  1. I've said before that Theo is the key this year. In a sense, it will be feast of famine. If he's healthy, I believe the Hawks will be very very good. Withouth him, we'll be better than last year, but D will be questionable. Yes, I for one am waiting for Zarathustra to spake.
  2. "but after a couple of fakes and nice passes a lot of people start declaring him the next ( Stockton, Price, Bird Mullin etc.), I have seen him compared to every white player in history, which I hate." The above quote from BHD is plainly racist. Period. No doubt about it. While we're at it. I challenge BHD to find a post where DD is compared to Chris Mullin. Weaseldom's 8/26 post ..."I'd rather JT flourish at the point and us have a problem with finding time for a promising DD and **MULLINg** our options. " ...isn't it. Frankly, J 'lil stock' Vaughn was compared to Stockton in more posts last year than DD has been this year. Fact - good ballers come in all races. Fact - lousy ballers come in all races. Fact - smart people come in all races. Fact - dumb people come in all races. Fact - good people come in all races. Fact - bad people come in all races. That's my take.
  3. "She was one of the greatest congress women in history." Jihad Cindy is a racist whack job. Sorry - that's the truth - wahabi fanatics murder 3000 innocent U.S. civilians and she wants to take $10 mil blood money from a wahabi, whack job prince. PUHLEEEEEZE!
  4. Well, as far as dog's personal problems go - we may be able to give Babs big props for the scoop of the Dog - the fact is domestic problems are a lot different from drug problems, so while a drug problem likely signifies a player who shouldn't be touched - a domestic problem does not have the same necessary effect on the court - on the other hand, the bad print that comes with the incident means that player MUST be traded at any cost - so it's reasonable to assume that Bab's noticed the Net's made the scoop of the year with JKidd and he's doing the 2002 version of the JKidd dance - good for him. But THE question mark for the Hawks is Theo - look - at the start of last year, there were two camps, those who said theo was THE SCOOP and those who said he was soft and would barely play - guess who was right - i want to believe that theo will be there for us this year, - but i have to see first and believe second - once burned, twice shy. the Hawks will be AWESOME if theo is anywhere near 100% and plays more than 70 games this year. Last year I posted a poll before the season- how many games would Theo play? that number 3 - was probably the most imporatant stat of the Hawks not making the playoffs. 'im rooting for theo and the hawks - i'm not going to dump on him or call him soft, but i need to see the proof - i need to see minutes in a hawks uniform.
  5. I used to belong to a homebrewers list that was very civilized, but you're right, most are full of hotheads, regardless of the supposed educational level of the participants.
  6. He's right also - the key is Ratliff - If Theo is healthy, there is very little upside limit to this time - If not - they'll be okay, but not awesome.
  7. Here's a link to the Hawks TV schedule in pdf format http://www.nba.com/media/hawks/TVSchedule2002.pdf
  8. The answers are usually at least as simple as the questions. - hawksquawkers caught this Ford dude with a poorly prepared piece of guesstimations - when confronted, he offers the 'off the record' excuse, which is the journalistic equivalent of 'the dog ate my homework.'Puhleeze.Facts are JT struggled when he first got into the league - too worried about seeing the floor to be able to score -and too worried about scoring to see the floor - so he moves to the 2 and learns how to score in the NBA - the guy CAN shoot - period - and then he goes back to the point, and no longer worried about how to score, he learns how to see the floor, as his rising assit numbers show - you can complain that his height presents problems on defense - but his speed is worth so much in so many ways -
  9. It's real dangerous to call someone 'the next so and so'. Ask Steve Avery, "the next Steve Carlton." On the other hand - there's something worth it about guys who win, even if they don't seem to have the tools necessary to be winners. There's no better example than Joe Montana. Most pro scouts didn't think he had the stuff, but the fact is he engineered that great 4th qtr comeback in the sugar bowl - but what most people don't know is that ND took him because of a great 4th qtr comeback he engineered in high school. the guy was pulling off last minute touchdown drives since he was in diapers. he was a winner, pure and simple, and that counts for something. Dickau's worth a shot because maybe he has that quality. Maybe. Right now he hasn't played 1 minute of NBA ball and he's our backup PG, and that's all he is. Now, another topic that might be worth discussing is: Do NBA teams feel they need some white players to sell tix??
  10. Doesn't matter - even if Toronto had a bench, Lenny wouln't play em.
