  1. I am pretty sure that we are not getting Joe Johnson. From what I am hearing they are under alot of pressure to keep the team intact from last year. Just because a player can't play more than one position or isn't 6-7 or 6-8 that doesn't mean that they can't be a good Atlanta hawk. I really believe that BK will have us screwed royally before it is all over with.
  2. I said sooner or later the free agent pool will be drying up. And if you haven't noticed alot of players have committed to sign. What is BK's philosophy. We need onwership to reign him in and check him. His job is to get the best talent that he can get for this franchise not for him to get the players that he personally likes. I mean do you want another summer where we walk away empty handied due to his arrogance.
  3. I am sick and tired of watching free agent after free agent get signed and we just sit here and do nothing. I think that BK owes the fans more. Are you telling me that we had abslutely no interest or need is trying to talk with Mcginnis or Keyon Dooling, or Juan Dixon. He claims that he doesn't want people to know who we are interested in but it is starting to appear that he isn't talking with anyone at all. I have read rumors that such and such GM is interested in player a or b then that player signs with that team. it seems that we are only targeting the guys we have the least chance of getting. What the F*ck do we need Damon Wilkins for? Every player on our team is a SF. Sooner or later the free agent pool is going to dry up and once again we will be stuck with CBA players and guys who weren't drafted. As for our last draft pick why in the hell did he get someone who won't even be in the league for a few years. WE ARE ON NO F*CKIN SHAPE TO STOCKPILE TALENT FOR THE FUTURE WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET NOW. HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN RANDOLPH MORRIS WITH THAT PICK. WHAT THE HELL IS REALLY GOING ON FOLKS!!! I AM GETTING WORRIED.
  4. I would have to go with Josh Childress? I think that he needs to work on that ugly ass shot but he was able to parlay that into a successful college career so maybe it may be money this season
  5. How good of a pro do you guys think he can be?
  6. Would fronloading a contract allow us to have more caproom later on the life of the contract? If we pay JJ 20 million dollars this season of a 70 million contract how would the remaining years play out 12.4 X 4 or would the starting salary be lower and increase with the 10.5% raises annually. If this is so beneficial why won't more teams do it. If we frontload his contract wouldn't that eat up nearly all of our cap space. Exactly how does this work??
  7. Guys let's be real. We are the Atlanta Hawks. No one wants to play for us we are the most disrespected team in the NBA. We are suffering for the bad decisions and images that were made years ago. No one expects much from us so we really have nothing to lose. We need to offer Curry a max contract or anyone else a max contract if it will get them here (not guys like Steven Hunter). We can have all the money in the world but until we prove we can have a winning season or two or three even if it is .500 ball we will never attract anyone. We are the ugly girl at the prom. We need to get whatever we can get screw the high road that Billy Knight is taking. That will get us the samething it got us last year-NOTHING. I am tired of seeing other teams improve through free ageny while we sit pat and refuse to overpay or pay anyone. What the hell is it to have the money if you are not going to spend it. Hell 90 percent of our team are on rookie contracts. Hell Danny Ferry has seemingly accomplished more in just under a month on the job. BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS!!!
  8. Larry Brown is gone from Detroit. They will buy out his contract. He is heading to New York for sure. Is Marbury his type of player and if not he could mean that he is dealt to us.
  9. next season in the Eastern Conference before the hawks will. I am telling you guys we can do it. I am sure that when you get to the bottom 6-8 you'll come to see that those teams aren't that much better than the hawks. We are going to win at least 25 games next year. remember sub .500 ballclubs can make the playoffs in the east.
  10. I Like the way that you think dude. If these guys step up we may make a run for the lower seeds.
  11. If Salim turns out to be a decent point guard (very possible from what I have been reading)can we make the playoffs with the squad we have even if we have Collier or Al playing Center (or any stiff). If the two Joshes improve over last year is that enough to at least attempt a run at the playoffs? I am really coming to the conclusion that we are not going to sign anyone other than a 3rd tier free agent. I know we need a center but we need to face the reality that we may not get one. Who knows maybe Collier has been working on his game and may come back a beast.
