  1. So Miller scoring 52 proves he wouldve been the facilitator this team needs ? hahahaha

    No

And I knew someone would be a smart *ss about me using tonights stats. But it's not tonights stats that tell the story.... Miller has 7+ assist in 15 games this year compared to just 7 games for Bibby. Miller can penetrate defenses to really open up the offense. Bibby would be a perfect fit if he was making his shots, but he's not. He's hitting just 32% of his threes this month and that is just not gonna cut it. So you can laugh all you want, but obviously if you watch basketball, you know who the better PG is at this point in their careers. Do you deny that Miller is better than Bibs?

  2. This game was over but Joe just had to try and match Crawford shot for shot. Why does he lack confidence in himself and his position with the team? He should know he will get the big contract and that he is better than Jamal. There is no need for him to try so hard to show Jamal up. He was doing just fine through 3 periods before he started forcing it... Which caused him to miss everything. He needs a good talking to. But this was a good win. I admit, I thought they'd fold to a hot Charlotte team.

This is the first time since coming to this forum that I've agreed with you. Your take is spot on!

  3. yeah, the Hawks whopping 3 more wins shows that it aint even possible. A whole 3 wins. The problem with fans is that they're biased. It' s kind of head scratching to see some act like this team is doing great when it's just a few above .500 since the start of December. The team is playing worse and worse as the season goes along. But hey, they can squeak by an aging and injured Boston team so they must be top notch.

And that makes you happy doesn't it, troll?

  4. The hawks have only won 3 more games in a weaker conference. The thunder are 15-4 against the east. Outside of a buzzer beater against a free falling Suns team and a couple of wins against a badly beat up Boston team, this team hasn't done much in the last month. I don't know why it's so hard for other people to see. Durant is way better than Joe and Westbrook is far better than Bibby and they play better defense and they rebound better.

    The Hawks are 11-4 against that 'tougher conference;

  5. Apparently one of the staff members got offended by me somehow, not sure how though, and changed my sig and avatar to make it look like I'm homosexual. Not that I have anything against homosexuals, but it doesn't give me the option of removing it in my user settings. Big Ha-Ha's.

    That's pretty childish.

  6. We trade him and we lose in the first round...why, because we'll be the 8th seed facing Cleveland.

Like it or not, it's either Joe or mediocrity. I'll take Joe everyday of the week if it means my team has a 'chance.'

For the last time WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE JOE. It is what it is, but he's the best we'll get and I'm fine with that.

If you wanna blame someone, blame woody for not emphasizing the 'pass'

  8. So we lack an identity ? what are you talking about ? We are top ten team in the nba in assists you really should just stop while you are ahead .

48 minute stats mean little as no one averages 48 mpg . Do you really believe that if we played Teague 48 mpg he would average 9 assists per game . Im sure Ridnour ,Telfair and other perennial backups fans would say the same thing but it doesnt mean that would be whats best for the team .

You seem to think that somehow if we start teague the ball would flow through Teague over Joe and thats just ridiculous . If the argument was start Teague because we could get out into the transition faster and increase our pace then I could buy that argument but it would still come down to Teague not being anywhere near as good as Bibby in the halfcourt .

Teague hasnt shown he can shoot the three or get to the line, has trouble finishing and considering hes not a pure pass first pg hes not gonna get many consistent minutes on any team without showing improvement in those areas but still Woody has gotten him in against certain matchups .

He plays well against Boykins and people want him matched up against the 6'4 Foye ? 6'6 nick young ? seriously .....

Woody is doing a great job with Teague and I expect to see him more after the all star break . Hes gotten spot minutes and will have a chance to see all the team and players at least once . We have one 4 game trip right after the all star break and then start feeding Teague consistent minutes as we have no more than 2 road games in a row the rest of the season.

