THERE IT IS, HAWKS FANS!!! Absolute blockbuster! I can't wait for the 30/30 on how this trade came together.
-
Nah, that's the second worst -- they're still hanging on to the worst one, Tobias Harris. You can probably make an argument Westbrook has the worst contract in the league right now, but it made sense for OKC to hand it out to him at the time.
-
Pole position lmao this guy think the NASCAR/NBA overlap is big enough to be throwing out that kind of language
-
That would be very nice, but to be honest, we're in a position where there are few things that can happen I would be unhappy about. TS would need to really blunder some deals and I don't see it happening... I'm just looking forward to watch the guys play again -- it's been too long!!
-
I feel like we could get by with him at 3 depending on the team/matchups. He's getting older though, not sure if he's slowing down
-
I like this. I wonder how many years the deal will be. 2?
-
Using advanced stats to judge a player removes all context such as coaching, schemes, teammates, etc. All of those stats have pretty big downsides to them. Half of them are actually just measuring usage+how good is your team. The distinction between stats and talent/ability is what makes good NBA scouts different than arm-chair box score watchers.

This is egregiously fake. Trading Collins for a guy that can just opt out and sign with us?
-
I'll die a bit inside if we offer that, but it won't shock me. If we were to do $30M/year for 3 years I wouldn't hate it as bad. That would line up much better with Cam/Hunter getting paid
-
Yeah, agreed. I'm waiting to refresh one time and hear Gordon opted out and plans to sign a $100M contract for 4 years in Atlanta. I wonder what other free agents we have a shot at. I would love to grab a versatile guy like Jerami Grant
-
What is the deadline on trades? I know the all-star break typically, but what about practically speaking to start the season with a team? Will most of the action be done after tomorrow with the draft?
-
I remember this vividly -- it was such a ridiculous play, made me lol... I would love to have Rubio here though. He seems to have a positive attitude and I love his game.
-
Errr, I'm not saying Hayward shouldn't come because he's white. My understanding is he was clashing with guys in Boston over political stuff. I don't really know how true that is but if guys are passionate and hold opposing views on politics/social issues it absolutely can affect on court chemistry.
-
It does feel like a better fit for him to be honest... our team has been active in the community, getting ppl out to vote [to defeat trump], and in general seem to get along well and be on the same page with each other culturally. I don't know how Hayward would fit in here off the court. I wouldn't be upset if we got him but I won't be upset if he goes to Indiana either.
-
Let us lower our expectations!!!
-
It doesn't make sense. Why would we give up assets for him when he can opt out and sign the same deal with us?
-
Yeah, this is my worry as well... We have $50M to allocate and pretty soon there will be nothing but scraps left.
-
I have it on now -- forgot how much I hate radio, it's like 70% commercials!
-
I think what this means is multi-year offers for Hayward haven't been great, so he's willing to let Boston try to get value out of him opting in and being used as a trade piece. Not sure who would be entertaining Hayward trades though as he'd be an expensive 1 year rental
-
We have to grow into a respectable team before any FAs will want to come here. No one wanted to go to Golden State in 2012 just like no one wants to join us right now. I don't even blame these guys -- it's a huge risk coming into a losing program in a smaller market. If Trae/Collins/Cam can turn things around and expand the market here (and win games obviously), we can grow into a program guys have on their short lists.
-
Yep, he's not coming here. The only way we land Hayward is a huge overpay on a 4 year deal -- probably to the tune of $125M/4 years.
-
Can't wait until details are released and kyrie is a part of the trade
-
so much for the nets talks being a smokescreen... i wonder if the nets are thinking about shipping kyrie -- i don't see how you run a kyrie/harden lineup without one of them massively overhauling their game, which feels risky this late in their careers
-
We've been doing nothing but losing for 3 years and we're not a big market team, so this is the most likely outcome and probably always has been. I'm happy with our young core and I hope they continue to grow and get better, so i we just draft at 6 and try to win this year, I'll still be excited to watch us play
