  1. There's a strong possibility this kid will be the sleeper of the draft. I wouldn't mind picking him up with one of our later first round picks. He doesn't everything right on the court and has the rare clutch gene. I like him Lethal!!

The whole purpose of a down year (tank year as you tankers love to say) ...is to see what your young guys are all about while going through this tough time.

we aren't playing to win at the current moment we are playing to see how high the ceiling is for these guys and if they CAN be apart of something great in the future.

no need to diss or knock stone . We didn't give him a chance.

I think it has a lot to do with skillset. I pointed out after the trade that his footwork seemed slow at times and he looked like he was going through the motions.

Thats surprising but I have a feeling he is always going to be an end of the bench kind of guy.  I wonder if we are after Green

He's not a rotational player at all in will more than likely fall to a struggling team so he will get minutes. I definitely think we're bringing someone else into the fold.

The Hawks waived Diamond Stone on Monday in a move that came just weeks after the team acquired the center in a three-way trade with the Clippers and Nuggets earlier this month.

Stone, 6-foot-11, 260 pounds, played in four games for the Hawks’ entry in the Las Vegas Summer League this month after the trade. He averaged 9.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 15.0 minutes.

Stone was drafted in the second round (No. 40 overall) out of Maryland by the Pelicans in the 2016 NBA Draft. The Clippers acquired him in a draft-night trade. He played seven games for the Clippers last season and averaged 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.4 minutes. He spent time in the G League with Santa Cruz and Salt Lake City. In 13 combined games, Stone averaged 16.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in 21.7 minutes.

Stone appeared in five games for the Clippers in the Orlando Summer League as a rookie last year and averaged 10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in 24.4 minutes.

The Hawks acquired Jamal Crawford (bought out), Stone (waived), a top-three protected 2018 first-round draft pick and $1.3 million from the Clippers in the three-way trade.

The Hawks now have Dewayne Dedmon, Mike Muscala and Miles Plumlee at center.

The legendary Diamond Stone that everyone was so hyped about has been released by the Hawks. LOL!!!!!!

    WHAT????

Charlotte got rid of Plumlee's bad deal and traded #41 for #31.... and they got a guy who is an elite rebounder (Still) and a rim protector.   THEY are Laughing because they took advantage of a young, desperate, inexperienced GM.  Let's see what Charlotte fans thought of the deal:

Yeah.. THEY ARE LAUGHING.  And you're still trying to defend this move...  Pathetic.

I see everyone gives you a hardtime on this board because you look at things differently and I can respect that about you. And I actually agree with you regarding this trade. I don't understand how some posters can be so naive. Charlottes general manager took Schlenk to the wood shed on this deal. They gave up two bums and a late first round pick, for a productive player on an expiring contract (next year) and higher first round pick. Charlotte has a win/win here. They increase their playoff chances while getting asset they can potentially flip to a desperate team looking to make a deep playoff run. I can actually see them flipping Dwight for another late first and a young prospect.

Schlenk isn't as impressive on the "business" as some on this board want to believe. And it looks like we're back to those franchise crippling two year contracts so look for us to develop another young player and pay him a handsome ransom. I won't give him any kudos on the draft because Collins fell into our laps. Dorsey and Kaba are garbage. Just look at the young talent that other teams drafted. Some of their summer league teams looked like 1st round rotations. Eversince we lost Quinn Snyder and Kenny Atkinson, our player development has been horrid. This rebuild will be worse than the Braves.

That comment a while back "just because we drafted them it doesn't mean they are good attached to Bembry" is going to look more than foolish this year. He'll end up a strong rotational player especially with what we put on the floor. The dunk five minutes ago shows the athleticism but there is a lot more going on with him. Fun to watch.

He has what some of us that played game called, "sleeper game." Fall asleep and you will get embarrassed. Lol
