Im STILL waiting on one of them to give a interview and say they want to bring a championship to Atlanta. Its a GAME. They aint fooling me. This is WHY Koonin is the VOICE of the franchise. Its a sale job. Koonin keeping everybody happy while the team improves its value, then they sell the team. The Hawks have EXCELLENT season ticket prices, so, they are gonna sell those tickets, regardless of the product they put on the floor. If the Hawks DO win a championship, it would be because Bud was THAT good, not because of money poured into the team by the ownership.

Another good post. My thinking is EXACTLY in line with what you are saying. Give him a half a year and see what happens. The problem appears the Hawks want more for Teague and Horford. Throw Sam Dekker in there as a wildcard. Hawks can gamble on that too.

Again, spot on. Thats ANOTHER good point you made about Collins. People were shocked by the SIMPLE fact that you put beef on beef. This current Hawks team is built no different than the Billy Knight crews. The ONLY difference is they have a true point guard and a better offensive system. Other than that, Horford has ALWAYS been part of the solution AND problem. The Hawks have been trying to force this 5 WING attack on the league for years. Different coach, front office, SAME philosophy. Thats why i chuckle every time i see a " Hawks need a small forward" post. Heck, they got 10 forwards and 2 point guards on their 12 deep roster........... Teague and Dennis are the only TRUE guards on the team, everybody else is a forward. Lastly, again, rebounds are POSSESSIONS. This stuff is simple. If you cant rebound, you better be shooting 40 percent or better from the field......

Exactly. You need THAT guy on the boards. You need TOUGHNESS on the boards. Heck, i wouldnt mind seeing Matt Barnes on this team. Theres a reason he STAYS in the NBA. HE brings that toughness teams need. Howard, like you said, aint gonna drop 20 a night, but the Hawks dont need that from him. Howard would neutralize Thompson and Mosgov. On defense, the Cavs wouldnt have the ability to run out and defend the wing like they did in the playoffs last year. Run out there if you want to. Howard would make them stay honest.

Why move Sap this year or next when they can just add Howard to the frontline? Signing Blake isnt the move, unless they got something else in the works we dont know about. I know YOU arent saying they gonna move Sap, but signing Blake would put that on the table.

WHERE in my post did i even HINT that i would be happy with a move for Blake? All i did was state where i felt the HAWKS were coming from if they dealt for him. IN fact, if you look at my old posts, you would see where i said " blake is mr. soft himself." I said i DIDNT want the Hawks to trade for him.

A move for Blake would signal to me that the Hawks DONT wanna entertain at all a max deal for Horford. Not that we aint already figured that out, but a Blake move puts a bow tie on it.

You know something. I HAD a post saying exactly that, but deleted it because i know folks dont wanna hear that. You are correct. Houston has shooters, but they DONT space the floor. Harden is a ball hog on that team. You space the floor and MAKE teams have to defend you inside and out. You are correct. Thats EXACTLY how he took Orlando to the finals. He would neutralize the advantage Cleveland has. If you run out to defend Korver, etc. Howard is hanging around the paint for the easy layup. Teams would then DOUBLE team him, leaving room for Sap to cut behind Howard or the kick out to the wing. All these are options the Hawks dont have with Horford. We both know Howard can still block shots and rebound. In fact, if Atlanta couldve traded Horford STRAIGHT up for Howard last year, that Eastern Conference Finals wouldnt have went down the way it did.

Hawks have NEVER had a problem winning. Their problem is taking it all the way. Until the Hawks sign a big name and change the culture, nothing else is gonna change. Keep signing DMC and Sap clones. Keep getting busted in the playoffs.

Exposure means their brands make money. This aint rocket science. Howard would OWN the Atlanta sports scene, even at this stage of his career. Other players see that, then, THEY wanna come. When the Braves signed Greg Maddox, suddenly EVERY free agent wanted to come to Atlanta. Somebody has to be the first. The Hawks havent had a legit BRAND NAME to market since Dominique and to a degree, Mutumbo.

I put MONEY that he gets talked about more on ESPN and the other media than ANY Hawk. You know exactly what i mean. Its EXPOSURE. Johnny Manziel is GARBAGE up in Cleveland, but got more media exposure than any Falcon except Julio Jones. Remember, these guys are about THEIR BRAND. No they not coming anywhere where their brand isnt getting exposure.
