  1. I know you think I'm a troll, but you're dead wrong. I'm a person who's watched this team for the past 25 years hoping that somehow a winner would show up. I really thought this was it...but look at this team's record since February...a measly ONE game over .500. This embarrassment didn't start recentoy, it's been going on for 3 months. Once again, the fans of Atlanta have been disappointed by a bunch of pretenders...and to go out this way, like a bunch of schoolyard kids, is ridiculous. Anybody from the Hawks, coach or player, who gets on the stage and talks about how prous they are of themselves, should be laughed off the state. They should just keep their mouths shut and go home. Mark my words...this team won't be back in this position for at least 4 or 5 years. You all go ahead and celebrate, pretend there is a real basketball team in Atlanta...but some of us know the truth--these are the same old stinkimg Hawks they've always been. I'm done...now you can call me names and talk about great next year's gonna be. These guys are an embarrassment to themselves, their fans, and their city. Period.
  2. The name doesn't make any difference...it was the weakest division in the NBA. And I live in Ga and have tried to be a Hawks fan...but this mess is hard to root for.
  3. Surely this Hawks team deserves one. After all, we won the Atlantic division, beat a team with a losing record in round 1, and then a team without their best player in round 2. Now this brilliant performance tonight...SURELY there will be a parade!
  4. There IS going to be one for the Hawks, isn't there? After all, they won the Atlantic Division, best a team with a losing record, and then a team without its star player. Now tonight's performance...we need a parade!
  5. Absolutely agree...this team wonders why nobody respects them?
  6. Yep...this team had quit on top of everything else. Look like they should be wearing dresses.
  7. To lose so badly that we won't be subjected to the "good year" crap. Just get on plane quietly, go home, and start working on next year
  8. Still got that funny feeling? This is funny to watch , all right. Like a jr high team playing Kentucky.
  9. Like watching a replay...no ball movement, no defense, missed shots...they're folding like a cheap suit. Caves will be up by 18-20 at half and then party is on. See why these 3-0 games are a joke?
  10. That's not a funny feeling but a sad one...this one will get ugly and Cavs will spend 2nd half celebratimg
  11. Banned for what? For expressing an opinion that's not all sugar and spice about losing? Thought that's what these boards are for.
  12. Just heard them say he may play depending on how he warms up. Dumb move if he does. They don't need him now but they will next week.
  13. The clock will say 0:00 at about 11 tonight...so they're in it for 31/2 more hours. Meant to say "Paul" (Millsap) instead of "Larry".
  14. Score Prediction...Cavs106. Hawks 78. Will be over by halftime.
  15. Well, I guess that answers my question, doesn't it? Hawks will bring back the same group and play the same way...oh well.
  16. I like your spirit, and I appreciate the work Al, Jeff, & Larry have done...but tonight will be their final game for this year.
  17. Yes, there's one more game tonight, but you and I both know it's a meaningless one...just like the one was in Houston last night. Sort of like letting a hurting patient stay in misery instead of mercifully giving him a knockout shot. 0 for 116 isn't good odds.
  18. Hate to say it, but I agree Alex. Everybody's talking about the Hawks folding...I don't think it's as much as the fact that in the last 3 months people have figured out what they do and are having no trouble either defending them or scoring against them. I'm really afraid they're going to keep the core of this team together for a few more years, like they did with Johnson, Smith, and Pachulia, and by the time somebody wakes up, we'll be back to cellar dwellars.
  19. For a number of reasons, I like the Warriors in 6. I just think they have the more complete team, including one of the best shooters I've ever seen. Thoughts?
  20. We've already seen this playoff season how susceptible teams are to injury...one reason is the extended amount of time the playoffs add to already beaten-up bodies. So here's my suggestion...why not make it the best of seven UNLESS one team goes up 3-0? In other words, if a team wins the first two games, a win in game 3 would end it. In view of the fact that no team has EVER (in 116 tries) come back from 3-0, that might shorten this two-month playoff period by a couple of weeks and keep us from watching meaningless games, like the one being played in Cleveland tonight.
  21. Believe me, I genuinely and fervently hope you all are right...but the Hawks have been here before...most notably the year the Celts beat us in game 7...supposedly a team set to contend for several years to come...and then down the perverbial hole. This playoff performance hasn't done much to promote confidence. I do think you're dreaming if we can bring this same group back, play the same style, and expect to contend. We need at least a true big man who can score, a wing defender, and an improved bench.
  22. Even if there's no "verdict" against him, that kind of stupidity when your team has a chance to do something special is inexcusable. For that matter, they can show Antić, the other genius in that episode, the door as well. I don't see one thing he brings to the team except poor defense and missed 3's.
  23. His criminal activity didn't just hurt himself, it hurt his team, because we've been getting killed defensively. He needs to go immediately...maybe to NY where he can hang out in all the big, bad clubs.
  24. As we watch the Hawks' season come to a disappointing end tonight, we'll hear the usual cliches that losing teams always make: "It's been a good year", "Nobody expected us to make it this far", "wait 'til next year"...and so on. Yes, the Hawks had an excellent first half of the regular season, including a 19-game winning streak that left us all amazed and wondering, "Could it be? Could we really, for the first time in 45 years, have an NBA franchise capable of winning it all?" I must admit, I got hooked for awhile myself...a 40-8 record will do that to you. But then February came, and from that time to now this team has played basically .500 basketball. They hung on to get the #1 seed in the East, but their play remained inconsistent and the lack of a "go to" player continued to stand out. They could've easily lost to both the Nets and the Wizards, and now they're about to be swept away by the Cavs. That begs the question: has this franchise really turned the corner, or was this just a "flash in the pan" season that won't be seen again for several years? I think we all know the answer...this isn't the Spurs or a team like them that has the organization, commitment, and talent to compete for a championship every year. No, this is a collection of good, not great, players who found something for awhile. The playoffs have shown its weaknesses and limitations, and that's not likely to change. We should get ready for 40-45 wins the next couple of years, followed by another "rebuild" scenario and the process will start again. I really wish this wasn't the case, but past history says otherwise. So as we watch Lebron and company celebrate tonight, let's don't get carried away with the "we'll get them next year" chants...this is Atlanta, after all, and that "losing fog" just never seems to lift.
