  1. i got him aswell, i`ll just say i got capstone21^^
  2. wish i would have been posterized:D @kg01 Dont worry i am on my meds, but they really drive me crazy looking forward to a day when i can put them aside again:D @rd79 i wonder if that at least leaves a bitter taste in dennises mouth, since he wanted to play and the hawks forbid it. I dont really think so since next season will be a key seeason in his carrer. Anyways looks like Dennis is spending a nice summer and enjoys germany a bit aswell. Hope he can relax some and doesnt have to hassle from 1 interview to another sponsoring appointment. Dirk was always smart in not taking many endoresements.

hard for me to say how much he can still contribute on the court, but i could see him as a great mental coach. The positivity he has in all the 2011 prechampionship interviews is inspiring. I dont know about his college career, but he should maybe seek a degree in psychologie and work as a mental coach for pro teams if he can interest himself for something like that.
  4. Herzlich willkommen, well Dude you did one mistake for sure, you forgot that we have kg01. The true basketball jesus! But on a more serious note, all upsides you called also have downsides to them. Its just not safe to say anything at all atm. And yes Horford was more on the softside, his shooting will be missed. Its just not safe to say anything yet. I would actually say that the hawks are in good shape but budenholzer will resign midseason.
  5. jbh this is problably the best post i have ever read on hsquawk. @Spursfanpeacemaker dude paul george is now stuck with jeff teague, he isnt all that great after all. he has a solid pg now but nothiing special.
  6. well if you ever wanna win, you either need a MAJOR fa or a rebuild so i like it either way. I think its quite easy to rebuild with the team if you can get 3 lottery picks in the next 3 years. But i am way to biased for this stuff. But the talent from europe is going to be huge especially germany. I truly believe lots of teeams still look for the the top picks, but the picks you have to park oversees for 2-3 years are way better in the future. But thats just my retarded opinion:D
  7. thx jbh. as i said they are badly informated about the nba in general. but do we believe the hawks can draw a major fa? i doubt it, but really wanna be surprised:D German media even has dirk joining the warriors. So they really get the good drugs...
  8. well they say in german media ( badly informed usually if its about the nba but maybe they payed some money bc its about schröder, but i doubt it) that its all for resigning horford for a max. even the 12th pick from the pacers gets traded so they will resign. I think that would be very risky but i dont even understand all the rules you guys got.
  9. what does based mean under these circumstances?
  10. no offense, but what does it give the hawks? trading away a at least decent pg for someone who is considered weak in a 2 players draft? I would assemble lots of picks and go for all euros over the next years. i think they will take over (gonna get burned on that for sure). Now the nowitzki years start kicking in when young kids saw they can do that bc of dirk. nba will see a huge influx in players soonish. trade dennis for simmons is legit but not doable:D
  11. is that a wish of you or a possibility?
  12. firing ferry was bc of political correctness. and that has never been a good advice giver.

i really dont think this draft is about having high picks. its the internationals i believe. And you can always get them late. so excited about zipser. he is taylor made for american basketball.

well i think its way more entertaining if i am on em:D nah, i am trying but i need it way to often. my body is just messed up:D

terrible nickname but i hope your right. i just think dennis will never be a top pg but he will be one that you have to prepair against. I have a bet running that dennis is not germanys star in 6 years.

dude actually i am under control for the first time in months:D

well i cant recall all these situations but it kinda sounds like a guy that keeps your team competitive for 3 qts and 9 minutes and messed up in the last 3. Those guys always get the blame but without them it wouldnt even have been close at all. Just like in soccer if you miss a big chance you created on your own. You get hated for it, but noone else would have created the chance in the first place.

Only with an extension....we can have two max players....still dont think we should Max Horford dude that munchies for the chocolate is always online, but i try to selfcontrol:D

