  1. It's not an overreaction. It's pretty spot on. These final games are meaningless only in the sense that they won't have any bearing on who we're facing in the playoffs. But performing like professionals NEVER is meaningless. That was an f'ing abomination of hard work, chemistry and professionalism. I am literally to the point that I am starting to find it hard to cheer for this organization. From the Atlanta spirit debacle, to the misses on superstars with our drafting, to coaches that can't motivate our players to a seeming lack of guts by our players. Call me what you will. I might be a broken record but this team needs new ownership and a complete facelift as far as our identity. Until then, I am a casual observer who feels let down by the team I have loved to cheer for for so many years.

Some of you need to take a moment and look in the mirror .

How many teams lose on the second night of back to back ?

Last nights loss wasnt an indicator of professionalism thats just ridiculous . It pretty much points a big spotlight on just how little quality depth this team has .

A turnover is not professional ? what about a missed shot ? Point out exactly what tells you that our players were being unprofessional ?

It seems that your comments have more to do with your problems with management, ownership whatever than our players showing a lack of professionalism in last nights game.

  2. OK, OK, OK...I know this game was meaningless, but c'mon...show a little pride and professionalism. I got the feeling from the getgo that most of the players were jealous of Smoove for having a sore knee. The game was a total discombobulated mess...actually an embarrasment. We lost by 30 points to a lottery team with basically the same roster we previously beat Chicago with (Smoove out both times). Our interior defense stunk like three day old roadkill, the few times we had fast break opportunities we looked like a bunch of eighth-graders - all just running directly at the basket and fumbling the ball around, and our overall offensive scheme looked totally out of sync.

Where is the pride to at least be competitve and run your sets and work on defense? You would think we were the top seed and all arrogant and stuff. But, of course, top seeds don't pull that kind of BS.

I was worried about our team's "heart"...but now I wonder about our team's simple work ethic. Honestly, after watching this I wonder if our team (let's say down 3-2 against ORL) will even have the guts to try and win two in a row - or will they just fold for the extra time off.

And as far as LD goes...either he can't motivate or he has pretty much given up. He sits there and just watches. When he calls a logical timeout when the opposition is making a run he still looks like an undertaker.

    Maybe I'm over-reacting to a meaningless game...:kickcan: I dunno....

Youre overreacting to a meaningless ROAD game at the end of the season

I dont know why anyone is complaining about a playoff team who basically let everyone know they are resting for the playoffs going on the road and losing to a losing team in full stat pad mode playing in front of there home crowd .

We finished the season 3-1 against the wizards .

  3. Nice read although the play they gave as a example wasnt an isolation play just a PF chucking a long jumpshot with ten seconds on the clock .

I also noticed although that clip was at the start of the game I didnt see kirk call a play as he brought the ball up .

Kirk pushes up the ball and waits for the trailers

Al trailing the play sets a high screen for kirk

kirk takes the screen and pases it back to Al at the ft line extended

Al takes the pass fakes at the basket and looks to hand it off

He hands it off to Teague and sets a screen for Teague

Teague takes the screen and passes it back to AL

Al 18 feet out fakes at the basket and then passes to Josh in the corner

Josh shoots a 18 ft jumpshot with 10 seconds on the clock

We seem to move the ball around without a clear defined purpose at times .

  4. Im a litle confused. He keeps saying he wants momentum going into the playoffs, but then he says he wants to rest his guys.

Which is it? Go for the win or rest guys and dont care about the outcome? Personally, I think he should rest key players and

get the bench some time and get them confident. This way if we lose, it's no biggie. I think "momentum" going into the playoffs

means nothing if you burn out your starters in the process.

Jump out early on these teams and put them away and allow the bench to get extended minutes .

  5. Who said the Hawks didnt isolate ?

Compared to last season we havent ran much isolation this season for Joe and jamal this season.

I believe LD before I believe Brown or Cylde as he knows what the actual play call is .

Big difference between the playcall being an isolation and a player basically holding onto the ball and doing whatever they want which is exactly what LD pretty much said in terms of Joe .

Every single team in the nba runs isolations again people need to learn the difference between a poorly executed plays weve ran this year and a designed isolation play like Woody was running.

  6. We havent seen much isolation this season . People need to learn the difference between simple nba spacing an actually isolation.

The problem wasnt isolations just as the problem now isnt the motion offense . The problem is we have ignored the development of our bigs and now they simply dont fit into any style of play .

We wouldve been better off bringing Al,Josh,Joe,Jamal,Teague ,Zaza etc in hiring some developmental coaches and work extra hard on helping our bigs develop better footwork and understanding of the two man game.

We took the ball out of our best offensive players hands in favor of under developed bigs with limited offensive skills and now we are paying for it .

  7. Jamal is delusional if he thinks he doesn't go out and force shots lol

actually his shots are down way down actually . We arent gonna get far with him coming out against team like the Bulls or the Heat and taking 4 shots .

13-4 when he scores over 20 points this year

23-9 last year when he scored 20 points or more

when you factor in a contract year and the fact that last year he averaged 14 shots per game

This year hes taking 11 shots per game

last month he averaged 9 shots per game

I dont know how anyone can say that he is forcing shots trying to get his nimbers up for a new contract .

