Since when has Horford been weak defensively? The big dropoff comes from defense, we are an undersized team at very weak defensively at SG, SF and C positions. I think that if we don't get Howard is a lost season but it doesn't matter, we should use the season to develop Teague, Jenkins and Horford as the new go-to guy, and sign some young players at the post to develop them for next season as Jordan Hill or A. Randolph. Next season 2 draft picks and tons of cap space, if you have a good core, FAs would think on signing here.

Plus, he sucks.

What people are saying is that Lebron's techniques for playing wouldn't be nearly as effective in the time when Jordan played. Lot's of publicists say that if Jordan played today, he'd score 50 per game. The fact that you aren't allowed to be nearly as physical anymore is the reason Lebron is as good as he is.
-
Joker, you're really comparing Shaq's low post technique to Hakeem? wtf...

Apparently Duncan isn't a superstar.I like what Drew said but he basically is saying what we all know. No one on this team can carry this team on a nightly basis. I've never seen a team without a superstar show up night after night outside of SAS. I remember those Detroit teams not showing up.

The conversation is about the elite talent needed by the hawks. How does Bradley or Stiemsma come into the picture? So one of my dream scenerios after listening to Josh fantasize about the Celtics fans...wasSmith for some combo of Steisma and Bradley + Filler.I love Bradley's defense.I love Steisma's defense. These two guys inserted right into the starting 5 with a new coach who is a discipline driven defense guy... would make us successful.

Saw this question in another thread. There is no option for a player to restructure their contract for less money.

Joe for Noah and Deng? This isn't NBA 2k.Me and my Uncle was talking about this earlier. He said he would sign Josh and trade Joe. Which I agreed. Either Smith or Joe has to go. People say Joe has more value cause GMs don't like Smith FINE trade Joe then. I will trade Joe ONLY if we can get a legit quality center. Hopefully Chicago wants Joe. I would offer Joe for Noah and Deng. Getting Noah and Deng would add some toughness to go along with this team. draft a backup SG. Don't know what I would do would Marvin. Marvin is a solid player coming off the bench. He just not a starter in my opinion.Teague/Vet PGDeng/drafted SGSmith/Marvin/StackhouseHorford/JohnsonNoah/ZazaIs it a pretty squad? nope but it will get the job done.As far as the coach I don't know. No...I do no want Dantoni.

Agreed. Same with Hold the Mayo. We don't need a 6th man volume shooter who chokes in the playoffs, or we could have just kept crawford. We need a true pg who makes his teammates better.Andre Miller would be a clear upgrade over Jeff but he's more of a band-aid move. We aren't contending by bring in Andre Miller.

Nice edit.Read my post again.

So, you're telling me his 1-11 and 2 assists in 24 minutes is because he didn't get enough touches? Give me a freakin break. You can't even just admit he had a horrible game. No, I didn't see that and I was watching the game. It was hell for both teams to get their shot off regardless of the player.
-
Because he's blowing the play every time he touches the ball.Dolfan, I agree with you to a degree. I don't think Mayo will cost as much but he could be too expensive for Atlanta as it is.They really aren't playing though him or anyone outside of Z-Bo or Gasol.
-
I really hope all those who love mayo are watching this game 7.

The fact is, you can look a those shots and see where Josh is camping. The problem is, without him moving, KG can sag WAAAAAAY off of him. Did you see all those WIDE OPEN jumpers he had yesterday?

People are hilarious. These guys wouldn't have even made it into the NBA if they didn't have 5 times the fighting spirit of any of us chumps.

No KG or Pierce tonight vs

When our bench is combing for 22% FG% and 0% 3P% there is not too much anyone can do. Our bench played like absolute garbage tonight.

Even Sekou is talking about it! http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/04/09/a-top-15-spot-for-josh-smith/?ls=iref:nbahpt1

I wish we would have S&T.

I love how people throw in this caveat even if 2 of his good performances were against good teams; Celtics and Jazz.Joe finally back to playing like the Old Joe, even if it is against sub-par teams. Let the good times roll.
-
If Josh could shoot the three at a decent percentage consistently... Joe has been killing it at the 3.Simple answer. This team would be a lot better off with Josh at the 3, Horf at the 4 consistently. Both players would be solid all stars at those 2 positions, fill the team from there.

I wish it showed how many possessions were averaged across those games, would make the rebound stats a tad more meaningful.Interesting as I wouldn't have suspected this, but Diesel is actually wrong about the rebounding. For some reason Hawks.com only lists team splits for the last 15 games for us but here you go... http://www.nba.com/h...eam_splits.html
We've actually averaged 2 fewer rebounds per game in our wins over the past 15 games.
