Nice thread idea. Jodie meeks and marshon brooks intrigue me the most. Marshon needs more confidence and better coaching, but i think he could take lou will's role and flourish.

Now this is just me thinking out loud with my hawks brethren. We know that Bud had a big hand in trading george hill for kawhi leonard. We also know that he is somewhat the mastermind behind the offense run in San Antonio. Teague essentially is our tony parker and horf is the tim duncan. So lets look at the wings. He likes a dead eye shooter at the 2 like danny green. Korver played admirably in that role but he is limited outside of that. At the 3 spot he went and grabbed kawhi leonard with the pick he got for george hill. He wanted a defensive player he could groom with offensive upside. The market was dry last summer so he took DMC at a bargain. DMC is like a raw kawhi with limited upside. Both had a similar skillset. The point of all this is, perhaps the kawhi leonard selection can shed some light into what type of player we are targeting in the draft. I hear names like dario and kyle anderson but those guys would not fit and would be liabilites defensively. This is speculation, but im curious as to what you guys think.

dmc is no marvin my friend. He replaced him but he is our tony allen with better shooting. I think your judging him based on his scoring output but that isnt his job. Im not saying we cant upgrade at the 3 spot. Im simply stating the fact that our coaching staff is great at development and DMC has benefited just as much as anybody on the roster.

he has come a long way from a skill stand point. His dribbling and his shot are leaps and bounds better to the point where he isnt a liability on offense. Sure his numbers are similar but that comes from usage and he is 5th in the pecking order of our starting line up. You can't tell me he hasn't improved

klay is a way better defender than he gets credit for. I agree his price is too high, but to say he plays no d is ridiculous. We could probably get harrison barnes for cheaper tho, and I think he has more room to grow and needs a change of scenery.

he is slow footed. He puts the ball on the deck but his handles are nothing special. He would get ripped by defenders in the nba because at 6'10 he dribbles high as opposed to a low dribble like a natural handler. Its not so much I hate him as a prospect, but rather the talent we would have to pass up in order to obtain him. I like having a DMC type at the 3 and a dynamic scorer at the 2. Stauskas and lavine can be developed into something special with the way our training staff develops players. Just look at how far DMC has come.

Nik stauskas is a beast in the pick n roll, I think he would thrive in this system. Zach lavine for the sheer upside of him and teague in the backcourt. rodney hood's short arms alarm me. I dont think he will be anymore better than cj miles. I am scared we will take dario saric. He is slow as all hell. Just the idea of him trying to guard melo and lebron is hilarious.