  12. I don't think that Nash is 34 years old already, dude.
  13. that Salim has way better ball handling skills that anyone expected. He reportedly shot the lights out yesterday at practice and demonstrated that he may be able to run point for us. Jeff Wothernton(790 NBA reporter)attended the practice and stated that Woodson and Knight want to establish starting five of interchangeable players (we already know this). He also stated that Curry has been a lazy player sine high school and that someone who is nearly 7 ft. tall and only grabs 5 rebounds a game shows you just what they are all about. He stated that who ever gives this guy a contract deserves whatever they get. The two Chucks believe that Chandler is the guy we need and that Knight will make highs bids for both guys knowing that Chicago can't keep both of them and that Curry's weight is going to be a problem once he gets the contract.
  14. I think that they should run this promotion again this year.
  15. I stated when Stotts got fired that we should have kept him and I want to establish that again> Watch how well he does with the Bucks. Damn everyone who leaves us goes on to bigger and better things while we are the same franchise no one wants to play for. We should have kept Stotts. You mark my words on that one! Did he get fired because he didn't tank the season like they wanted him to?
  16. He's nowhere near worth the max. It is amazing how these average players are getting max money. He can score and that is about it. He has a bad habit of disappearing in games. A max contract, you got to be kidding me.
  17. Could it be done within the guidelines of a standard NBA contract or would the player's union not allow it since it could open the door for other things such has criminal behavior, arrests, etc.?
  18. I don't mean just sign a bum off of the street but rather someone who would be productive.
  19. Curry is a risk we should be willing to take but we should have a clause in his contract that if he drops dead from a heart problem we don't owe his family one dime and that his contract becomes void. He and his agents should run some of the same risks that the team who pays him run. It not fair to us or the Bulls to give him a near max contract then he can't play anymore or god forbids passes away. Everyone should share the risk. Now if he wants the big money this would be the way to go.
  20. We need to do something. Earl Watson just won't cut it.
  21. Let's be honest for a second. No one will sign with us outright. The only way that we will get anyone is to trade for them. I say we go for Marbury. We can't probably get any worse than we already are. His contract runs out before our guys become free agents (restricted that is). We are to the point where we have to take whatever we can get our hands on. No need to talk about attitudes, etc. We can't afford to be choosey. Hell we couldn't even land a bum like Steven Hunter. Hughes is not coming here, Joe Johnson isn't coming here, Dally isn't coming here, Curry isn't coming here, CHandler isn't coming here. The only way we will get anyone will be through trades. Hell, I don't see anything wrong with having Marbury here in ATL. He was a team player last year but New York sucks. They didn't win that many more games than we did with what 1/8th the payroll. There are alot of New Yorkers in ATL who would pay to see Marbury. He may have a Nash like effect here in Atlanta. If this trade is some how possible we need to do, no more chasing bums who don't want to play for us. We don't have Sh*t to loose. Let start taking chances. Remember the bulls took a chance on drafting two high schoolers and now it appears to be paying off for them. It appears to me that we aren't trying hard enough. ROLL THE DICE!!!
  22. Do you guys remember how the Pistons tricked us into signing Koncak to that fat contract thus killing us financially. If Cleveland, Chicago,Washington and Philly keep their players with near max contracts it will kill them financially. It seems that a good chunk of this year's free agent class are eastern conference players. If we just offer near max or overbid we could panic the teams into signing their players and if not we would land some good player(s). Now with that being said I do realize that this could backfire but a team does have the right to withdraw a offer sheet right?
  23. Is is financially possible for them to resign both of them and then take care of the other players in the coming years?? They are going to have to let one of them walk I am guessing.
  24. He is a pure shooter and shooters can play for a long time (ie Reggie Miller, Chuck Person, Dale Ellis, Steve Kerr) You never lose the ability to stroke it even when you lose speed and strength. If he was just a dunker or just relied on speed (Iverson) he would be the type of player who doesn;t age well in the NBA. Right now he is a shooter, a dunker, a speedster, and skillful. Father time can rob him out of all of the above except the ability to shoot the rock. Damn can he shoot the ball. That alone is priceless. If he would have been in a big market he would be regarded as a top five player in the league. Plus he doesn't like agents. He hires a contract lawyer to negotiate and pays the lawyer by the hour instead of 10 percent. I say max him out or give him more money that anyone else would he is worth it. Any of you understand where I am coming from????
  25. I hope that we don't sign him because is one of the guys who will slack up when he gets the big contract. We need to stay clear of this bum. He doesn't have enough HEART to be a Atlanta Hawk (HA HA I made a funny!
