  1. Don't listen to realhawksfan! He is my roommate and he is a Cavs fan and talks a lot of noise about our beloved Hawks
  2. Hey squakers, not sure if you'll think this is crazy but I just watched espn's 30 for 30 on Paul Westhead called guru of go. Not sure if anyone else will agree, but atl IS known as an up and down team and Paul Westhead runs the system better than anyone else (IMHO). He's also the only coach to win an NBA and WNBA title (he's coaching for phx's WNBA team right now), not to mention he's coached tons of superstars and has proven he can win with the right team. He probably would love an opportunity to coach in the NBA again, plus with expiring contracts and the probability of JJ leaving, we could possibly restructure to be a more system-type team. Just an idea, but any thoughts?
  3. Definitely agree. Do we really want a player on the team that doesn't want to be here? We can definitely sign and trade for a quality starter somewhere in the league, especially with this free agency.
  4. I am reading all these threads about what needs to happen this offseason and the who we should take in the upcoming draft....but did you guys forget we have a game 4 to play tonight?!?! The whole JJ, Woody, and other moves that need/might happen will play itself out and we will have plenty of time to debate that when that time comes. Now I'm not delusional, I know we probably will be lose this game but if we somehow get a W tonight we most def will lose game 5. All I am saying is lets root our guys on like we always have throughout the years and hope they come and play with some heart in what will most likely be our last game of the 2009-2010 season.
  5. The past 2 games were some of the best basketball the Hawks have played all year, which leads me to the question every hawks fan is thinking....What Hawks team will show up at the Bradley Center Saturday night? Will it be the team that won 53 games this year and will play our game on the road and will continue to take advantage of the undersized Bucks and sticking with the game plan of feeding Al and Smoove......or will it be the team that just doesn't seem interested in closing out teams when they have them on the ground and wants to drag the series longer than it should be? Your thoughts Hawks fans....
  6. I hear what your saying but every time we decide to put Rio on the opposing teams top player it usually consists of west getting into foul trouble and sending the opposing player to the strip. Now I know west getting into foul trouble doesn't matter considering he is basically the last guy off the bench outside of collins, but why not just give the duty of guarding Jennings to Teague? Teague is quick enough to stay in front of him as well can make Jennings work on the defense end. Either way I don't think Jennings will have the type of game he had in game 1 the rest of the series, and even if he does we still can win the game. Only way the Bucks win any game in this series is if both Jennings and either Salmons or Stack are on fire. Can't wait till game 2 tomorrow. GO HAWKS!!
  7. No spotatl I'm definitely not a Bucks fan by any stretch of the imagination. I put the disclaimer first before I said anything regarding the head coach that I usually don't like threads about next year when this year is still going on. I agree it might be bad timing but lets be honest we all love/hate Woody so I figured id ask. Also we have had JJ free agency threads all year long so it is what it is. Either way I'm ready for game 2 and lets GO HAWKS!!
  8. I usually don't like talking about next year when this season is still going on, but I can't help but think about who should be our head coach next year if Woody is gone. What are some names that you guys would be interested in.....Tom Thibodeau? Avery Johnson? Mo Cheeks?(good PG himself and has done wonders with Westbrook so should help Teague) Eddie Jordan and his Princeton offense? Or maybe some college coaches? lets hear your thoughts Hawks fans.....
  9. I definitely agree with JTB on this one. Every team that made the playoffs did so because they are a good team and deserved to be here. Plus this is the NBA and every team makes a run, its just being able to withstand it and still play your game.....I actually think its a good thing the Bucks made a run at us in the second half, because it will give us the focus and intensity for game 2 like we had for game 1. Last year after owning the Heat in game 1, we came out in the second game overconfident and completely laid an egg.Game 1 was A CLEAR INDICATOR that we are better at every position than the bucks outside out PG(except if Bibs plays the way he did in game 1 then we might take this position as well) and if we play our game WE SHALL HAVE NO PROBLEM in game 2 and the rest of the series. GO HAWKS!!!
  10. I have been a follower of Hawksquawk for awhile now, but this is my first actual post. I think Teague has shown flashes of being a good player when he has had to opportunity to play. Yes, his jumpshot is skeptical right now and he occasionally forces too much, but his ability to drive to the basket and his quickness is bar far the best of anyone on the team. Woody for some reason just doesn't trust young players and won't play them unless absolutely necessary, which is just one of the the many faults he possesses. This is not the NFL where sitting out a whole year benefits the player for the future. Now I'm not saying we need to start Teague over Bibs but giving the rook some PT EVERY game will be beneficial to him and the team for the future when Bibs is done.
