We took the backup C and possible eventual replacement for Capella at #6 so...the fit and BPA was there.

He can play on the second unit, no immediate pressure, and hopefully improve the defensive rating of that unit.  He can contribute to winning next year if he can do that.

LOL Trae's mask makes it look like he's got a beard...I had to do a double take.

That look would work for Trae!  However, he has enough trouble growing hair on top of his head.  That beard attempt would probably be all like

I guess I don't see him having the lateral quickness once his body matures.  He's still adding strength and some mass at this point.  I just feel he's an all-rounder at SF, but is a bit out of position at SG.  I could be wrong of course.  I would really like a quality backcourt defensive presence next to Trae.  I don't think Kevin or Cam are long term answers at SG.  Again, I could be totally wrong.

And at PF, I love having John as a stretch 4 next to Capela.  I really think that is strong.  I see Bruno as a developing backup at C, and Hunter as a developing stretch 4 (but capable of playing 3).

I agree we need another backup PG.  That's why I love Haliburton as a pick.  He is flexible, can begin his career learning and being a playmaker on the second unit.  He can grow into playing alongside Trae.

And I also like Brandon Goodwin as depth at PG, we may have something there.

Why don't you think he'll guard the position?  I expect that he will ultimately match up against their best SG/SF when on the floor with Huerter and mixed and matched depending on matchup when on the floor with Hunter.

Cam Reddish and Kevin Huerter are a thin situation?

Well, I guess i don't really see Reddish as a SG (given that he probably wouldn't guard that position), and Huerter is okay but probably doesn't have a lot of upside, IMO.  If I'm objectively looking at our roster, and ask the question "which position would you improve?", it's SG all day long.

No way they trade SGA, they see him as we see Young or Collins. He is core piece for OKC

Yeah, I'm sure you're right.  He's underrated in the media, but I'm sure OKC understands his value.  I wonder if the 76ers would consider something for Thybulle or Shake Milton?  I think either one would help our thin situation at SG.

There could be some worthy players available but it's gonna cost us a lot. Like A LOT to get them. It will not be cheap at all. Obviously, Cam, De'Andre, and Trae are off limits. Clint might as well be depending on the deal. JC and Kevin are generally off-limits but to pull the type of deal that could be pulled. It's gonna take one of them without question.

I would really love Shai Gilgeous Alexander.  I would trade Huerter, #6, and a protected 2021 1st.  Not sure that fits OKC, they are in a similar phase of building, and may not really desire picks.

Hmm... so #6 and 2021 1st for one year of Paul George?

Major pro: that 2021 pick would be in the 20s if we had PG.
Major con: he's gone after next season most likely

Are we where the Raptors were when they did the Kawhi trade knowing he was likely gone next year?

If he commits to staying at least his second year, I'm for it. But if it's just one year, I think it might be best to keep 6 and '21.

I can see why the Hawks would want to dig in on this one and do their due diligence.  Those draft picks aren't super valuable to us for our own use.  PG is not the ideal age for us (he's 30), since we aren't quite in win now mode.  I guess we have to ask, how far away is Cam or Hunter away from being able to be a similar piece to Paul George?  Does PG make us a contender right now? Can we resign PG?  And just how many elite years does he have left?  I think this type of move, while attractive, is going to take away developmental minutes from guys who have similar potential.
