  1. If Germany only had one reliable 3 point shooter to space the floor for Dennis this team could have had much more success. For Dennis' game it's really important to have some guys who really deserve the kick out pass and also draw some defensive attention. Other highlights in this topic show that there will be at least one guy who can hit the three... I think Kyle Kovers impact on that 60 win team is still underarted

  2. 96th is a little low I think, but at least he is ranked one spot better than Dirk... Don't expect any Hawks player to be ranked higher, I just hope Dennis can improve, Baze performs like he is payed, Belli spaces the floor for Dennis, Prince continues Luke hin finished, Collins puts everbody on a poster, Bud coaches like the CotY he was and Hawks will win much more than expected. Maybe this year an over bet should be placed...

You could make the same point about HOF centers (like Ewing) or wings (TMac) or forwards (the Chuck wagon), etc.  Not many players can make it on their own.

Not even LeBron made it on his own. He was the best player on the planet and even he needed Wade & Bosh and Kyrie & Love to win titles...

EDIT: That 2011 title for the mavs vs the Big3 was so sweet!!!

  4. YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Germany vs. France 84:81

Dennis was defended very well in the 1st half vs a opponent stacked with NBA experienced players. Germany was down 10-19 after the 1st qtr. At the end of the half Dennis was finally able to score  2 from the line and then 4 from the field. He shot only 2/9 in the 1st half but was able to create for his teammates.

In the 2nd half he was able to score, shot 3/6 and was able to go to the line where he added 9 more points. His complete stat line was
    21pts, 5/15 FGs, 0/4 3PTs, 11/11 FTs, 4 rebs, 8 assists and only 2 turnovers

Today another player stepped up in Daniel Theis (signed with BOS)
    22pts, 8/9 FGs, 2/2 §PTs, 4/5 FTs, 7 rebs, 1 turn

Germany probably will play another stacked opponent next round - Spain.

  5. Now that I see Hartenstein play I'd say it was stupid not to draft him. He would have been exactly the player you can afford to develop as a 2nd round pick while rebuilding, No regular rotation player yet, but already more than Tavares or Nogueira ever will be...

  6. Today Dennis lead Germany to a 67-57 win vs Zaza's Georgia, despite throwing the ball away 9 times...

23 points on 8/19 FGs (2/3 from downtown) - Dennis got no respect by the refs so there were a lot of uncalled fouls, what explains some of the TOs and severel missed shots. So shooting wasn't as good as last game, but he had to shoulder scoring since the 2nd best scorer had 11 points on an even worse percentage.

    BOXSCORE

  7. Dennis averaged 6 assists in the 2015 Eurobasket - and was 4th in APG (21PPG - 2nd), so I'm confident he will put up better numbers after some more games and practices. The Eurobasket 2017 starts August 31, there are 3 more preperation games (Poland, Serbia, France) before

If he was a shooting guard, I'd be happy with that stat line albeit it is Euro ball.  But 3 assists and 4 turnovers is a horrible ratio for a point guard.

Close to no practices with this guys so far, FIBA isn't that generous with assists and less space due to slightly smaller court

  9. Dennis joned the German national team this week, today they played their first friendly vs Russia - a team Germany lost 60:89 against 6 days ago, just before Dennis Schröder (and Daniel Theis who signed with BOS this summer) joined the team

    Germany won today's game 79-76
    Dennis' stat line 28pts, 3ass, 3reb, 10/15 FGs, 2/3 3FGs, 6/6 FTs, 4TO

Edit: BTW he made 16 of his 28 points in the 4th, which they entered 56-60

Pefectly played by both Lonzo and John.

Had Schröder said that if the Ingram over Collins dunk was shown first, we would be giving Schröder props for sticking up for his teammate.

The one thing about Ball on social media, is that he doesn't take himself too seriously.  And I'm glad that Collins has the proper sense of humor as well.

Except that Dennis already is a proven NBA player, starter and now the face of our franchise while Lonzo didn't even play a minute of NBA basketball yet and a lot of his fame is based on loudmouth LaVar
