  1. I gave up trying to understand the cap because its futile. No matter what the rules say the Lakers, Boston, etc always seem to get the players that they want. The rules always works out in their favor. Prime example the possibility that the Nets have a legitimate chance to get Harden. No matter how many bad contracts or lack of assets they always seem to get better.

  2. No particular order:

    1. Milwaukee

    2. Boston

    3. Miami

    4. Brooklyn

    5. Indiana

    6. Raptors

    7. Sixers

    8. Wizards

    9. Orlando

That leaves Atlanta, Charlotte, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland. Those top 8 are locked in pretty much.  It's go to be a tough road. What we do have in our favor is continuity if we don't make any drastic moves. A losing record will not probably get you in this year. Damn it's going to be war!!

While the Nets & Sixers are believed to be frontrunners for James Harden, Boston Celtics are making a late push for Harden. They are trying to flip Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward for picks and young assets that would appeal to Houston, frantically.

Looks like an arms race has started!!!

And about 3.5 milliseconds after trading Kevin Heurter, we'll be searching for the next Kevin Heurter.

Grass ain't always greener, mayne.  Let it breath ... unless you're bringin' back an actual difference maker.  Then maybe we can talk.

But, so far, I ain't heard no tell of anything that gets my attention in a Heurter trade.

This^^^^ We are going to regret moving this kid. Travis said on the radio that Huerter was the player that they received the most trade inquiries about. It seems that his skillset is desired around the league.  There is a reason for that but he isn't good enough to a Hawk.  We need to do whatever we need to get better but we damn sure better do something that will make our team better.  Elite shooting and playmaking skills are a premium in this league today.

  5. I had no idea about Russ being willing to come to Atlanta. I was just putting his name out there because we got cap space. I had no idea he was making that much money going forward. Damn that's alot of money!!

None of us really know what Trae is thinking and the organization sure as hell shouldn't make moves based on his desires alone.  Like it or not, we are still in the rebuilding phase.  Having said that, it's not controversial to say we should use a big portion of our cap space to at least try and surround him with some better, veteran talent and leadership.  But if it means making some desperate move with this 6th pick that only makes us superficially better for a year or maybe two, then screw that.  Let's see how things pan out in the coming month.

I agree that the organization should not be making moves based on his desires. I sure don't like the fact that he is with Klutch Sports.

    Hawks Leaks - Thread Two

    renderTimingPixel.png

Hi guys, will drop what I'm hearing.

-Expect a flurry of activity, rumors, etc starting after today's vote. Now that things are becoming more concrete, teams are ready to start really rolling. Buckle up because it's going to be crazy well past Dec 1.

-The move to hire McMillan was huge for the Hawks, they are very, very excited about it and while I don't have sources around the league from what I've heard 2nd hand is that everyone thinks it was a solid move that will make a huge difference. But, this goes deeper than just getting a good coach. It's about installing defense and intensity and getting another voice there. This will be big for guys like Trae but also tie it back in to rumored targets and how that would affect decisions in projecting potential......

-Obviously the Jrue news is huge, of course the Hawks are interested. But it all comes back to price. The Hawks know there's a lot of similar players, wings/guards who are a bit older that can help that are available and they also know they are one of few teams with space and assets to take anyone. They won't rush into a deal because there are options. I'm told they'd rather take an option B on a favorable deal than overpay for an option A.

-Obviously stuff all over, but I was told that Utah, surprisingly, was calling the Hawks often about moving up to the #6 pick as they are targeting a player who would be there. Obviously a big jump from where they are in the draft but it could turn into a 3-team deal where the Hawks get a few veteran pieces. Stay tuned on this one.

-I heard before but I'm told now again the Hawks are close to acquiring a 19+ppg scorer that would definitely be a starter/starter minutes kind of guy. Thats as specific as I can give but this one would be nice for Hawks fans. There's other moves that may happen that take priority over this one but I think they feel genuinely good about this move's chances.

-More players are available than you may think. Teams know what they're chasing and they know the incoming salary cap restrictions so not many teams are going to tread expensive water. Lots of calls flying about teams trying to make big trades, moves, etc. and the Hawks are a very focal team (The only reason I would know) because of their picks, cheap players that can crack rotations and cap space.

-Expect way more draft trades than normal just basing off activity the Hawks are seeing. And expect those rumors to start flaring. The Celtics rumors of consolidating picks are real but the Hawks don't want that many rookies. Maybe a 3-team deal for a team looking for a treasure trove but nothing super serious there yet according to my guy.

Hawks Leak Info - Thread One

    renderTimingPixel.png

Hi guys. I’m connected to someone very high up at the Hawks who would know. Sometimes I ask him/her questions and they respond. I have some info from the last few weeks up to today and figured I’d finally share. I’m a regular poster but anonymity is key.

    1. There is A LOT of pressure to trade up for Edwards. Ressler, the whole business side, even members of the team (Trae) want him. The basketball side likes him but worries about his attitude without a strong leader on the team. The price is high but Kevin may be a casualty to get Edwards especially if Ball goes #1.

    2. Trae, Hunter and Cam are off limits right now. Everyone else is being talked about in various deals, various degrees of seriousness. We’ll see how it goes but don’t expect any of those three to be moved for anything and ignore any trades with them. Yes, Capela could be moved as well if a big deal comes.

    3. The basketball side really, really likes Obi Toppin. They think he’s a 20+ ppg scorer who can create his own shot. Not worried about the defense because they think they can hide him with Capela, Cam, Hunter. They know how bad the bench was and want to improve scoring ability but also think he could make John tradeable for another wing and keep flexibility. Its similar reasons to why they signed Jabari but they think Obi is better and gives much more than Jabari did.

    4. There’s some interest in older guys on expiring (Hayward, Derozan, etc) but they don’t want to shoot themselves in the foot for 2021 because they think at least one big fish will consider them. Keep an eye on guys like Oubre too, same expiring but slightly younger. They want to add one more 25-30mpg guy they can rely on to really make the playoff push but not if its too expensive.

Thats it for now. I’ll update later but those are some of the big ones right this second.

Just got this off of reddit!! Makes no mention of John Collins. SUPES are you hearing any of this??

  9. I really wish that we had the opportunity to see  Trae/Huerter/Hunter/Reddish/Collins/Capela/Bruno play together. It's like now we have to make moves without even knowing what we really have. I sure wish that they would have did the second bubble for non-playoff teams. We are at a decided disadvantage in that we made a game changing move but was not able to see what it does for us. My question is how much will it impact us going forward?

  11. Honestly at this point I don't see either Golden State or Minnesota keeping those picks. They are too good to see if young talent pans out. They are going to trade the picks I think that is pretty safe bet. GS is looking to be in the title picture next year and MIN has 2 guys with 100 million dollar contracts already.

  12. Come on fellas you all know that we are going to get screwed as usual. I am going with the 4th pick or lower. Hell New York probably will get the 1st pick. We will not move. 4th pick. Hell don't be surprised if teams below us jump right over us. I like where I team is right now so I really don't care where we pick--just know that we are going to get screwed.
