  1. I kinda like the idea of Walt coming off our bench. He is a good 3 point shooting veteran that is not a defensive liability.
  2. That's a team full of role players...and is no where near the team we are capable of being...if Theo plays 70 games we will make the playoffs period! If Jordan plays and stays healthy the full year they will challenge .....but I still think we can be a better team...their 4 and 5 spots don't scare me at all. I think this hurts Detroit more than you realize. Let's see what Rip can do when he HAS to carry the bulk of the scoring load night in and night out....! Damn, I am ready for this season!!
  3. thoughts together enough to make a an intelligent post...so excited! I think it is a little too early to start talking finals but we will be a playoff team...still have to see how Big Dog's off court issues turn out...and if he is thrilled about coming to Atlanta....he should be because ther could be something special happening here!
  4. Show me those numbers with JT playing the point for a full season with a healthy team....or just a team healthier than last year.
  5. I thought about starting JJ too...but it is finally put up time for Glover he deserves a chance to start and develop into a starter. we have to throw DG and DJ in the fire now...they have to be solid this year...DG more so than DJ. That team would have a great mixture.
  6. I would eat E mails contract...sign Jackson for cheap....then sign Haslem put CC on the IR and start with this team: JT/DD DG/JJ/Ira DJ/Toni/Ira SAR/Hendu/Haslem Theo/Nazr CC on the IR Ira can be used when Dion or DJ is getting abused. That's a tough bench. This is definately a playoff team... JT would be used as PG only. This is purely fantasy...but do you think this team could make the playoffs?
  7. He is playing for the globetrotters against the ABA select team on Fox Sports Net right now...of course I am in NC...may not be on where u are.
  8. Battier can't consistently create his own shot and never will be able to....he is a solid role player and that's it...please no Brevin Knight damn he is pathetic. Swift...give me Udonis right now as is.
  9. Normal sized is: JT DG DJ SAR Theo
  10. I would do a Spree to us....Miller to NY...Henderson/Glover to Cle. deal...would that work?
  11. please man that is bull...JT is NY putting up the same numbers and he is a legit all star...in Atlanta its a rouse. The team needs to start JT DG DJ SAR Theo plan to stay healthy and build on what we have... if we have to settle for trades like this...pathetic that we are even think ing of theis bull.
  12. We are not winning.... A healthy team ...JT at the point avg. 20 and 6.....a decent 2G (DG) ....and JT is the man. Baron Davis is the same type of player...everybody thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. And oh yeah...Dickau is no where near as quick and fast as JT....unless you have your VCR on fast forward. I see Babcocks plan now lets trade Smitty and Mookie.. so we can young and athletic...then bring in a non athletic PG and an 33 year old SG ...wow....I think Dickau can do enough to be solid but I wouldn't bet JT on it!
  13. My cable guide said the game is on ESPN so that is the channel I set my VCR to record....is it different for various regions?
  14. "Until he becomes alittle more fluid with his movements things are going to be tough for him." I agree...I think a lot of that comes from thinking too much..when he gets comfortable and sees that his team mates have confidence in him he can let his natural ability take over. I can remember times last year where SAR and JT would tell to just shoot the damn ball.
  15. so you haven't seen DJ bul the ball on the floor and take it to the rack and flush on someone...of course you have...I would agree that he doesn't do it nearly enough...but that will come with confidence. He definately has the skills to be a triple threat type of player...shooting touch...dribble drive...passing..he just needs time..we see he is improving.
  16. I even watched a pre season game VS Indiana, where they used the radio broadcast. So if it is televised they show it.

    Waste!

Atlanta Hawks forward Chris Crawford, who was in the process of participating in summer workouts with the team after his season-long recovery from a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, will undergo additional arthroscopic surgery on the same knee this Friday, according to athletic trainer Wally Blase. After suffering swelling in that area following the first day of workouts, Crawford had an MRI done on his knee this afternoon that revealed the reason for his discomfort. It is not apparent at this time as to whether or not this is a new injury, or if it was a pre-existing tear that was repaired last November. This latest setback will put Crawford out of action for the rest of the Hawks summer league workouts at Philips Arena and next week's Boston Summer League at UMass-Boston. Crawford suffered the original injury in the second quarter of Atlanta's November 10 game at San Antonio, and as a result, he was forced to miss the final 75 games of the regular season. In seven games, he averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds. According to Blase, Crawford is expected to have full recovery in his left knee in four weeks.
  18. but he doesn't have the offensive skills YET.
  19. Using salaries and the Whitsitt philosophy, Nazr Mohammed or Theo Ratliff from the Hawks remain the most viable candidates for the Blazers to acquire, despite what you hear in the media. And these are likely fairly unlikely. Ratliff makes approximately $9 million next season allowing the Blazers to acquire the young, but oft-injured center for Dale Davis and Steve Kerr, or with Bonzi Wells, both of which are possibilities. To acquire Nazr Mohammed, the Blazers would have to surrender Ruben Patterson, which is unlikely due to the Blazers desire to keep Ruben for next season when Scottie retires or for Derek Anderson if the Blazers acquire a poor salary like Chris Crawford. Because Atlanta needs a strong veteran influence, a trade of Davis for Ratliff makes more sense allowing the Hawks to shift Shareef Rahim to small forward and start Mohammed, or a scoring combo guard/forward like Wells allowing Rahim to power forward. However, a player like Ruben may allow the team to defend even better on a team with Terry and Dickau that will need defensive help. This trade is again unlikely, but infinitely more plausible despite media hype than the former deals.
  20. Why is Theo not on the summer league roster after Pete says he was going to play?
  21. Horrible trade D...and u were on a roll. Hell with a little work on his jump shot Ira can be Jumaine Jones....and we already have Doleac (Hanno)...seriously this wouldn't help us much at all.
  22. "We are still interested in pursuing size in our backcourt. We are discussing trade options with a number of teams to try and add a big time competitor...we want someone with talent who has the intangibles of mental toughness; as well as a player who can defend" sounds like Russell to me.
  23. POSEY’S DAYS ARE NUMBERED It is a matter of time before James Posey is dealt. Word is he and his agent have discussed his future in Denver with Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe, and that’s going to be tied to extension talks this summer. Posey is eligible for an extension and would love to stay in Denver, the problem is Denver is looking to re-shape the roster next summer, and Posey may not fit those plans - Kiki isn't talking beyond this season. Posey’s agent said prior to the draft he didn’t get the indication that his client was going to be traded, but league sources say a number of teams are looking at Posey as an option, and may be willing to trade ending contracts and draft picks to get him, and thats exactly what Denver seems to be collecting
