  1. The old washed up Gary Payton for Ray Allen trade, in his prime, was one of the best trades of the decade. They won a Pacific Division Title with Sund.

The Sonics / Thunder are still feeling the effects of that trade to this day. After several season of major productionin Seattle, Ray Allen was later traded to Boston for the #5 draft pick that turned into Jeff Green. Then Jeff Green is traded back to Boston for Kendrick Perkins who just signed a contract extension..........................That is not a bad return for an old washed up Gary Payton.........its like the trade that keeps on giving.

His trade for Jamal Crawford was pure genius on his part. I'm excited to see how Hinrich impacts this team and possible changes the identity of this team to a blue collard defensive oriented teams similar to the Bulls.

That one move for someone who has been around 30 years is not enough. Getting Jamal who GS had benched and told stay away from the team for a guy they could wave and expirings is hardly genius to me. If we are going to try to match negatives with positives his negatives out way his positives and it's not even close. We could go through all of his transactions if the info is out there and you wish to.

  2. Sund is one of the worse GM's ever. He helped ruin Seattle and turn them into OKC and will do the same to the Hawks, I am convinced they will be moving to Las Vegas within 5 years.

Sund horrible moves: Zaza's contract, Marvin's contract, not drafting a big in any draft when we clearly need atleast 2 more productive bigs. Trading 2 #1 picks for a serviceable player that makes your fragile payroll worse. Letting a lottery pick walk for a 2nd rd pick and an exception you will not use. Not trading Jamal because I don't think we will be able to resign him to start with, if we do he will be our only non minimum salary player that we sign and that means the team will not be any better. Conclusion, Sund is a old dog that is stuck in his ways to the detriment of any franchise

  3. Thorton is possibly better than Marvin and would come cheaper. Brewer would add length. Just another reason why I can't really spend money on supporting the Hawks. They will never go both feet in when trying to take the next step or improve because it always comes back to money. People act like paying Hinrich $9 million next year is nothing when we were not going to pay Bibby and Jordan that put together, that $1 million extra we will spend paying Hinrich by himself could have been used to help get a FA that will deepen the bench. As someone stated a few days ago. I don't like this teams immediate future or down the line future.

  4. It was okay. Teague went 2-2 in starts on the road which is good IMO. Most teams will take .500 on the road. He is the player I am most intrigued and concerned with at this point because he is our best chance for internal improvement considering we gave up 2 1st rd picks to get Hinrich.

  5. If you give me Marvin at the Mid-level Exception which I think is a about 4.5 million a year I think he is a good player, but at $7 million to 7.5 he is not, but neither is Zaza a good player for his price, Hinrich is not a good player for his price, that's just how the Hawks do business. There are probably 10 SF's coming off the bench that are better than Marvin.

  6. Kirk has not been as good on defense as some would lead you to believe. You have to watch the game for yourself to see that it is just as much or more about Teague on D as it is Kirk. He really disturbs me with some of his play for a so-called heady leader. Him being in when we gave up big leads both times is not a trend that I can just ignore because I have been holding the rest of the guys accountable for such for 2 straight years in 4th quarter meltdowns. If he is in when meltdowns occur he is part of the problem. Lastly, I agree Perkins trade will help out teams like Miami, New York, and Atlanta that don't really have that prototypical size up front. It was a bad move for the Celts IMO.

  7. Honestly, reputation proceeds you and Hinrich is known as a combo guard so I am not the bit surprised. As long as he keeps Jamal off the floor with Teague I am fine. Kirk is what he is but I don't want to see Teague turn into that also. As for why LD is doing this it is simple. He learned it from last years head coach when he was the assistant coach, nothing wrong with playing Jamal as the primary ball handler if you ask Woody or Drew. Drew should have never been hired and this is not the only or main reason.

  8. I think it will end up looking like this.

    1 Miami vs 8 Indy Heat 4-0

    2 Boston vs 7 Philly Celtics 4-1

    3 Bulls vs 6 Magic Bulls 4-2

    4 Hawks vs 5 Knicks Hawks 4-3

    1 Miami vs 4 Hawks Heat 4-2

    2 Boston vs 3 Bulls Bulls 4-2

    1 Miami vs 3 Bulls 4-3 Heat

It's fun to watch us try to find something that will work, but we need better depth which includes 2 more bigs, a knockdown shooter, and SF upgrade over Marvin.