This post really made me laugh. For one, we do not have an identity, but continue to look at the stat sheets and assume because were a 'top ten' team in assist, we must run a 'tight' offense. Please.....This team has NO identity on offense, I guess you could argue we have a transition game, but that is spotty at best. So PLEASE save your mediocre simplistic thoughts about our offense.

48 min stats DO matter. Trying to compare Teague to Ridnour and Telfair is laughable....Teague plays great defense, and if you don't see that he would be one of the top in steals at PG if he got adequate playing time you're obviously just not watching the same game I am.

As far as you saying the ball would not move through him but rather through JJ....... I understand your sentiment, but were not a great half-court team, maybe if we had a point guard that could facilitate rather than sit on the three point line, we could have better sets. If you're happy with mediocrity, I don't know what to tell you.

I agree that Teague has been terrible from three, but what do you expect from a guy that gets 2-3 minutes a game and a lot of DNP's in the box score? As far as getting to the line, you're dead wrong about that one. He's shot over 25 FT's in limited playing time while knocking them down at an 87% clip. What exactly do you expect?!?! Earl Boykins in not the only PG he's played well against pleaseeee......he kept one of the quickest and most athletic guard (Rondo) in front of him when givin' the opportunity. You act as though Teague is 5'11" NEWSFLASH: He's 6'2"!!! Taller than Bibby, haha.

And finally, this quote is what made me realize you are either high, delusional, or downright crazy...'Woody is doing a great job with Teague'

Anyone who has watched our games and came to that conclusion CANNOT be serious! If you really think he's done a good job with Teague, you need to get your eyes checked! You must think Woody is a good x's and o's coach as well, lol.

I understand the argument against Teague starting, but to argue that he is getting plenty of playing time is just dumb and I cannot continue to entertain peoples delusional thoughts. Teague should AT LEAST be getting 13-15 minutes a game, otherwise will have another Acie on our hands in no time.

  9. Development...development...development. C'mon guys...really. I hope Teague becomes the best PG of all time for our Hawks. But the truth is he was about the 5th or 6th PG taken in the draft - reason - he can't shoot from the perimeter (AVG). Sure, he hits one now and then to excite the lovers - but his perimeter game is pretty bad. Not something a coach can trust.

We all have to realize that we see our guys in games for the most part. Woody sees Bibby hitting 9-10 threes in practice and also knows he has the pedigree to hit them (not 9-10...but good) in big games. Woody will never forget the 0-15 Teague had in pre-season.

Development is all well and good - depending on if you are developing the right guy.

What does a PG need to do?

    1. Run the offense - be the QB. 2. Hit clutch shots when necessary 3. Be able to pass to your explosive players (get assists) 4. Be fast/quick and defend opposing PGs.

Bibby is still 3 for 4. I remember when Speedy (healthy) DOMINATED Deron (Utah) as far as quickness went...to the point that they had to have the SG bring the ball up. They still beat us.

Sure he was the fifth PG taken, but many were saying he was a huge steal where we got him. Besides, you act as though draft order is equal to their success. Where you are drafted means nothing. For crying out loud, Marvin was taken before Chris Paul...Greg Oden before Kevin Durant. Drafts are usually a crap shoot.

Teague is 3rd in the NBA in steals per 48, 11th in the league in assist per 48. He can penetrate the ball and make passes in the lane that breakdown defenses, Bibby cannot. That is going to be critical, especially for a team that lacks an identity and ball movement. Say all you want to about Bibby, but he is slow and gets manhandled by most PG's.

As far as Speedy goes, I've never seen him dunk a basketball with the authority that Teague can. That to me is a REALLY bad comparison. Our backup 'point guard' who plays 30 minutes a game **cough** Crawford **Cough** is avg 2.6 assist a game. That's abysmal! Teague gets that in 7 minutes on the floor. That fact of the matter is he is not given a chance! We have enough good players on this team that can make 'the shot' Teague should be getting more minutes cause it will only make us better come playoff time

I really hate when people give up on a player when they haven't even got a chance.

    Sad.
