Did somebody ask Darvin why the hell he called timmy to handle the ball and do nothing than waiting for the clock and jack up a three? Is there any reason to do this? Tim is the better shooter but by far the worse ball handler? So why not giving Dennis the ball to get a good shot for two, a foul or at least an open three out of a drive by Dennis?

Timmy was 9 of 16 and a major factor in our comeback. Dennis was 7 of 16 with not much success driving the ball. It was a good decision. Always go with the hot hand.

  2. Did you all hear Niques comment regarding Dennis' suspension. Well if you missed it, he said ever since his suspension he hasn't played well. And this was my main reason why I was against Buds decision. The point guard sets the tone for the team and gets all players involved. The game's about chemistry and rhythm, in which, we've lacked in opening quarters besides todays game. But Dennis hasn't come out aggressively and attacked his matchup since the allstar break. Our current rut is solely on Bud and his decision.

In other news, why does Baze make the same mistakes game over game? I'm glad Darvin sat him down during the 4th quarter stretch. His turnovers and decision making lost us a lot of opportunities.

My thoughts exactly @jaybirdhawks ! I've been watching Jimmer for a while now, and I like how his gameplay translates to our system. He can really hit the outside shot and allow Bud to play him alongside Dennis in some rotation combinations. Just imagine the amount of space he would create after the pick and roll. Our bigs would feast! Make it happen now Bud!

We lack enough information to say this was an honest mistake and not something they specifically told him not to do or w/e.  How do we know they advised him, due to the political environs, not to travel right now and he said "f y'all I'mma do what I want."?

I think our leader in coach missed a good opportunity to voice his concerns in regards to the travel issues caused by our administration. He should've given him an "I told you so" discussion in private and left it at that honestly. We're in the second half of the season with 26 important games remaining. We don't need a coach made distraction. This crap should've never made it to the media. Always protect your stars and have a since of understanding with a young kid making a mistake. Piss-poor Management 101.

I missed that.  What did he say?

What'd he say? I've blocked out all SB coverage, makes me sick.

The media questioned him on whether if it was a mistake passing the ball in field goal range with the lead. He kept saying we can't take the sack and hold on offense. The media asked him the same question again, and the a***** said he didn't want Matt Bryant to kick a 50 yard field goal. Lol! The ball was on the 22 yard line which equates to a 39 yard field goal. Matt Bryant is 28-31 for field goals between 40-49 yards for his entire career. Its on ESPN's website. The guy is such a douche!

  6. Passing the ball on New England's 22 yard line was the absolute worst decision I've ever seen in professional sports. If we run the ball all three downs the worst would be a 39 yard chip shot from Matt Bryant. The game would be sealed. I'm glad Shanahan is gone. And he lost major respect for trying to throw Ryan under the bus.

Haha! @willthepuregm. I guess I know a little bit about the game of b-ball, but lets not get too carried away.

But in regards to Lamar, he's playing really loose in the D-League and its working. He's playing a lot with the ball in his hands. I think we let him go too soon, and there's a lot more to his game than we've seen. I hope we bring him back for the remainder of the season.

Neal is definitely not a PG.

Agreed that he looks out if shape. Thankfully, it's only a 10 day. I've seen enough.

Did Jarrett Jack have his work out yet?

I'm not sure but I would kick Jarrett Jacks tires before digging Neal out of the back of the junkyard.

  9. Watching Gary Neal hoist up bricks last night made seriously question Buds end game. Neal looks out of shape and has no lift on his jumpshot. He's freaking old Bud! I rather us bring back Lamar instead. He's doing well in the D-League this year. Only Bud smh.

Lol, this is why I can't take you seriously, 9 out of 10 times. No one in the NBA can set moving screens more than twice before the refs pick up on it. Man, he sets terrible screens.  He doesn't have the BBIQ to spring open, he doesn't understand angles and he doesn't like moving around when he's not directly involved. Moving screens isn't his issue, it's setting screens period.

Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson get away with moving screens all of the time.

Lmao. What are some of you talking about. Read the whole interview. He didnt throw shade at anyone. He said he has never played with anyone like PG and that Joe Johnson was probably the closest. He was also talking about he is playing with with more guys who can get their own shot. He gave nothing but props to guys like Sap and Baze.  He was clearly saying he doesnt have to create as many shots for guys like he did here.

Fans talk about our lack of shot creators but let a guy who was here say it and its F him. He didnt say 1 bad word about any player, coach , or fan since he left.

I was literally shaking my head as I read through the posters looking to make something out of nothing. Before becoming a fan of the game, you have to learn the game. We lost last night because our system is based off of moving parts working together, but when some parts malfunction, we look like garbage. If we had a starting five of players that can adlib and create their own offense, we wouldn't get blown out when the system doesn't work. During the game last night, I noticed the runs came when Bud inserted Hardaway and Prince into the lineup. Those guys will be the heartbeat for our 2nd unit and its time Bud realizes it. I predict Bembry to start putting it all together during the second half of the season.

AND CAN DELANEY GET SOME CONFIDENCE!! DUDE PLAYS LIKE HE'S AFRAID TO SCREW UP. JUST OVER-THINKING THE GAME!!

In other news, I can't wait to Scott gets back. I've never seen a professional player like Humphreys without any post moves to contribute to the team. Just imagine our interior defense when Tiago returns. Howard at the 4 spot would be disgusting on both ends.

  12. Good thoughts. But I think people are getting my post misconstrued. I'm simply offering my insight on how motivation can either make or break a "young" player like Schröder. Its a fair observation when you think about professional sports and contracts. There's a reason why organizations use the play first and get paid last motto for players.

We've seen our share of players like Erik Dampier and Larry Hughes whose motivations were strictly to make their families comfortable. After the big payday, winning and getting better no longer matters (For those with the financial motivation).

Now the competitive player. The Kobe Bryants, Kevin Garnetts, and Pauls Pierces are solely motivated to bust *** and dominate while playing the game. The way these players are wired, the big contracts automatically happen on the back end. Money isn't the big factor.

The question that I presented is... How do you think Schroeders wired? Was his motivations solely about the money and the starting point guard title. Or, is he a raw competitor and gamer?

Please keep your emotions out of this when posting.. lol

  13. If you all can remember a couple weeks ago when Schröder received his early extension, a few of us had our worries. Majority of the worry was due to the feeling that Schröder wasn't earning his starting spot and $60 million extension from the Hawks brass. A young kid with the keys to a Ferrari and the bank account to wreck it without worry. It seems we may be right. Watching Dennis play Sunday gave me the feeling that this kid no longer has anything to play for. He finally became the man on a winning franchise; he received a very lucrative contract after working as a backup; and he was able to bring his family over to the States. There's literally nothing else for him to play for if he was wired with those three goals in mind. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was a kid once and if I had those three things going for me before the age of 25, it would be hard for me to rewire into a stone-cold competitor. Its just a simple fact of maturity and becoming an adult. This will take time. But, do we have enough time for him to rewire himself? Thoughts?

Millsap's defense against Morris has been horrible. He was lit up. Seen it in the playoffs the past 2 years against Pierce, Love, Jerebko.

Maybe Bud need to try Thabo at PF to guard the stretch bigs. Millsap looks a step slow trying to keep up with them.

No, that was the defensive strategy tonight. You play the lanes to stop the penetration from Wall and Beal. You make the other players beat you. Morris scored points, but we neutralized Beal and Wall. Winning strategy my man.
