I think I would consider a deal like the one you mentioned:

Atlanta gets: Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu

Orlando gets: Al Horford, Joe Johnson

Simply based on the fact that it rids us of Joe Johnson and is horrible contract.

I hate that we would lose Horford, but it sets us on the rebuilding path, which could very well be what we need barring a miracle.

I really doubt Orlando would want to take on Joe though because they have already used their amnesty on Gilbert Arenas.

I have absolutely no belief that would be a championship roster.

But that wold be a hell of a way to kick off a rebuilding period once Dwight left...

What do y'all think of this possible 3-way trade? This gets the Celtics the player(s) they want in Smith and Beasley and Minnesota gets a quality team player to replace Beasley in Marvin while the Hawks get KG and a 1st round pick from the Celtics.

We'd have two 1st round picks next year in a deep draft plus enough cap room to go after Dwight. You could plug just about anyone who can knock down a 3 into the lineup at SF and have a good team!

I'm willing to let this team figure things out until the end of the season - (remember, we've got 7 new guys).

If the outlook is grim in April, we start thinking a little more about the future.
