, not just 6 years from the present.

    Top 5 what?

Sap is a duplication of Horf.  While Smoove thought he had the same problem, Sap is not as good in transition as Smoove and not as good a passer as Smoove.

If you told me how you were planning to observe this top 5, maybe we would be able to debate this more carefully.

    Top 5 in offensive EFF.

  7. I will bet you 200 dollars via paypal that this tandem of Horf/Sap WILL NOT be in the top 5 of offensive efficiency next year.

    @Dolfan23

Book it if he's willing to agree to the bet.

You keep talking about 29 games as if Sap isn't clearly a better offensive player than Smoove.

Considering how good Sap is on offense, we should be in the top 5 of offensive efficiency but the fit with Horf isn't there at ALL.

When did I say anything about next year? If there's someone willing to bet that, let me get some money in on it too. Maybe I could have worded it better, but if you were to replace Smith with Millsap over the same 6 year timetable, Horford/Millsap would reach top 5 easily.
