I fully understand the frustration of being a dedicated Atlanta fan, so I can imagine what it feels like to be a #1 option athlete in Atlanta sports...
We are all fans - we are only held responsible for our words on our respective forums.
On that token...Joe is a professional. Joe is paid by an organization who is ultimately funded by a fan-driven organization and sport.
I generally hate bickering on a forum about anything, but regardless of whether the guy is right or not - Joe should not bash the fanbase. No athlete should. It is completely inexcusable.
A fanbase is what it is, Joe knew what he was getting when he came here. He asked for it.
As an Atlanta fan, I know what i'm getting into everytime I'm @ Philips for a home game. I go to other arenas every year, but I dont go to 41 away games like Joe and every other NBA player. So like I said... Joe knew EXACTLY what he was getting into when he came to Atlanta.

I try not to bash Joe too much, be I can't think of a #1 option in Atlanta sports history I've had a harder time cheering for.
When he dogged the fans, that was the end of the line for me.

Phoenix seems like a good fit, but I have to say NYK hit my mind first.
Another stint in NY, this time as a lethal 6th man... could do wonders for that team.
IDK if he'll be able to get $10mil from them though.

I'm not sure he could co-exist with JJ on the court.
While we know josh disrupts the offense a good bit, he does make up for it on D.
Ellis wouldn't do the same.
If Smoov returns to his old shot blocking & high-flying ways, he's definitely more valuable than Ellis to this team.

Is that 'mascot' a hard hat?

I'd have no problem w/ VC in the Highlight Factory... But where would we put him in our rotation?!?
-
Not feeling the Hawks concept, but the Thunder one is a HUGE improvement over what they have now...

1 word: Relieved.

The Heat's starting 5 are more athletic, and at the end of the day - the Mavs are doing what it takes to score more points than them.
Their use of zone is what's allowing them to do it.
So no, they're doing what it takes to win a title against an opponent the likes of which the NBA has never seen.

Dirk took less so the Mavs could surround him w/ talent.
He took 4 years / $80 milion last year when he could have gotten 96.2.
That's a team player.
Joe on the other hand?... :no2:

I want a 7 footer who can defend, get rebounds, and score if called on.

I wouldn't say that he hurt the NBA, and I don't believe that he was any more of an influence on it than N.W.A. or Kurtis Blow:
+1 for Kurtis Blow.
This might be a stretch, but I have to wonder if Iverson's selfish play and unsportsman-like conduct will have any effect on the bball development of youth that idolized him a few years ago, that may soon be entering the NBA...

I'm not happy at all about this.

Does anyone have any preferences for betting sites?

Good post,
I'm curious as well...

Only TWICE since the merger has a player won a championship while ranking top 10 in the league in scoring. Those were the logo Jerry West and Magic Johnson. And those two teams were teams that were surrounded by HOFers most notably two GOAT big men in Wilt and Kareem.
Good post, but...
Am I reading this wrong? Was Kobe not a top 10 scorer during his 5 title runs?

That is hilarious! I like the second time around, " no for real....in your face"
On the Chicago column and link to the Bulls' board, I like the Bulls fans who are saying "if Atlanta needs this to be motivated there is nothing to fear..." Ummm...Chicago? Michael Jordan used a million slights much less than these columns to motivate himself. If being like MJ is wrong, I don't want our Hawks to be right.
Well put.

to walk the ball up the court?
to kill any hope of this team getting transition baskets?
to make Al Horford completely useless on offense?
To maintain order on a team w/ no rules.

I'm sleeping in my Hawks jersey tonight.

Yeah, because NBATV in Atlanta hates us.
They give us constant praise.

We got Kirk for this very reason...
'doh!... Missed the presser... anything important said?

I can't remember it all - but he definitely made me smile.
The best part was, someone asked whether or not he has any plans for Philips arena - changing things, keeping the management of the arena, etc...
He said he can't comment on staffing at this time, but his only plan right now is to put a championship banner in the rafters.
