  1. I've suggested a mac to all friends that have asked for my advice, and have been thanked each time.

I travel a lot, so my macbook is invaluable to me.

In a literal sense... it's made out of metal. not some crap plastic that is going to get scratched and potentially crack or chip over time.

OSX is also a great operating system. Very easy to learn if you've never used it before.

  2. I ended up being on a jet blue flight that had TNT and ESPN, I HAD to watch basketball one way or another, so I watched the griz/thunder blowout. Of course, the ticker at the bottom had the hawks score so I couldn't help but look.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice, I'll definitely be looking back to this thread in the future. I'm sure I'll need it!

  3. Hello friends,

I'll be flying from Boston to NYC during game 6 and won't make it to the hotel in time to see the game. Also called and checked, my hotel does not have NBATV, so there goes any hope of seeing a late-night replay on tv. I would like to just turn off my phone and stay blind to any scores or details until I see it "live" myself.

Do any of you know a reliable place on the net that might have a replay of the game up that I can watch?

I can't really torrent it, as I'll have only my work laptop with me.

    Thanks everyone!!!

  4. I don't want to sound like a debbie-downer, but I absolutely loathe the fact that I still reserve time on my Sunday nights for this show. I don't get anything out of it anymore, and every character is super annoying to me now. All the character development seems so forced, and there have been too many cheesy one-liners lately. Makes me groan every time the credits hit.

I'm pretty invested in it at this point, so I'm sure I'll see it through to completion - I just can't get excited about it anymore.

  5. Here are the players, injuries, and injured dates for each team.

Using this information, it should be possible to figure out the return dates for players in question based on a little box score investigation.

  6. Well you bastards got me to go out and blow $700 tonight on a new XB1 plus controllers and 2k14. Just waiting for what seems like forever to install the game but it's going to let me play a quick game here in just a minute while it's installing. The whole Kinect process is really freaking cool and blows the old Kinect on the 360 out of the water. I mean man it's neat being able to walk into the room and have it recognize me and sign me in.

I'd challenge you to a game of 2k14 online but it's absolutely impossible to play online w/ 2k14. 2K did nothing to improve the online experience this year - it's pretty well documented online as well.

    Shame.

  7. That sounds awesome! Had you played 2k14 on the 3rd gen consoles? I'm curious how much has changed in the game this year vs what changed with different consoles. I have 2k14 on my PC but I haven't played it much at all. Still not over playing Madden yet and I play 15 minute quarters in that game so seasons take forever.

I hate that annoying dumb voice in myplayer mode that they've been using.

I had the old kinect for 2 days last year with 2k13 thinking it would be awesome but it could never hear my voice when I had the game turned up loud like I like it. Are you noticing any issues with the kinect and hearing you during game play?

Yeah I played 2k14 a ton on 360 already. Structurally, this game is very much the same - but the next-gen eco motion engine changes everything. It feels a lot smoother. I've played 3 games so far and had at least 50 turnovers. I've either got the difficulty turned up too high, or I need to watch who I'm passing to a little better.

I haven't had any issues with the Kinect so far. I'm kind of getting over a cold, so my voice is really scratchy - but that hasn't been an issue at all.

Imo, the Kinect 1 was a complete bust. This one seems more complete and well thought out.

During lunch I was playing 2k14 with ESPN First Take snapped on the screen at the same time. What an awesome experience.

I love this thing so far...

  8. Ha, pics don't do it justice. I'll see what I can come up with though.

There's now a jump shot rating system, much like the one at the free throw line. Never realized how poor of a shooter I was until last night.

The my-player mode has been completely revamped as well. It seems like more of a story/movie now, but they kept the same voice actor from the last 3 games! The guy sounds nothing like what my character looks like... if that makes any sense. So that's kind of annoying.

The engine appears to be totally revamped as well. Controlling your player seems very fluid.

There's also this new rumble thing with the xbox one where each trigger vibrates independently of the other. With 2K, the hand you're dribbling with creates a vibration on the respective side of the controller. I don't know how I feel about it yet, but it's unique.

I haven't gotten to dive too much into anything else yet, but I'll work on that today Posted Image .
