  1. I will start. JJ is more active than John Collins at the PF spot. My issue with John was that if his shot wasn't falling (and it wasn't a lot last season) hw offered nothing else. JJ has good handles, good court vision,  and hustles on D. I saw one series the other night where he guarded all five positions on the other team. I am also noticing more ball movement and less of the one one one stuff. I think that even with DJ and Trae our strength will be our team as a whole. Another thing that I have noticed is that they are not settling for the 3 as much--these guys will drive or move in for a better shot.

The way I see it, Toronto is not going to pay Siakim the Supermax.   No player is worth 52 Million dollars. Especially if he's not good enough to get you into the playoffs.

This^^^ I for the  life of me can't understand why these guys are getting this money they can't

    1) Get you to the playoffs

    2) Make their teammates better

    3) Produce without having another(or 2 more) 40 million player on the team.

  3. If everything on this team stayed the exact same on this team player wise and we swapped out Trae for Kyrie Irving--would we be substantially better? I am referring to the not crazy version of Kyrie. How would a Kyrie/Murray backcourt work for you all?  Plus it would give Trae a chance to play with his buddy Luka. Not wanting this trade but am just curious.

  4. We need more guys out there who will do what it takes to win and not just "get his". That has always been my issue with JC. If his shot isn't falling he doesn't step it up in other places. This kid here is special. He can rebound, play D, make hustle plays, and he can knock down the three. He is what I was hoping JC would have been. If he can work on that jumper folks we will have someone special. He just has the dog in in. Same can be said about AJ--but he needs to be able to be effective even when his shot isn't falling.

He had some juicy bits on the Hawks. He doesn't even want to really touch on it. Folks we have some problems and they have been present since the summer.  Huerter trade? DJM trade? John Collins issues?  Disagreements at the top? What the hell is going on fellas? Hawks start at 7:10 mark.

.............players I have had the misfortune of seeing play for my Hawks!!!

I was going to add Chris Crawford but he did give us 8 solid years as a Hawk. Not too many players can say that considering he was a 2nd round pick 50th overall.

Shooting off the screen is not as easy as you think.

I don't know if Trae has that ability.   Watching Trae, he can shoot off of his own movement.   i.e. he gets a guy in the switch, he makes two moves and jacks the shot.   As I watch Trae, he searches for his spot when he has the ball.   He's very unlike what I have seen with Reggie and what I see with Euro Bogi.   EuroBogi and Reggie can do one thing that I have not seen Trae do...  Square up.   Even though Reggie had the most flicted release, when you looked at his body, his body was always square.. which made him excellent off the screen.  Bogi does that too.   Probably why both of them can shoot high percentage from three.   If Trae is square, I really can't tell.   He kinda hoists up the shot from what I consider odd angles.  It's unique and impressive but I think it's based on being in his preferred spot.

Even now.  Off ball.  Trae is a killer when he's already standing in his spot and somebody passes him the ball.  I have to watch closely to see if he can catch and shoot... I don't know if he can.

AJ has that same trait as Bogi.  He squares up... so even though I don't know if he can catch and shoot consistently, I believe that he can.

Diesel, this is a good point many fail to consider. Trae doesn't have a quick shot and actually it's a slow release. He needs to set his aim/square up before he shoots the ball. Guys like Curry, Reggie Miller, Klay, etc can get their shots off in mere milliseconds. AJ has a slow release as well.
