  1. I would trade the pick. If I couldn't trade the pick I'd choose Wiseman. I really like Haliburton, but taking him in the top three is a no go for me.

Comparing Obi Toppin to John Collins is like comparing dried rice to macaroni and cheese. Collins is a budding star. I think Collins is 7 months older than Toppin and it would take him at least two or three years to get where John Collins is now. The only way I move Collins is if Giannis or A.D. are coming.

  2. No, we can win without AD or Giannis. The point I was trying to make was that regardless of who we draft playing time is going to be a problem, except maybe PG or PF. The guys we have now need playing time so they can get better. There's only 48 minutes in a game and you can't play 12 people. 8 spots are already taken with Trae, Collins, Cam, Huerter, Hunter, Capela, Dedmond, and Bruno. We're going to bring in or sign at least 2 free agents because of the cap rules, and a high draft pick. Can you name any player in this draft who is going to come in here and start or get major playing time at C, SF, or SG. I'm just looking at the numbers.

  3. Last night LeBron said the redeem team would beat the dream team in a close game. IMO there's no way they beat the dream team. First off I will say that the Dream Team was incomplete without Nique and Zeke. Nique and Zeke in and Mullin and Laettner out. I know Larry Bird and Magic were in their mid 30's but Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and Karl Malone were only 29 years old and still in their primes. LeBron was 23 and Kobe was also 29. Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh would've been destroyed by Patrick Ewing and David Robinson. Let me stop rambling. Which team would you pick and why?

  4. Even though I believe Ant is the best player in the draft, I still would try to trade that pick if we win the lottery. IMO our team is getting to a point where we have to try and get that big piece, AD or Giannis even though that's probably a pipe dream. We can't keep all the core pieces. Trae is a great player but I believe his greatest importance is for him and the organization to start winning and to continue pushing the motto "Trae will get you the ball" to star players across the league. Hopefully AD or Giannis will recognize what Trae can do for them. Could you imagine how much better AD would be with Trae getting him the rock in the spots were he wants? I won't doubt Trae but I think he's a 2, not a 1. We have to trade for that 1 eventually, or until Cam takes that role.

  5. Spud, I believe it comes down to numerous things: That players drive to win and get better, his makeup, the coaching that he receives and the team who selects him. AAU basketball has hurt just as many kids as its helped. I truly believe Ant has a good foundational background to overcome what he's going to deal with.

  6. I really like Okoro, watched him play many times in high school. There's no doubt he'll be a good NBA player. His offensive game is really nice even though he struggled on that end at Auburn. However, I believe Edwards is the better player right now and for the foreseeable future. People forget that Ant Man would've been a senior in high school last year. For him to do what he did at Georgia on that stage with no help was phenomenal. By year two in the NBA, Ant will be must see TV.

  7. That would be a lot of money tied up at one position. Why do you think Harrell is a perfect fit? Do you see him playing some PF with Capela at Center, and how does Collins fit in your plan if we draft Toppin. I certainly wouldn't mind us signing Hayward though.

  8. 1. The Falcons:  There only real issue has been not protecting Matt Ryan, their offensive line will be much improved.. They have very good offensive weapons and the front office seems to be on a mission.

    2. The Braves: I love the general manager, Acuna, Albies, Freeman, Soroka, Fried, and the team in general but let's just face the facts. The owners won't do what it takes financially to close the deal.

    3. The Hawks: Picking them third isn't a bad thing. I like our path right now but the key is figuring out who will be the next piece to come (hopefully Devin Booker) before the big fish. Believe me we're going to get that piece, this year or next.

  9. Yes we are in a good position. I like Edwards, Wiseman, Haliburton is growing on me, and Deni. With all that said, I hope we wind up in the top three of the lottery. I believe trading the pick is the right thing to do. It's time to cash in some of our assets. I would trade Hunter, Dedmond, Huerter, and this years 1st for Devin Booker and  two 2nd round picks. Then I would try to convince AD that Trae, Booker, and him could rule for years. We could then move Collins for a nice return. After AD says no, I would bring in two veterans on 1 year deals like Paul Millsap for 18-20 million and Aron Baynes for around 10-15 million if he's a free agent. It's important we keep enough cap space for 2021. I believe we'll get at least one star from that free agency class. I love our core but you have to be willing to trade some of those pieces for a bigger piece. I'll keep speaking it into existence until it happens.

  10. This trade is almost as bad as the Bradley Beal trade scenarios. Beal is a small 6-3 scoring point guard playing shooting guard. Beal being on the Hawks would be like having two Trae Young's on the court at the same time, which would spell disaster.

  11. If not AD, I would push for Booker if the price is reasonable. This young man is still not in his prime yet. His defense can improve. Capela, Cam, Hunter, and Dedmond will help provide team defense. Booker can also play the point if needed. I would only bring in free agents on one year deals because we have to save cash for the big free agency class the following year. We need to add 1 or 2 veteran tough guys like P.J. Tucker or even a Paul Milsap for one year.

  12. I know right. Thanks Larry Drew.

It's still early but the consensus right now is for Giannis. Yes Giannis is more athletic and probably a little better but here's my dilemma. AD might be the better fit because he's not as ball dominant as Giannis. I also believe AD fits better with Capela. Thoughts?
