It is difficult to assess without understanding what Ferri is trying to accomplish in the short term. Doesn't look like tanking or contending. Only the 'next Rockets' plan seems to fit but there are still plenty of moving parts on the roster. I think we need to wait and see.
Yep, there is still a lot left to be done before we even have a small sense of what Ferry is trying to do.

Wasting time tanking. The Lottery is fixed and Wiggins will end up in Boston
Yea
If the Celtics do decide to tank and get Wiggins, they would have a potentially good young nucleus with Wiggins, Sullinger, and Melo to go around Rondo(if he is not traded).

I actually think that the Celtics could be better than expected next season. They may not make the playoffs as a late seed but they still could be at least more of a middle of the pack team than a straight out terrible one, especially if players like Sullinger and Fab Melo come in and plays well. They still have Bradley who is a very good defender for a guard to go along with Rondo.

Nope

We can laugh at the picture but I have a feeling they will be better than us sadly.
I'd rather stare at the pics in your sig.
Especially the 2nd one............................Wow!!!!

I find it hard for Smith to say that no one on the Hawks has won anything when he himself has not won a damn thing meaningful either.

Cousins is a legitimate headcase. Not a winner.
I read an article somehwere(I think on yahoo) that Shaq said that he was going to try and mentor Cousins.
If Shaq can get Cousins to become a professional while help developing his skills then Cousins will be a huge player to look out for in the near future.

Is this a joke or real? And if real why the hell would the hawks be holding on to someone's draft rights this long?!
It is just like for instance, if Barry Sanders decided to come out of retirement he would still be contractually obligated to the Lions even though he has been retired from the NFL for 15 years.
His contract would be valid if he ever somehow return to the NFL unless the Lions void it.

Bynum will sign with atlanta hawks. My sources from NBA 2k told me.
Sorry, he was already locked up by the Hawks last week.
I turned the salary cap option off so we were able to win the bidding war over Mark Cuban for him. The Hawks are now in talks with the Blazers to get Lillard for a player that I signed from the D-League in a forced trade.
WIN!!!

Imagine Bynum posting up Bosh/Birdman....
If Bynum is healthy, then it could be even worse for Bosh than when he got embarrassed by Duncan throughout the Finals.

What does this mean? Im guessing the offers he is getting are lower that what he left on the table in Mil.
Possibly
-
agree but Bynum's decision is imminent and could be made by then?
Doubt it but if that is somehow to be the case, it would be one of the best kept secrets I have ever seen in the history of sports.
Stuff like that is rarely secret from the media up till the time of the official announcement by the actual team.

Horford has already been doing that.
I think he wants to be more of a PF than a C.

I would not mind it if he comes in on a deal that favors the Hawks if he does not play much.
Also if he promises not to show up looking like this:

This year is a great year to tank because there isn't just one or two potential franchise building blocks. This draft stands out for its depth at the top. Why do you think Celtics, etc. are dismantling to build through the lottery? This isn't a Wiggins or bust year, although he is the big draw coming into the year. Lebron was the big draw but Melo, Wade, Bosh, etc. offered depth at the top.
Yeah, you made a very good point.
Next years draft will have variety of potential top level talent. I just think that tanking with the expectation of getting Wiggins is a very slim chance.

The Spurs tanked when Tim Duncan was the prize coming out. They had D Robinson back then and sat him out games so they would have a higher chance of winning the no1 pick. Take a look at the 2 organizations on drafting players. Player evaluation is critical to winning which is why the Bobcats struggle and the Spurs do well no matter where they pick in the draft. A comparison would also be found with the Atlanta Falcons. Before Dimitroff most of the GMs sucked at drafting. TD has turned it around all because of proper player evaluation, coaching and development.
The Spurs had to have a little luck on their side in order to win the 1st overall pick to get Duncan.
It worked out for the Spurs in 1997 but there is a chance that it won't happen for the Hawks if they were to tank next season. That is why I think that tanking is not the best option.

My only gripe is, if he intended on signing with Houston all this time, why did he feel the need to prolong the inevitable?
Very similar to what Lebron did. It was obvious that he was going to Miami but he just wanted to lead people on in dramatic fashion.

A part of me says Dwightmare is not over yet. In 1-2 years we will hear Howard wanting a trade out of Houston. Lol.
Yep, lol
-
Howard will not win anything with the Rockets unless he grows up mentally. So far that seems almost impossible.
-
GS needs add either Barnes or Thompson in the deal before thinking that any team would consider anything close to that type of trade.
They need to pay up if they want Dwight badly.
-
They will have to come up with something much more appealing than that.
-
Personally, oden scares me more.
Yeah, he scares me more as well.
I was just saying that if he has gotten past the constantly being injured problem then he could possibly be a huge steal.
For the right price, I would not be upset if the Hawk just try to kick the tires on him with a 1 year deal. Especially if they don't get Howard and are investing in next off-season.

Well, I hope that he at least has a history of having healthy knees at the height of 7'3.
