  1. I hate, hate, hate it.This is really going to have an impact on small market teams.I think what Kevin Love does in Minnesota after next season will really tell the story of how the next several years in the NBA will go.I'm gonna go ahead and predict he ends up on the Lakers, leaving Minnesota high and dry.

    — The Hawks are said to be one team placing calls to improve their draft position. They currently own the No. 23 pick. One GM said the Hawks floated the names of both Josh Smith and Marvin Williams as potential trade chips.

    — One issue facing the Hawks, of course, is the status of GM Rick Sund. His contract expires at the end of the month, and his future with the team is unclear, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

    — As an aside, the Hawks have only six players under contract. So on top of the draft, they expect to be active in the free-agent market come July. Of the players under contract, Smith and Zaza Pachulia enter the season in the final year of their deals. Also, Williams has a player option next summer.

Don’t be surprised if the Hawks make a run at former Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford, who spent the past season with the Trail Blazers. Ray Allen (Celtics) and Alonzo Gee (Cavs) are also said to be on their radar.

  3. I don't sign on to the "rigging the lottery" theory here. The league somehow favors the Celtics on reffing etc. but screws them over in the lottery in favor of small market SA by rigging the lottery? I don't buy it.

Rigging via the refs is always my crutch when we play bad. So much so that it almost seems real.I buy ref rigging more than I do the lottery though because of the whole Tim Donaghy thing.
  4. My thinking is that there are four championship quality team models on the table..1st. OKC model. Strong young team made by several good draft picks followed by several good trades. This model has at least one superstar and compliments surrounding him.2nd. Detroit model. Compilation of vets who were acquired through trades. This model has no real superstars but everybody fits into a team mold. Because they are vets, they know their role.

I feel like the 'Spurs model' is a hybrid of these two...
  5. I have to agree w/ Diesel - Maybe.

It's easy to say that we've suffered through mediocrity.

On the flip side, it's just as easy to say that we've been able to enjoy what some might call some success.

Success is, of course, relative - but we've been to the big show each year.

We haven't always shown up, but we've had our moments.

Things could definitely have ended up worse. We could be the Bobcats, Knicks, Hornets, Cavs, and so on.

We haven't won it all yet, so maybe yes - we didn't do it right. But it hasn't been all bad.

    So as Diesel said... Maybe.

    (But I'm leaning towards no)

  6. well according to several mock drafts if we cant do anything else i think we can replace marvin at small forward. a couple of interesting prospects from moe harkless or a royce white. jeffery taylor seems intriguing, they say he is similar to a sefalosa. then fab melo is also in the vacinity.

Royce White said he wants to play for Minnesota.
  7. Anyone who reads the NBA Daft forum knows my opinion. In a draft this deep with big men.........I take Ezeli or Melo with out 1st round pick and plug them in for 20 minutes a night at center. I believe either one would be an instant upgrade over ZaZa.

Am I crazy, or did we not ship our first to PHX for joe this year...I didnt think we had any 1st's
