  1. I'm afraid I'm too busy...I think last year I kept slowing it down, so it's probably best if I just observe.
  2. With my final pick, I select... JEREMY LIN Jeremy Lin has only played 37 games in the last two seasons, but before that he has proven himself a shooting weapon. He is a career 35% 3 point shooter with the ability to not only be a spot up shooter, but shoot off the dribble as well. He's a great passer. The only concern is his health. At the very least, he's a great mentor and will be an asset. And I can't wait to see what he does with his hair... FINAL ROSTER: PG: Russell Westbrook / Dennis Schröder / Darren Collison SG: CJ McCollum / Kyle Korver / Jeremy Lin SF: Paul George / Josh Richardson PF: Lamarcus Aldridge / Jerami Grant C: Steven Adams / Mohamed Bamba / Brook Lopez Coach: Gregg Popovich @AHF You're Up!
  3. All I have done is apologize for taking forever, missing my picks, etc. But I really am sorry! I was recently elected to city council and we have some developers trying to build warehouses near homes and, needless to say, it's consuming my life. I know, excuses, excuses... But here are my two missed picks really quick... DARREN COLLISON BROOK LOPEZ Thanks for understanding! (I honestly just hope neither of them are taken already and I overlooked it...)
  4. With the 127th pick, I select... JOSH RICHARDSON Richardson averaged career highs across the board (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks). But perhaps most impressive about J-Rich is his tenacious defense. This is huge at the Small Forward position when there are so many superstars he has to defend. He will be a great addition to the bench now that his offense is catching up with his defense. @Spud2nique You're up!
  5. SO SORRY TO BE THE ONE HOLDING THIS THING UP! Two quick picks so you guys can go on... JERAMI GRANT He has everything you want from your PF position. He can rebound and defend, even on switches. He has a decent 3 pt shot (29% in 2017-18) and averaged a career-high 53.5% from the field. He's strong in the pick and roll and great off the bench. KYLE KORVER He doesn't need much of a write-up. He's a legend from 3 and has aged well. He can still make shots and play decent defense. But in my opinion, his strongest traits for this team are his outright hussle, basketball IQ, and ability to coach others.
  6. I'll make a quick pick as I'm on my way out. With the 90th pick, I select... COACH GREGG POPOVICH This one speaks for itself...one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time. @AHF You're up...
  7. With the 79th pick in the draft, I select... MOHAMED BAMBA Mo Bamba is one of the longest players in basketball history measuring 7'.75" with a 7'10" wingspan. His length and athleticism give him the potential to be one of the best centers in the game when he learns how to make the most of these gifts. He was a McDonald's All American and last season at Texas he averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game. He still has some developing to do and is a bit skinny, but his future is very promising. I was kinda hoping the Hawks would pick him up in the draft as well. @Spud2nique You're up! PM sent.
  8. Sorry...I was covered up last week and missed so much of this thread. I'm a Steven Adams fan, so a Thunder fan by default. I really think they are putting together a team that will be difficult to beat. There's so much focus on the other big teams in the West, but I think they're going to surprise everybody. Melo wasn't a good fit last year and it hurt them, especially in the playoffs. They probably need one more piece (perimeter shooting).
  9. For my next pick, I select... DENNIS Schröder Last season Dennis averaged a career high 19.4 PPG for the Hawks. I feel like he will really flourish as the 6th Man off the bench, like he did prior to Teague leaving Atlanta. His speed and athleticism will be even more effective against other benches. Let's hope he will take this opportunity to grow up a little and really take ownership of his new role. @AHF you're up! PM Sent.
  10. With the 55th pick in the draft, I select... LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE At 33 years old, Aldridge continues to be a dominant power forward. In 2017-18, he maintained 23.1 PPG, 8.5 rebounds, and his overall FG% was 51%. @Spud2nique is up. PM sent.
  11. Sorry my pick is late...clearly overextended myself, but here goes..... With my 4th pick, I select... CJ MCCOLLUM Needing a strong shooting guard on my team, I was shocked he wasn't already taken. He's averaged 40.8% from 3 over his career and last season averaged 21.4 PPG. At just 26 years old, he has a lot of good years ahead of him. And the fact that he's been in the news recently for dissing Kevin Durant makes me love him even more.
  12. Sorry everyone...Elections in georgia this week and I’ve been busy at events. Hopefully I’ll do better going forward. Quick pick coming... STEVEN ADAMS Write up to come...
  13. You are all moving just way too fast for me! I can't keep up. Been a little busy over the last 24 hours and haven't even had time to update my Westbrook writeup. I apologize. So I'll go fast again so this can keep moving... With my next pick, I select... PAUL GEORGE PG13 brings the total package in the small forward slot. Last season he was adjusting to his new teammates, and still averaged 21.9 points per game and shot 40.1% from three. His defensive game is top notch and he had a career-high 2 steals per game last season.
  14. Sorry to slow things down! I'll go ahead and make my pick. With the 7th pick, I select... RUSSELL WESTBROOK Write-up will come later!
  15. Sure, why not? Always helps this offseason lull pass by...
  16. With my next pick, I select… Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Even while playing with ball-hog Andre Drummond, Caldwell-Pope managed to surge offensively. He averaged 14.1 PPG last season. He is also a strong perimeter defender. His ball-handling is improving along with his three-point shot. At 24 years old, there is plenty of time for him to grow. With my final pick, I select… Pau Gasol Why not have both Gasol brothers on the same team? At 36 years old, he’s still effective scoring 12.4 PPG with 7.8 rebounds. I needed one more big, so he should fill that spot nicely. My final team consists of: Point Guard: Kyrie Irving / Goran Dragic / Tyler Ulis Shooting Guard: Jimmy Butler / Kyle Korver / Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Small Forward: Otto Porter, Jr. / Taurean Prince Power Forward: Kevin Love / John Collins Center: Steven Adams / Marc Gasol / Pau Gasol Coach: Eric Spoelstra @AHF You're back on the clock!
  17. With my next pick, I select…. Tyler Ulis At under 6 feet tall, Ulis may seem small, but he’s all quickness and basketball IQ. Ulis can score, but he’s most concerned with ball movement and making quick decisions. He has the promise of being a strong starter, but will be a premier back up.
  18. Sorry for the delay! With my next pick, I select... Taurean Prince In his rookie season, Taurean managed a team best individual defensive rating of 98.4. He started the last 10 regular season games and all 6 of the playoff games. He has the physical tools to be a successful NBA small forward. He showed great improvement over last season and I expect him to continue this climb.
  19. Sorry everyone. I haven't checked in. I'm away from my computer so I'll have to make two quick picks on my phone with write ups later. Struggling a little because I wanted Gallinari or Crowder next. With my next pick I'll take... Kyle Korver He might be aging but he's invaluable as a leader/shooting coach. With my next pick I'll take... Eric Spoelstra He proved his strength as a coach last season with the Heat who lost Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh but managed to barely miss the playoffs.
  20. All that talk about how fast the top of the draft was moving...had to redeem myself!
