I will ignore Exodus' comments because his statements that " Blacks are more violent than whites" has deemed to me that he is nothing more than a bigot. However, it is amazing that I cannot say anything negative about any white player without accusations of racism. Do I make sweeping statements about races of people on this site. No. I challenge anyone to find one where I said " White people are more likely..... or White people cant..... " not once. My refusal to suck up to any white players or coaches just because they are white has brought comments from racist that I am a racist. I am sure someone will sweep in claiming I plotted for this to turn into some kind of racial debate but the fact is that Manu is an above average player but I find it shocking to see him rated in the top 10. Now people will call me racist, curse me make this debate about race, when I simply stated nothing more than Manu is over-rated. But I am sure it is somehow due to me being such a huge hater of white people But please tell me where I brought up race or said anything negative about white people in this thread!

He is an okay player but everyone on that list is way better than him.

I agre I think we got great value for Willis and signing Deked was a stroke of genius but Babcock was a consistently bad GM, imagine how many good deals he pobably passed on. How many times we could have drafted Kobe or how amny times we didnt move up to draft a KG or trade for J.O'Neal when he was in Portland. We could have a monster team.

T.O. is a media whore no doubt, but so is shockey and being that he played for the Miami Huricanes and the New York Giants he has had a hell of alot more media covering him than T.O. the difference is that no matter what Shockey does he will be praised and admired by the media. T.O. critised his qaurterbacks, but shockey has come out and dissed his coach, yet T.O. gets 24/7 coverage on sports center and Shockey gets those bigots on the Sports reporters asking "Is Shockey right?". If T.O. qustioned Parcells they would lynch him in the Media, if Shockey slapped his qaurterback, they would say " He is sooo passionate about winning". Its amazing American racism isnt so much about the Burning crosses and lynchings its about the perception that a black man is dangerous, unstable, lustful, unable to control his emotions. Ask yourself this, do you give a white guy and a black guy the same benefit of the doubtif someone is accused of stealing or rape. How many 50 win teams with a proven superstar in the lineup has Billy Knight destroyed, because I have seen Pete Babcock do it three times. Before you were born the Hawks were one of the top teams in the league and respected as a potential champion. One year after Babcock got here they went from potential champs to the NBA draft lottery. He let reggie Theus go for nothing, drafted Rumuel Robinson with a lottery pick and signed Jon Konkak to a better deal than Jordan or Dominique, the two best players in the league. He then traded away Kenny Smith for Blair Rassmussen so that Rumeuel Robinson could be our starting PG. I mean it has been one mess after another. Ye Babcock was better @ making trades than Billy Knight but Babcock had no ability to evaluate talent or get the respect of anyone around him. He simply made the most absurd moves and destroyed the tewam everytime he put something worthwhile together.

You all know my hatred for Babcok and his buffoonery but I think we should actually take a real look at Billy and Pete's records here When Pete came the Hawks had just won 52 games The lineup had not produced in the playoffs but was a fan favorite around the league and was expected to contend for a championship. However the team suffered from too many egos and had alot of infighting. So Pete puts Reggie Theus one of the team's stars in the expansion draft, drafts Roy Marble and re-signs former lottery pick and hug disappointment Jon Konkak to one of the largest deals in NBA history. A better deal than then star players Moses Malone and DOminique Wilkins. The next season the Hawks see the return of Kevin Willis, and a mid-season trade of Anoine Carr & Keith Livingston for Kenny " The Jet" Smith. A dissaopointing season in which the team which missed the playoffs for the first time in years. In his second off-season Pete used his first lottery pick on Rumeul Robinson (LMBAO)! and traded Kenny " The Jet" Smith for Blair Rasmussen who retired 1 year later, while Kenny Smith would go on to be a major componenet in the Rockets back to back championships. The final move was bringing in Bob Weiss, a rookie head coach, to install a motion offense, and begin the ineffective and confusing marketing scheme "Let Run One" which confused and turned off fans. Well as we all know this season was another disaster! Well pete makes some good moves trading Rumeul RObinson for Mookie Blaylock, Doc Rivers for (9 pick)Stacy Augmon, Kevin Willis for Steve Smith and signing Dikembe Mutumbo. Meanwhile drafting Adam Keefe and a host of other nameless clowns and Making the most wetched move in Atlanta Sports history Trading Dominique Wilkins to LA, for essentially nothing during the Hawks best season. Then he decides that Adam Keefe, Jon Konkak and Blair Rassmussen, Danny Manning and other slow non-descript scrubs are the future of the game so he finds Cris Crawford and gives hime the same deal he gave Jon Konkak. Trades Steve Smith for a player that he would later waive. And gives Mookie Blaylock away for nothing. He does bring in JT, Reef and Big Hog Robinson but the team lacks continuity and chemistry and loses miserably Can Billy Knight be worse than Pete Babcock?

I have actually argued this in some articles I had published over the last 10 years. Its not that racism doesn't exist or that there aren't race related problems but to make it short " out of site out of mind" There probably werent many if any blacks where you grew up, so it seemed like a non issue. Example when I here whie women complain of discrimination I laugh and say its bullshhh, even though it very well may not be, but for me the struggles of a white woman are foriegn and dont enter my thought process. Which is why people can watch war and poverty but feel removed from it.

It was a joke, I think I am being a prettyr good sport about you all calling me a racist. I was saying something negative about a white player and before I did I established you and your buddies would claim it was part of a racist agenda. My point is clear, that guy is 7'1" but I have heard nothing about him. Usually any clown 6'10" or taller is all over the map with interest from lots of teams but this guy has none.

Well you dont have to burn a cross to be a racist. But Rick Mahorn said this and I cans ay he sure as hell knows more about the Hawks and their organization than any of us. Utah is the only team in the league that breaks its neck to field as many white players as possible. I am not going to defend Rick Mahorns comments but taken in context I see his points.

I dont hate Dirk he is a top 20 player to me, but saying top 10 or the best player in the league is going way tooo far. To me Diop was a big part of their success because he gave them the defensive presense we dont have with Zaza. But I think they could win without Dirk also. Dirk is a good player but his lack of leadership and defense urk me, when I hear peaople say he is the best player in the league.
