Nice to hear us gettin' some respect for once....
-
WOW
Chris Gay of the Augusta Chronicle who has been following this dude for years went out of his way to email me last week out of the blue to tell me Siler was going to be an Atlanta Hawk next season.
He told me Siler had a commitment this year but ownership wanted to save money and carry one less man.
1 +1 = 3 here it seems. Somebody has some 'splaining to do.
Lots of 'splaining....

Well Mo hasn't exactly been amazing lately, but I'm all for a change. Hell, maybe it would light a fire in Marvin...

Teams are adjusting to Josh going to the basket all the time now. I think it's one reason why he's finding it tougher to score inside compared to him seemingly scoring at ease at the start of the season.
Or it just had to do with Samuel Dalembert .

With the way Orlando shut us down in the 2nd half, only Lebron, Kobe, Bosh, or someone in that mold could have kept us in it. Definetely not Chilz.
Orlando didn't shut anyone down. Hawks simply couldn't make a shot. Orlando's defense had nothing to do with it.

3.Joe Johnson IS NOT worth 14 Million..can you say Larry Hughes?
WOW
This ranks high up on my list of stupid post....sorry.

Good bounce back game. Glad to see they turned the page and came out strong tonight. That separates the weak from the strong. Go Hawks!!!
-
Vince (aka Hawks Killer) is the winner. The guys has always did his thing vs the hawks. Loosing to the Magic by less than 20 is a win in my book.
haha

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

I know, it's a little early, but I would like to gauge exactly what everyone thinks this teams potential record can be.
First, state what you think the Hawks final regular season record will be. Second give a reason that would 'in your opinion' substantiate your view. Feel free to also write how deep into the playoffs you think this team will/could go.
Okay, I'll start first....
Regular season record: 58-24
Although we have gotten off to a fast start, I see us coming back down to earth a little bit. One reason I feel this way, is I think it's nearly impossible to avoid injuries as a team and at some point we will probably lose at least a few key pieces. Hopefully it's for a relatively short period of time though. This is a tough and well balanced team, but our January schedule is going to be really tough and I think that will contribute to a slight fall off. I do feel that we are going to make that leap to be one of the top three teams in the east, with Boston being the odd man out. I see it finishing; Orlando, Cleveland, Atlanta, Boston.
I think we can make a deep run in the playoffs as long as our fast break offense and points in the paint keep up at this torrid pace. We will be a very tough team to beat come playoff time and I don't think there will be any team that will want to draw us. However, if we wanna take that next step and be title contenders, our defense MUST improve. If we can curb our defense and continue our points in the paint, we'll certainly be in the conversation for Eastern Conference Champs!
Oh yeah, one other thing, Hawks fans need to show up to the games and make Phillips be a place no one wants to play--we need that playoff atmosphere!
-
Yep . . . because Boston made us look like a YMCA team about 2 weeks ago . . .
Oh wait . . . . ( thinking )
PWNED

Way to go Sir Charles! It's about time someone called them out!

LOL@hotlanta
He is hilarious. He would still find something wrong even if we won a championship..lol
Yeah, something to the effect of 'we won the championship, but there is no way we repeat'
haha
-
There is no doubt in my mind if Doug Collins stayed, he would have won a championship with that team. Phil is overrated. He's a good coach but he is still overrated.
-
Why was he scoring at a high rate in the preseason if he was no good? This isn't the NFL....in NBA preseason you play against NBA teams front lines. I'm not worried about him, he simply needs more playing time.
-
Good to hear he's day to day. I feared it was a high ankle sprain. Must be low though. Hopefully he's back for the Orlando game.
-
I was kinda skeptical when Bibby said during the summer that he ran all the plays. After tonight's game, I'm really believing that he is the field general and Woody just lets him run what he wants to run.
It's sad really. This team could be a lot better if we didn't have to rely on ISO Joe.
I mean what does Woody expect? He play Joe 45 minutes last night, they took a late flight and we clearly see the results. Joe had no bounce in his step whatsoever. Sad.
-
Tonight Woody reminded me of that deer that I hit with my car last summer.
-
The quality of play on court is looking more and more like last years team. Yes. This team isn't going to have the best record in the NBA before long. This team will have the same basic situation as last year by the end of this year.
Were 11-3....THE SKY IS FALLING.....BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
I'm glad to see them finally get the support they deserve. If we can keep this up, I'm sure the band wagoners will fill the seats.
-
Teams with defensive bigs and shooters will give us trouble. That includes some sorry teams too. Teams like Charlotte, NO, and yes Boston. We dominated Boston because we out rebounded them... it will take that kind of effort everytime we go out against those type of teams. Our strength is in our rebounding and our shot selection. With that, here are the teams that will give us trouble:
Lakers,
Celtics,
Bobcats
Orlando
NO
Here's some maybes:
Cavs
Sactown
Portland
Milwaukee
Houston
Philly
Denver
Healthy NJ
Still, if we get hot, there's not many teams that can stand in our wake.
New Orleans???
-
Anderson is overrated and a poor rebounder. Zaza > DA
ISO JOE wins the game

88 minutes back to back nights is not good. On the road it's understandable, but vs the Knicks at home, bad move. Teague should have got more minutes.
Nice win though.
