    JT

JT is trying so hard to get his teammates involved, that he never has the time to create a shot for himself off the dribble (which he could easily do). He passes too much on fastbreaks when he should be taking it in himself, etc. But I'm sure all will be fine once he gets used to his role and his teammates. Gary Payton was probably doing the same thing when he was trying to adjust.
  2. Yeah, I looked in that SLAM you were talking about and he wrote the "In Your Face" article featuring Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Nene Hilario. I agree, he is a very professional writer, and actually an optimist.
  3. A perfect example of lack of chemistry? Team USA in the World Championships I agree with you Fritz, chemistry is VERY important.
  4. That's directly quoted from the AJC this morning. Insider, my a**.

    Question

Is Rod Grizzard's name pronounced Grizz-ARD, or Grizzard like blizzard?
  6. Haha. Nice. Also, when the writer said, "So Robinson was jettisoned to Atlanta over the summer for, essentially, Toni Kukoc and a future No. 1 pick, with the team citing chemistry problems as the main reason for the blockbuster trade." I hope he meant a future first-round pick. Or else, he'd be telling us he thinks the Hawks will be bad enough to get the 1st pick.
  7. NBA.com's surveying all the GM's of the NBA with a question every day. It's actually pretty interesting to look at what they think. Today's question: Which player is most likely to have a breakout season in 2002-03? At the very bottom, if you care to look that far, lies Jason Terry with 3.8% of the GM's, which is undoubtedly 1 GM, who is undoubtedly Pete Babcock. Am I not right? http://www.nba.com/preview2002/General_Manager_Survey.html
  8. I doubt it. They hardly show preseason games on TV, even if its the oh-mighty-Lakers. Though for some odd reason, they did show summer league games.
  9. When would a small lineup be necessary? What about 12th man lineup when you want to get everyone some PT (if you're up or down by 25 +)? C - Hendu PF - Ham SF - Crawford SG - Davis PG - Dickau
  10. Wow. You really played with him in high school? Where was your high school at? I just thought that was kind of cool that a Hawksquawker knows a Hawk, except of course hawksfreak.
  11. 52 7-footers? Damn! That's about 35 more than I thought.
  12. If he's not good enough to make the Pistons, why should he be good enough to make the Hawks?
  13. By the way, Pepe Sanchez was already picked up by an NBA team. He was signed by the Pistons while the World Championships were going on. If we pick up a decent SG free agent, we won't need to start Dion Glover. Let him compete against the second-string and third-strings of other teams, kind of like he did in Shaw's, where he dominated.
  14. That wouldn't be an upset. Atlanta is favored over Chicago.
  15. Bison Dele (Brian Williams) boat was found in Tahiti, but he, his girlfriend and the captain were all missing. Read the whole ESPN article. http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0913/1431234.html Wow, this is getting weird. Also, best wishes to DJ and his family.
  16. And also, why is the Rockets GM at number 11 just for picking Yao Ming. Any other GM would have picked Yao if they had the first pick. Another, I don't think Wes Unseld should be last after the several moves he's made this offseason. These guys should put a bit of thought into these lists before they post them.
  17. Nah, Kerry Kittles looks like a dinosaur to me.
  18. Maybe out by sea, the "Hakuna Matata" (name of his ship) got taken over by pirates. Sorry to say, but I'm pretty sure he's not alive anymore. There are pirates out there on the sea that just kill for the ship's money and jewelry, so that's my theory.
  19. ..according to ESPN the Magazine. This may piss some people off that I am even posting something from ESPN, but this isn't written by Chad Ford. It's about the teams that came out as top dogs/underdogs of summer deals. This is what they say about the Hawks - "Glenn Robinson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim can score, neither can defend. That puts a lot of pressure on C Theo Ratliff, who's missed 25-plus games each of the past three seasons. Factor in Jason Terry's production on the point, and the money-back playoff guarantee the team made to season ticket-holders is already in jeopardy." Among those that "got paid" are the Clippers (Andre Miller), the Blazers (Rid of Kemp, Sabonis), and the Nets (Mutombo). Joining the Hawks in the "got played" section are the Bulls and the Sixers. This article was written by some guy named Sam Smith from ESPN if anyone has ever heard of him, and maybe you can mail him, too, just like Chad Ford.
  20. Yea, watching the game, I was really impressed with Vick, too. He threw 40 yards with no effort, reaching across his body. Warrick Dunn is also a lot better than I thought he would be, but, damn, Ahman Green was killing us!
  21. Tim Duncan wouldn't be eligible to play for the US since he's from the Virgin Islands, but nice try. And how come Chris Webber wasn't even considered for the U.S. team? The U.S. just lost to Spain for 5th place, 81-75, and in case anyone here was wondering, they shot 63% (10-16) from the line.
  22. No, there was a fairly long article about it in the AJC a few days back on the back page of the sports section. I think it was the exact same one as at the RealGM one.
  23. So I guess this really screws up my projection of the Celtics. I don't know who they're going to start at PG next year now, unless they sign a decent free agent PG. And I don't see any more decent free agent PG's.
  24. My bad. I guess that would be a better move for them. They still may not want to take a chance with Baker EARLY ON, so they would use my lineup, but I guess the other way would go a bit better later on. Thanks.