alright first of all, this time i didnt mix my meds and alcohol. Since the hawks traded teague it looks to me a rebuild should be considered. get draft picks and feed on that. Even an early 2nd round pick on some euros will be worth something. (i am biased but take a look at paul zipser) Paul george and a 12th pick for teague is not that great if you immediatly trade the pick away only to create cap for horford. I think its time to blow this good team up in order to create something that will be better in a few seasons. But to me it doesnt look like a rebuild bc if they would want it, they had done a trade with phily. it will be really interesting where this is heading.
  20. nbasupes i understood this post as if you wanted to say atlanta was an especially good city for blacks (aa). In my head i do the math and check who you might be comparing it to. Since you are talking from an american perspective, you will problably have used the majority as a comparison. As far as i understand these are white folks in atlanta or at least the usa. Its very hard as a german to talk about stuff like this bc of the role we have to play in todays politics out of political reasons. But I fail to understand, that if atlanta was such a great city for black dudes, why noone would ever go there. I think its all made up in the mind of people. And it would be so much easier if this was true, but i doubt there is an easy solution to the problem the hawks have. But imo you need to speak to the whole community and not just to one race/nationality. The hawks have to really either become a brand ( doing this will most likely need lots of success or fame) or to get hardcore fans that will carry the stadium alone. I think the hawks are one of the franchises that will constantly be open for selling and being relocated. It would be terrible and i really hope i am wrong. (please: i didnt try to sound offensive bc i usually dont quote against statements of other people. so i might sound harsh at times but its not intentionally, its problably bc my english sucks.) cheers flo
  21. but anyways this is a very good threat, i would vote it 2nd best after my gravings for kg01:D Hopefully someone will be in the chat tonight for game 7 between warriors and thunder. If i see someone i will join.
  22. your problably right, i just heard ( not even read about the ferry thing) and i should know better not to post stuff like this if i dont really know the issue too well. If there was a short version in easy english i would really appreciate a link. But the fault prolly is all on my side, sorry for that.
  23. thanks for explaining this to me nbasupes. Its really hard for euros to understand differences. When i came to south carlina i was a national rugby player and i went to high school in the usa bc i knew i wont blow a carrer bc we germans suck in rugby anyways. I was the only white folk on the hs basketball team and i only got picked bc my teammates thought it was funny to have a white guy that talks funny on the team. But i had even as a player that almost never played more heart than all the americans. (i take great pride in this) I was not allowed to ride with a bycicle to practise, so i got dropped off at 6a.m. in the morning, slept in front of the gym and got picked up at around 4 p.m. This basketball team really was my life (for that one year) and i still got cussed out for being terrible. (which i was) Although i personaly hated the south as i saw it, i loved the people. But i dont really understand how a city can be better for blacks than for whites. I mean yeah, blacks need more barber shops and white folks need more boring places (dunno just tried to be funny:D) But its totally wrong to create interest with these hip hop folks. I think it was home opener last season and that tier 3 rapper used words like motherf...... I was so blown away how that can happen in a professional enviroment. In europe those words are okay, but only bc we dont understand them. In america especially the south (as faar as i learned) that is not only a no go, that is the worst sin you pretty much can do. (my host family were baptist) That tinder stuff was hilarious and smart, but these rappers using bad words really cant be in a basketball arena. I mean people like to take their kids to the games and your kids will understand strong language... I feel that its sad, but basketball appears to be a tier 3 sport in the south. I feel (without knowing anything) dennis and all the internationals will feel that, too and will always leave the teams. Dirk renounced on sooo much money, almost no american will ever do that, but why did he do so? not because dallas is great, but he felt appreciated in dallas. American players will hardly ever get as attached to a new home as euros will. The easist way to build a team is with euros cuz if they get accustomed to a place, they are way more reluctant to leave. (this is not meant as bashing for american players, its more showing how much euros appreciate a home from home)
  24. I really doubt its altanta fans. I think its mostly americans. Have the usa ever won anything that they havent created? all the sports that matter that they are good in are selfcreated. Basketball american sport rest, of the world is starting to get out of its child boots. football: there are no national teams bc the sport is nonsense. If you let your child play it your desperate for money or a retard. no other reason. If you want though sport its rugby. But the usa are not elite in that yet. Baseball? Noone in europe cares and ever will. Play cricket: its problably just as bad but you got competition. (we germans dont care for cricket) I think americans only want winners. We appreciate losers aswell. But americans are not shy of setting double standard if it comes to foreigners, all of a sudden winning doesnt count as much. Its really weird. For example the discussion of the best pf of all time: tim duncan is nr1. whoever nr.2 is i dont care but karl malone can never ever be ahead of dirk. dirk f***ing won his title he never grouped up like a w****e. Dirk did it with grace and honour. But all of a sudden rings dont count. Those are the things were americans lose us europeans, that try to discuss on a normal lvl with you. And this is not meant against any of you guys, its just in general. My soccer team got relegated this year to the 2nd division and the atmosphere is still better than in cleveland....
  25. please tell me if i am wrong, but i dont think sap or dmc were highly recruted (sap more, dmc less). It all speaks for atlanta being a terrible place for a nba franchise. I have to admit i didnt like my time in the south either, but ffs it cant be that bad can it? I feel for all the die hard fans especially on this board, but somehow the feeling hardens for me that basketball shouldnt be played here. I mean I love nba basketball, but even in some euro leagues that i dont even know the atmosphere is better, and basketball is problably a tier 3 sport there. If given an close to equal talent lvl in players any euro team would whipe out nba teams just bc of the atmosphere. My high school coach played a couple of years in france and other places in europe and told me he never got over the fans for being so terrible and loud. I have another thing i am actually trying to proof right now about american fans, and people all together but i need to proove it a little more before i present it to you and let you shred me to pieces:D I have to say the folks i met here are awesome fans and i really enjoy my contact with them, but i know 90% of them would cry if they ever entered a german soccer stadium once. Its just no comparison.
