I have been visiting this Board just about everyday since it was first created, and before on the Access Atlanta forums. I have been a Hawks fan since I was a little kid growing up in Atlanta. I have stuck with them through everything though and get ridiculed everyday. I can now say I have never been as excited about this team as I am now. I think they have a really bright future with a couple of more additions. I hope they can pull of the miriacle and beat Boston tonight and win the series. Win or loose, the young guys are playing with some heart, and i am proud.
But at the same time Boston is a great team, atleast they were during the regular season. This is the first real adversity they have seen all season, the first time they have looked like they were not invincible. True they were without KG for a little bit, but they kept on winning. But the real test for a great team is to see how they handle adversity, and Atlanta beating them twice the way they did will really show the character they have. I hope for the sake of Atlanta, that is that they can't handle it. But if they do win the series, I don't really think that means they are still not the team to beat.
All I can say is that Atlanta has shown their character. They are a team that just can't die, and if they advance, they are dangerous, because they are playing out of their minds right now, and the confidece they will have going into the next series will be at a level that it has never been. They have nothing to loose. I hope they beat Boston tonight, and show that they don't have the mental tougness that I was so sure they had coming in. Atalanta is on the RISE.
