  1. Well since it's been updated I'd take

Shabazz-nice energy player to have as a 7th man

Rush-nice vet to add like a James Jones

Yes to all of OKC's FAs aside from collison- I've always liked their pieces

Ron baker-he's like a better younger version of Korver

Derrick Rose-Feel like he'd be a nice addition as long as it's for the right price and he accepts his backup role.

I felt this up until the get rid of THJ who is still young part. If it was preseason I was all for getting rid of THJ. This teams growth does seem to be stunted with Paul though and although I wouldn't mind having him it would be nice to see our youngsters put a new stamp on this team. I don't want to turn into the 76ers/lakers/twolves even though I'm high on the wolves and they are all stacked with talent we still need some vet leadership to win

Like I said even if we go younger it doesn't mean we'll look like those teams you listed... this team could easily be like Miami,Milwaukee,or OKC. Especially with coach Bud COACHING the talent we have.

On to our very first Western conference team and that would be the Dallas Mavericks.

Their free agents include Yogi Ferrell (no relation to Duane) and highly scouted by @sturt before becoming a Mav and coming out really on fire. Team option they keep him. Deandre Liggins I'm really not sure if his game if anybody wants to comment on him as an option for us. Was this the same dude on the Cavs? Last guy here is Nerlens Noel. Much talk of us getting him last offseason with a Jeff Teague swap. Some squawkers really liked that idea. I personally like Noel but I'm happy we got Prince for Teague over Noel. Now though, I wouldn't go after Noel, nor do I think he leaves Dallas.

The only unrestricted free agent the Mavs have is lifelong Mav Dirk. Magic, Bird, Reggie Miller, Kobe and Duncan. Joining the list of guys to wear only one team's jersey next will be the riDirkulous one, or as Nique calls him, Derek Nowinski. Hell would freeze over before Dirk wore a Hawks jersey.

    Thoughts on Mark Cuban's misfits?

I'd take Yogi.... but my only issue is he is a perimeter player, and he doesn't have a big enough name in the league to get the calls like IT does... so practically what we'd have is a jump shooting PG to backup DS17.... granted when he is hitting he's efficient as anybody, but can he continue to be as good as he was throughout an 82+ game season?

You don't value winning huh?  This is the Clippers pathway to successful losing.  Let me give you the cliftnotes.  Young players don't know how to win on this level.  They can't be coached up.  We are already a fragile market (i.e. we can't draw FAs well).  So what you propose is making our team a perennial loser and then losing these young FAs to other teams who are established... Hello San Antonio. I don't want to be a feeder team.

Lastly.  What is this thing about we drafted them and now all the sudden they are great and worth getting rid of everybody else for.  Many of you had a hissy fit when we traded Bebe... and Adrien Payne.   Last I Looked those guys have done Diddley Squat. I don't trust that Bembry is going to be a star simply because we drafted him.  I don't even know if he will be an everyday player.

So you are right.. it's a crazy idea.  Teams that rebuild usually end up making it no further than mediocre.  Hello Minnesota.  Hello Sacramento.  Hello Orlando.

Teams that reload and take advantage of FAcy is still playing.

Hello Houston.  Hello Cleveland.  Hello Boston.

I'm not saying don't sign FA's but for the best interest of the hawks we need to build around DENNIS. No more over the hill guys who're 30+ just to keep us around the 40 win total. We need to get younger and more athletic. Like the Bucks (good drafting example),Blazers, and Thunder. Because quite simply and like you said we can't draw FAs in like Boston,Miami, etc. so drafting good is the only way we will contend for a title.

  5. What if... maybe... just maybe.... we forget about resigning over the hill players and build around the guys we drafted? Crazy idea huh.... it's not like we had 2 guys (1 being a rookie) that showed out in the postseason in every single game.... Whose with me? Let's build this biatch around DS17 and Prince!!!! Forget THJ and Sap.... Build around the guys who showed out when it mattered most and who can help us in the future. Make them the forefront not an after thought

  6. I honestly think Dwight doesn't have a roll in the starting lineup aside from cleanup the glass and defend simply because we have 3 ball dominant players on the court when he's in the game also. It doesn't make sense to force into the post when Sap,THJ,and DS17 can all score consistently and it flows well.

  7. I don't know about anything to do with his back, but yesterday during game 3 Dwight took a spill that was really overlooked. It looked like it hurt man. He was mixing it up with Morris and he went up for a tip out rebound to Baze an he fell face first on the floor an didnt catch himself. Look like it knocked him up pretty good. He didn't play much after that so maybe some stiffness in his back is what's getting to him.

  8. Here is what I've noticed....

1.Schröder has came to play. This is why we paid him because he's shown up both games and went toe to toe with Wall. (HE DUNKED ALL OVER GORTAT)

2.Howard hasn't shined but I can't tell if that's his lack of effort or his lack of opportunity.

3.Coach Bud is ludicrous at the moment with his rotations... Moose and Dunleavy over Thabo and Humph? Say what

4.Bazemore needs to pack his stuff up and leave

5.THJ can walk along with Sap.... build this roster AROUND the guy you paid to be "the guy" don't get caught up in the playoff streak build for the future!

Based on what? This is how I see it:

    1 Seed - 2016 Cleveland > 2017 Boston (obviously)

    2 Seed - 2016 Toronto < 2017 Cleveland

    3 Seed - 2016 Miami < 2017 Toronto

    4 Seed - 2016 Atlanta < 2017 Washington

    5 Seed - 2016 Boston < 2017 Atlanta

    6 Seed - 2016 Charlotte < 2017 Milwaukee

    7 Seed - 2016 Indiana < 2017 Indiana

    8 Seed - 2016 Detroit < 2017 Chicago

So... basically the only seed you can definitely say was stronger last year was the 1 seed. I'd take all of my picks straight up in a 7 game series.

Ok pause.... Detroit last year was better than Chicago this year. Miami was better than Toronto this year and the Pacers should equal each other out considering they're the same team just different pieces

If Bud thinks he can go 10 deep in the playoffs, he's going to be in for a rude awakening.

The opposing team will significantly cut their rotations down, when their bench players aren't performing.  You keep your best players out on the floor as much as possible.

Especially with Bud having a tendency of playing all 5 bench players together.  That regular season rotation stuff never works in the playoffs.  Guys like Millsap and possibly Dennis, better be prepared to go at least 38+ minutes per game.  I fully expect Wall and Beal to play that much, if not more.

You name me another bench in the NBA that can go to Cleveland and beat Cleveland
