I only read on this board, but I have to respond to the question of Turiaf and Curry's heart ailments. Let me begin by telling you that I am a heart surgeon in Los Angeles, and I have seen both ailments. Turiaf's disease can be cured by surgery. If his aortic valve is also involved it will have to be replaced or repaired. If it is replaced, his basketball career is over because he will have to take blood thinners. Curry is another problem. His problem can be cured by surgery or medical therapy. The problem is can the aberrant area causing his arrythmia be isolated and then ablated? Curry has a much greater risk of sudden death than Turiaf, now that Turiaf's condition has been diagnosed properly.

I inquired about Demarr Johnson at the hawks site. Their response was they had no intention of resigning him, and he was not a topic of conversation within the organization this summer. A big mistake in my opinion. He deserves a chance.

I live in Los Angeles. What I learned last year with NBA league pass is that if either team has local television coverage, than the hawks will be on NBA league pass. There were 3-4 games that were not televised becaused neither team had local coverage for that particular game.

I usually do not post here. I just read the messages and the legendary battles between Diesel and Walter. I have been following the board all over the internet. I am dissappointed that dominique wilkins is not in the mix for one of the vacant jobs as an assistant coach. I would like to know the thought process. He has made it known that he would like to coach. Is this a situation that kruger and babcock do not want, I wonder?

Although I do not post that often, I have been following the forum since AA. My earliest memories are of diesel and walter battling everyday about all things hawks. Unfortunately, they have been reduced to a blip on the radar.

I think the ESPN grade is because most "experts" in the NBA, and I use that term loosely, do not think JT is a point guard. I would like to see JT average 20+ points and 7-8 assists. Prove everyone wrong.

Excellent post. My thoughts exactly on how to use JT/DD/DJ together. Start with JT and DJ in the backcourt and go to the spread offense with JT/DD/DJ in order to pound it in to Ratliff and Shareef. Nice.

I think a case can be made for that comparison. A second unit of JT and DD is a very fast combination. Both can distribute and score. Although I think DJ may be a better version of Christie, if he continues to develope.
