  1. DJ was driving the car. They were making a right turn and the left front tired popped. They lost control of the car and hit a few trees. That's pretty much the end of it. He wasn't charged with anything. The reason not much was said afterwards is that it's really not much of a story to the majority of teh people out there. As there was no real investigation into what happened, there wasn't much to report on.
  2. Wasn't he the guy that flattened Hendu a few years ago? I know he's had several other altercations like that though.
  3. even if they don't pick him up straight out. There's a good chance they'll invite him into camp next season, if he's fully healed and ready to go. I think that if he's healed and working out hard, someone will have him in for workouts. At that point it's up to him.

    Boxscore

early on especially though. With Theo still finding his stride, I think they'll go to Nazr quite a bit early on. I say he earned it though. He showed last season that he can play in this league and having backing up someone like Theo is going to help him even more. I think he'll get 20+mpg regardless of what Theo does. They'll find ways to get him in the game.
  5. I voted yes and it has nothing to do with him being an entertainer. That has nothing to do with the NBA hall of fame. The fact is, when he wanted to, he would make you a winner by doing whatever the team needed. He played great D, rebounded like nobody in his era and (when he wanted to) gave you as much on the court as anyone in the history of the game.
  6. Dermarr is the proud father of a brand new baby boy. It's been about a week or so. Forgot to post it. Anyway, congrats DJ!
  7. wallace marked himself way before that happened. He had an entire season to mock the refs and make an a** out of himself. You wouldn't defend him if you weren't trying to prove one of your points anyway. He brought it on himself. Don't try to pin the blame for his stupidity and childish behavior on the refs. save some of your credibility for the season.
  8. Good excuse... Tmac is a one trick pony. You yourself have condemed players for being the only star on a team. Yet you use it as backing for mcgrady? yeah right, good one.
  9. http://www.nba.com/preview2002/General_Manager_Survey.html 92% of league GM's think kobe is the best SG in the league... HEEEH
  10. You caught him red handed! HEHE. He will ignore anything if he thinks it helps him prove his point, even his own words. He's been trying to convince us all that the lakers aren't that good, Shaq isn't great and that Kobe isn't a franchise player for a while now. It's almost impossible to tell that he doesn't like them very much!
  11. You always give excuses for why the OTHER teams lost instead of giving credit to the Lakers for just being a good team. They are the Yankees of the NBA and I love seeing them lose. But trying to paint excuses for why the other teams didn't win is the sign of a sore loser, through and through. 75% of the reason they win is Shaq and Kobe. If it wasn't for those two, they wouldn't get close enough for the role players or the coach to matter. Trying to use the other teams injuries as an excuse is especially weak coming from you. You wouldn't use injuries to defend our poor season. But you use it to explain away the Lakers winning? I'd expect better from you. Drawing conspiracy theories around the officiating is just plain laughable. Find me one winning team in NBA history that didn't get the breaks in the finals series! Heck, you could explain away every ring Michael Jordan got with that one.
  12. I love the way DG has came out in the summer leagues. He could have easily pouted his way off this team (as some writers would have had us believe last season). But he came out and so far has played with confidence, if you can judge such a thing from boxscores. As it has been said many times though, the position will not be won with offense. The player with the best defense will get it, and rightly so. I think that will be Ira. BUT, that isn't a bad thing! I think Dions confidence will be just as high if he's coming off the bench. Maybe even higher. He has said that he's ready and willing to do whatever they ask of him. I think if they give him the minutes (ie. show some confidence in him), he'll come out and get it done. Besides, we need someone in the backcourt who can come off the bench and draw the other teams focus a little. If we can get a consistant 10-14 out of Dion, off the bench, we'll win a LOT of games.
  13. just like the fans of every other NY pro sport. Their reputation is well earned. They are the teams you love to hate.

