  1. Last year they made changes when Mike came back; now that we have (IMO) the best team in the east, it's time to put us on TBS/TNT. NBC will probably make changes after the break, but the owners of the team that they just committed to, needs to give them more exposure if they want to get full value for dollar. This team will win and if they want to sell goods outside of the Southeast market, they've got to put this team on the tube. The casual fan will love to see the scoring the Hawks will put up and the Blocks that Theo will swat. AOL/Time Warner don't let half a season of sales go by before you get a clue. Remember the beginning of the season could be a boost to your 4th qtr numbers.
  2. With those preceeding signings it's merely a negoitions. Based on like players, you aim high and work down. I'll bet, he's really looking for 3yrs and 5-6 million.
  3. I forgot Tim Duncan is an "Island Boy"...I'm not saying that Euro players are better than American players. I honestly believe that you must look at each player individually. That being said, I read this board a couple times a day since the days of the AA board. Although I've only seen you on this board, you seem to dislike Euro player on all accounts. If a thread contains talk about them, you almost never have anything good to say about them. That's what I mean by you being biased. You have to admit that Paul, Dirk, Peja and Vlade are some of the best in the league. And if you're wondering I'm an American, but I did live in Europe for a number of years. Maybe I'm biased also.
  4. Grant Hill #35! He hasn't played in almost two years, yet Theo is not on the list, nor Morning(who played last year). It's evident that your bias, because Gasol and Kmart should be ahead of Tinsely, Spree, Houston, Big Dog and Eddie Jones. You may not like the Euro ballers, but thier here and producing, better than most of these guys coming out of college. They play text book ball like Tim Duncan, but...OOh he's an American...my bad. Oh TMac should be ahead of KG...TMac makes his team better, KG doesn't. Jordan, brings intangibles, but I'd take Dirk, Reef, Brand, Stackhouse, Miller, Nash and Davis before him. Just my opinion.
  5. Amen...This is exactly what I was saying two days ago. Jay, just broke it down to the meat of it all. Jay, your articles are great... This year DJ will be our have an outstanding year...Hopefully he won't pull a TMac on us in a year or two, to star on his own team. If San Antion still has Tim in a year or two I can see them going after DJ to replace Steve.
  6. All I'm saying is that we can't call the guy a bust, yet. Now if he can't produce atleast 14ppg then he needs to be dealt. You can't realistically expect him to avg. 20ppg. He will be a third option on our roster and that depends upon how often we kick-it down low to Theo. Play 1: SAR on the block Play 2: JT drive/kick/jumper Play 3: JT drive and kick to DJ or Dion(sf) or SAR on the block and kick to DJ or Dion(sf) from the double to the spot up or slasher Play 4: Theo on the block and continue with Play 3 That's about it. DJ or DG, for that matter will only average 14ppg. Put backs/fast breaks/hussel are the only things that will change that. Now if either or both can do that, then I would call them a success.
  7. Wasn't there a guy in Toronto, who sat for a couple of years and didn't do diddly. He later went to Orlando and is one of the best (if not the best) all-around player in the NBA. What's his name...OOOOH Tracy McGrady. Look the NBA is not instant coffee. It takes time to develope into a 'baller'. Most 4yr college player need time to develope and with the NBA going younger it will now take even more time. As a matter of fact we have a player on our team that we picked 10th and was dogged his frist year and change, but now we're all on his jock. Who were those other 3 kids who came out of highschool and didn't do jack their first couple of years: Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'neal.

    WE WIN!!!

I wonder if Cal will turn out like another ex-hawk that couldn't get on the court for us, but went to the King's and is a key role player...a la Scott Pollard
  9. Rome, GA. The first 6mos of 2000 I owned a Sunglass Kioski in your mall...I would play golf just down the street from the mall also. Did you buy some sunglasses from me:o)
  10. How many other Pro's have homes in ATL, but don't play for the Hawks, Falcons or Braves?
  11. I'm not as up on salaries and conditions as some of you, but I wonder if we could do the following: Dion/Hendu for Odoem Atlanta JT/DD DJ/Ira/Email LO/TK SAR/UD Theo/Nazr/Christoffersen Clippers Quetin/Dooling Dion/McInnis Miles/Magg Brand/Wilcox/Hendu Kandi/Obinna/Ely I think that everyone wins. They get rid of a problem and get a young hardbody scorer. We get a young SF and a third scorer.
  12. I think that we are reading too much into these summer games. Dion is there to get back into playing shape and to see how well he has healed. DJ is there to get time on the court. DJ proved that he is getting better last yr and in getting 15lbs bigger. Training camp will be different. This Summer/Pick-up league is not for him. Eric is calling plays to evaluate everyone except Dion and DJ. I do believe it would be a mistake to trade Dion
  13. If you watch the plays, DJ is not a major part of the plays...He's there for the kick-out...In summer league there aren't many kick-outs...I will admit that when he does get the ball he doesn't know what he wants to do...He seriously lacks confidence.
  14. As advertised two months ago...I'm back in Atl. My big question is? Which of you guys go to the games...My wife won't go, so I need some rollin buddies...Or maybe we could start getting together and meet at the games.