  8. This is absurd...selfish attitude? Like what do you mean? The other guys jack up perimiter shots like crazy and when Smoove shoots one he is selfish? Heck - ask Horford - you better be a little bit selfish on this team or you will never get a shot. Smoove is actually one of the better forwards in the league when it comes to assists.

The thing you Smoove H8ters CAN'T "get over" is that you are wrong. Dead arsed wrong in every argument you make.

How he treats his teammates? What would you know about that? How he treats his coaching staff? LOL - Zaza cussed at LD (F-Bomb I believe) the other night right on the court. This isn't tiddly winks...guys get jazzed every now and then. Most people understand these things.

You folks should just be honest and come right out and say that you don't like Smoove - no matter what he does. :kickcan:

    ]

Your entire post is exactly what people are complaining about and sounds exactly in line with his thinking ..........and why he is always overlooked when people think all star

  9. IMO last night was the perfect example of what JJ was talking about when he said they have to know and understand who should be getting the ball in certain situations . This is exactly the type of game we would play last year and this year Smoove has just gotten attached to those long jumpshots and holding onto the ball. I have no doubt he will bounce back he just has to realize that sometimes this team needs him to be and play like a bigman .

  10. Teague.

    Joe

    Marvin

    Horford

    Collins

Bench: Smoove, Jamal, Hinrich and Zaza........ This will balance our team similar to Spurs and Lakers......

thats one heck of tanking lineup there.

Why would we be starting Teague other than the fact that we are young ? Starting Collins,Teague ,and Marvin is a recipe for disaster and would only magnify the issues that Joe and Al already have .

  11. LOL typical hawks fans trying to blame a guy who comes off the bench over there precious ....."core"

College is irrelevant the fact is that our 3 best players in the starting lineup simply do not bring there A games every game . jamal is irrelevant thats the difference

How many games does Dwight take off ?

    Wade ? lebron ?

    Kobe ? Gasol ?

    Rose ? Noah ?

    Rondo ?KG ? Pierce ? Allen ?

How many games have our big three all played well at the same time ?

Why is it for someone to have a great game and for us to get the win one of the other two must always be out or in foul trouble ?

But no Ill blame Bibby ,Marvin Crawford ,Zaza,Twin,Teague ,Kirk and totally ignore the fact that our 3 best players dont seem to compliment each other at all.

  12. Josh played well you can really see him at least trying to make more plays around the basket and thats all I ask .

Marvin was aggressive and didnt settle for jumpshots too . He got in there and threw that weight around ...props

All around good game as we took control and never gave it back. Lets see if we can build on a nice weekend and carry it over into the first of the month.

  13. last year we went 7-3 in our final 10 lets see if we can beat that Id love to see this team show some resolve and grab another 50 win season . ....better yet lets just build some momentum

  14. (sigh)

Being aggressive should have nothing to do with a scoring points for a CENTER in the NBA.

Against the Bulls Al wasnt putting on some low post moves clinic like Hakeem would do he was ultra aggressive and went after every rebound after every loose ball kinda like Noah for the Bulls . That level of hustle combined with his offensive skills translated to a monster game . Being a smaller team thats what we need him to bring more of but we also need JJ and Josh to bring a similar type energy and we need jamal to get back to doing the same as 6th man .

  15. I was totally with you until the last sentence. Crawford leaving can only make our bench better. His production for his $10 million he's making this season is a joke. I'd rather have Flip back at this point.

We are not asking him to produce anymore weve asked him to submit and he has .

Last year we asked him to be instant offense and to come in the game ultra aggressive and now weve asked him to come in and to setup Josh Powell for shots or Marvin and to overall give up shots to weaker offensive players . As I said hes down to 7 shots per game from last years 14 shots per game now over the past month so of course his production is gonna be down .

Last year Woody used jamal to perfection in terms of that he made sure he got jamal going when the starters were off the floor even if it meant Mo or Zaza got one or two fewer touches because he knew that jamal as good for nice 10+ point run in the second and end of 3rd quarters .

One example I can recall recently is the Nuggets game . In the 2nd quarter Jamal scored 7 straight points and we opened up a 12 point lead with the starters on the bench . He then didnt touch the ball for the next 4 possessions and they cut the lead back down to 5 and Drew called a timeout and called a set play for jamal out of the time out but he missed . The Nuggets would continue that run taking the lead a couple of minutes later AND WE NEVER REGAINED THE LEAD .

Now against the Bucks Joe got hot in the second and we milked Joe the entire quarter and it wasnt just isolations we moved the ball and got him shots from all over the court .

Thats what we did last year thats missing which is what Joe hinted at which is recognize where the ball should be going and then working as a unit to get it there consistently

  16. Ive said this before when Josh decides he is gonna be our Dennis Rodman he is a all star player and potential all Nba caliber player its when he decides hes Scottie Pippen that hurts the team .

I think at this point the jealousy he has for Al and JJ are simply too great for him to overcome and commit to being Rodman on this team.