    Brookwood

how do we go about getting tickets? I might make it depending on the time.
  15. The guy never produced here and seriously looked like he didn't have what it took. To say that he could/would have done what he did in L.A this year, if he had stayed is silly. The kid obviously had issues with the pressure of filling the spots behind maddux, glavin and millwood. I'd put money down that if he had stayed here, he wouldn't have had near the season he did. I agree wiht moving chipper back to 3rd. His defense wasn't that bad and his offense is the best in baseball at 3rd. Vinny Castilla had NO CHANCE of matching what chipper coiuld do there. They have to resign at least one of the "big two". To let them both go would be stupid. There is NOBODY out there that we can sign that will give us what they could give us. I say resign both if we can. THose guys will continue to pitch at this level for another 3-4 years, easily. If you put Maddux and/or Glavin in Arizona or another high offense team, they would easily net 22+ wins. No way you let both those guys walk. I say do what it takes to keep both of them. I don't think they'll demand as much as some people do. There's also no need to move Andruw Jones. While his average isn't as good as it should be. You aren't going to find very many players in baseball who bat .250 and still give you near 40 homers, 100rbi's and the defense that he brings. His average doesn't show it but he really improved this year with his walks and fewer strikeouts. I think TP will get andruw where he needs to be. He did it twice this year But Andruw just couldn't maintain it. It's going to be interesting to see what they do though.

    DJ Update

he was only going to be in the halo for 6-8 weeks anyway, so that's not much ahead of schedule, if any.
  17. That have come from the lows that we did to get back to the brink of respectability. I don't consider Indiana in that group simply because they never fell has far as we did. They were still respectable. They've been on the edge of the playoffs the entire time. The clippers I don't consider because they have always been bad and have yet to get good. The always seem to have good talent but it never turns into wins. They improved by getting Brand and Miller, no doubt. But are they going to pay the money to make it matter? I can't help but discount their improvement until I see that it's not a way of staying cheap. Now I agree totally about the wiz. They've been the worst of the NBA for years. When MJ took over everyone said "he'll never be able to clear their cap problems". BAM! In no time he traded their aging, overpriced talent for cheap, young, quality players. They've really made strides to respectabilily. MJ is playing simply to increase the quality of his product, and it is working. A few big trades and the Wiz are expected to contend for a spot. He is one solid player away from being able to retire again and say "Don't bet against MJ suckers". All of those teams did improve though. Until one of them makes the playoffs (apart from the pacers), it's hard to say improved the most. I think we'll have better chemistry than the Wizards or the clippers though.
  18. Iverson is already hurt and is already trying to ignore the fact that he's hurt. He'll be on the IL before the all-star break. Injuries and stubborness are going to ruin what could be a stellar career.
  19. Dion put up a great game last night. If he can deliver those numbers consistantly through the season, we'll be set. Was he covering T-mac? Whoever was did a great job.
  20. might bring out the Hendu we all expected he could be a few years ago. There's no reason that given the minutes, he can't be a 14/6 guy and our 6th man again. I'm not saying he will or pinning any hopes that it'll happen. But If he's motivated by being around an old rival, it might encourage him to up his game and his level of commitment to the game. Maybe he doesn't want to look like a slacker anymore with G.rob around. Only time will tell.
  21. That's stretching it quite a bit thin there. At least see the guy play against real competition before you start giving him props.
  22. I read somewhere he had added 15-20lbs of muscle.
  23. If the braves are seriously on the market, look for Turner to buy them back. He has said repeatedly that he wished he never lost them. He has the money to get them back easily.
  24. I define basketball fundamentals as being able to shoot the ball and accept that passing the ball wins games. And sorry, but most of the euro players have better fundamentals than the majority of NBA draftees. It's just a fact. That's why you hear so much about upside and potential when talking about draft picks. Because they LACK FUNDAMENTALS or because they are terribly one-dimensional players. GMs hope that they can teach these guys how to play the game. Was Kwame Brown picked because he has fundamentals? Hell no. He was picked on athletic ability ONLY. He has zero fundamentals. Just like most players coming into the draft.
